Mostly
My rated battery capacity is 45.6 kw
My daily usage tends to be in high 20s.
My overnight runs about 40% of my high point state of charge, ie if 100%, about 60% when I check in morning. When sun is good what doesn’t go to charge actually provides direct power. In winter, days are shorter for charging, in summer that 40% drops to 30%.
I don’t run lower than 25% although warranty suggests 20% and technically they could run to 0.
Our power bill was 60 dollars last month. Maybe solar is not in our future

-2 F this morning. I'm going to get the walk behind snowblower going later to clear the 2 foot drift in front of the barn door. We had snow and westerly 40mph winds, so there are drifts on the east side of buildings and bare spots elsewhere. Firewood stacks are snowed in too.

Frits an English is third language, behind native tongue and some other language.

Mostly, growing up in Europe it is normal to learn to speak multiple languages. I was more into German when we moved to the LA area. But learned quickly from TV commercials however some of the expressions were not well received in the office. But corrections were made as needed and people were very helpful. Cal Worthington Dodge commercials were the thing in that time period. He had live Zoo animals in his LA car commercials.

The garlic festival in Gilroy California may happen again later next year. I remember driving into the area and you could smell the garlic several miles away from Gilroy. The gas turbine based plant we built there was to repower a garlic processing facility. Never saw so much garlic stacked over 50 ft high in barrels

Morning, off to Philly for another of son's girlfriends concerts.

Was able to get in touch with a CB exec in Operations and they opened an investigation into why this got so messed up. I still know some people high up there.

Buppies - feel better
PJS - glad the job is going well

Got some more panel bits up and last of the nail ground out, most panels after this are complex cuts until I get to back wall. Have vents, pipes, conduit to outside lights to contend with. And a teensey I-Beam

24F, cloudy, with a few flakes falling @ 12:00. Heading up to a high of around 29F for the day.

Got hopper feeder refilled yesterday, all kinds of activity out there a little bit ago. Also finally got around to filling and putting up the suet tail feeder.

Gave the walls back in the utility room another spraying of vinegar but didn't get around to rinsing it off.

Fed fishies.

More potting soil removed from the kitchen into the garage.

More tools moved from the garage into the house.

Got all the gladiolus corms trimmed and the old corms on the bottoms of them removed, also dusted with the anti-fungal sulphur powder and packed away in a cardboard box for storage. Ended up having 110 not including the cormlets.

May need to set them out in the garage today ... after I check the temperature out there.

Kitchen getting decluttered.

Helped Woman with some baking yesterday: She made a pan of layer bar cookies and baked a loaf of banana bread ...

Did my duty and cleaned up the last of the enchiladas, She will be making another batch today ... ;)

Then finished up the cocktail shrimp that She didn't eat.

Told Woman I wanted to make pizza this week, She said "Go right ahead ..." ...

Likely will spend more time decluttering kitchen plus work down in the basement.

Hope everyone is having a good The Sunday before Christmas ... (y)

Don, with RNG as your fashion consultant I bet you could drive that tractor in stylish comfort next year. Hmmm, might you be mistaken for a biker?

Don, never heard of Hoarfrost, even growing up in Maine.

Yesterday morning we had an AWESOME ISS pas at about 80 degrees overhead. Almost 7 minutes of visibility —- with the leaves down thisnianour best viewing since March!

We get the ISS alerts. Always a treat when sky is clear, but I never get up for the early morning passes.

Frits, my father liked to put capers in things, including eggs.
us kids just thought they were little green boogers... :)

bored of doing nothing, finally got a "get to it" done.
Painter who painted this cottage two years ago did a superb job
Only one place he missed was right in front of the toilet in bathroom.
A place of course that gets an eyeball once in a while.

Having some new shelving made for kitchen and wanted it painted in this taupe color to match
rest of household woodwork. Didn't know if leftover can in basement any good. Sure was, one third of can left, plenty for shelving.

do you folks wait for paint to dry to pull up blue tape? I've heard some like to take it off while edges are still a little soft. ??

Our alerts are off by about 25 degrees, so we always have to guesstimate exactly where it will track

Frits, did your kids grow up learning a second language?
My Mom was French/Polish and grew up speaking English and French as there was a significant French speaking population, but no Polish. Sadly, we only grew up with English, I guess as my Dad came from an only English speaking (Irish) family. I consider my own upbringing as lacking in that regard and have never been successful with other languages. Tried Vietnamese and German even with classes. Seems most of the locals I dealt with preferred to practice their English at the time.

That's so true.
I grew up sovjet era, so russian at school was a must. Then in college studied English, went 2 runs in practice in Germany, learned little German there. Because of work learn little bit of Italian. But I am too lazy for that and with Italians speak English

My oldest daughters went to French lyceum, so they had to study French 1 hour every day. Then for optional language they choose German and they are rather good with that. For sure they speak better than me. But they almost dont speak russian. Dont care. Some says could be nice to keep that russian vibe as we have common border with them and here like 20 - 30 % minority are russians. But in today's light care even less

edit: Hoarfrost is an English word meaning - a grayish-white crystalline deposit of frozen water vapor formed in clear still weather on vegetation, fences, etc.

We don't use that term in Texas is it used elsewhere in the US?

That phenomena in my picture completely corresponds definition. It's not snow neither ice.
But I haven't heard that word in casual discussions, so I started to doubt.

I have read shat in some of NA natives (mby Inuit) language there are more than 50 words for "snow". We have like wet, packed, powder, fresh.

21°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 33° today. The 9mph wind from the northwest is keeping it cold out there in spite of the sunshine.

We seem to still have a slight leak from the upstairs toilet. Need to recheck everything. I didn't replace the line yesterday, so best guess is that's probably it.

Glad you got your gear back, Paul. I've not had such luck over the years. Lost count of how much stuff people have "borrowed" and never returned. I'm usually reminded when I remember that I had something, but can't seem to find it anymore. I just eventually stopped letting anyone borrow any music equipment at all.

Good afternoon, all.

I've only ever read the word hoarfrost. I've never heard anyone around here actually use it.
