Ever hear of a Tractor driver being tipped for people transportation. Well, now you have. I'm surprised also.
I know the mail guy is very appreciative, he writes a nice note of thanks each year.
We all know the restaurant industry runs on tips, it's how servers get paid.
But it's not like that everywhere.
I'm just making this up but say in Japan offering money is a some horrible etiquette mistake
A personal note and some home made muffins can do the same thing.
Doesn't always have to be money.
I started off bussing tables at age 15 working for a cut of the tips.
Tips have always been important to anyone who works in a restaurant or bar.
I guarantee you those guys hauling trash cans all year long for me appreciate the money, in crappy rainy and snowy weather,
always helps to get my cans put back straight up and neatly in driveway when they are done.
and if I keep the mailman happy, which I will do with muffins and money this year, my mail will be well tended to.
so perhaps both saying thank you and investing in good future service.
taxi drivers too. They always expect something.
so a tractor driver,
particularly one as skilled and presentable as Don, well I can sure see those
nice ladies slipping him a thank you.
