Made it back form Sprinter service. The glow plug was changed and works again. The oil leak turns out to be from the engine oil cooler which is more involved to repair so will get a quote and see what the damage is.

Took a pic of the reconstructed first Benz automobile from 1886. 0.75 HP, 8 MPH top speed, 0 to 60: NEVER

The Mac computer and the Vizio TV does not connect anymore so no casting over to the TV. Not sure how I had set this up in the beginning. Is it a MAC problem or a TV problem.? Not sure
Our granddaughter could fix this in minute but I am not that astute with this aspect of technology

usually on the TV you have to enable casting as an input and then get the Mac to find it.

One thing that seems to be emerging from the US is that our government and MSM may be misleading about the effects of the sanctions against Russia. The MSM news portrays the effects as severe in Russia while people who have visited recently have reported well stocked stores and fuel that is comparable in price, or below, to what we are paying in the US.
First of all - sanctions can't kill existing businesses / activities. But they are working very well against future options. What they COULD have made. Like russians could have developed new gas / oil fields, thrive from business collaborations etc. But now they have to live what they have. While they still have. Inertia.

BTW, russian anecdote about inertia.
Ivan tries to explain to the same level alternative gifted comrade what inertia is.
Went to haunting found something like bear's den. It seemed empty, put the gun on the side, crawl down on all 4 and started to explore that den. Suddenly some noises, and feel paws of animal on his back.
Slowly turned head, realized that is just dog, but anyway no more couldn't stop s*it sliding into pants. That is inertia

Sorry translation is silly, I know, just hope you got this idea

And petrol always has been cheap there, they produce it at home and dont tax it too heavily
But groceries shops are full only is Moscow and SPB.
With industrial parts situation is rather dramatic. Like they cant get a simple inverter. Or whatever. All spare parts we can have with overnight shipment they have to combine, ship trough third countries, figure out how to pay, how to make customs clearance etc. I dont say they cant do that. But even simplest problem makes a ton of efforts
I feel that as we have got a lot of requests from them. I don't bother myself to replay them.

It seems there is a glitch in the software update that I installed? See this note that I found:

macOS Ventura update was released for both Apple m1 Silicon and Intel Mac users. After upgrade to macOS 13 Ventura from macOS 12 Monterey, several users noticed a lost of dual monitor functionality

Good (Wednesday) morning. Well, so far this is the Summer that hasn't happened yet. The overnight Low was 3.4C and it's currently struggling to reach 10C. High winds, overcast and raining... the rain started around 0530 and there was 5.2mm in the gauge by 0900. Crickey, it's the middle of December and I've got my electric heater on!

Months ago my Aunt, who is going to visit this month, told me the date/time she'd be flying into Launceston = 15 Dec @ 1520, so I was prepared to go 'in' tomorrow. She messaged me from her cruise ship late yesterday that it was Saturday the 17th, but I'd got the time right. 😄 At least all of the house cleaning is complete and her room is 'made up'.

It's 'into town day' for mail/groceries but that will be later in the day as I've got a Veteran's Christmas Lunch gathering at Noon.

That's about it, take care all.

Cleaned pellet stove when I got home. First clean of the season. It could have gone a little longer, but if was off and cool. Got it running now.

Happy birthday David.

28F and fair @ 19:00, high reached 38.1F here for the day and that was with a good bit of bright sunshine.

Did get hopper feeder refilled yesterday, also cracked corn scattered for the ground feeders.

More tank work: front glass and gravel cleaning, water from pwc's hauled back to the stationary tubs and dumped, more replacement water added, some pre filters changed.

Got the Orange Julie fished out of the tank in the living room last night and moved to one down in the fish room. Still have at least 1 Multi up there that I need to move down to the colony downstairs.

Got additional Menards order placed.

Woman headed out again early today to get blood drawn, was unsuccessful yesterday (outdated order) She has doctors appointment tomorrow and will get her flu shot.

After She got back She cooked some hot sausage patties for lunch and after that we headed up to Menards and picked up the orders: 14 sheets of 1" polyiso foam board, roll of tape for the foam board, 10 rolls of unfaced R-11, and one bundle (11 sheets) unfaced R13, 4 large tubes of Loctite polyurethane adhesive, and a 250' roll of 12-2. Polyiso and roll insulation were both on sale so saved a bit there.

Will need to unload the polyiso tomorrow and move it around back before the weather turns bad, will likely leave the rest of it in the van until it's needed due to lack of storage space. Also move over some sheets of the 2" pink board from the barn.

Had some "visitors" just before we headed out:

These characters were not who I had in mind when I put out the cracked corn for "the ground feeders" ...

Really need to get that window cleaned off ...

Hope everyone had a good Tuesday ... (y)

42°F and light rain this morning, only got up to 47° this afternoon. Rained most of the day, and was misty in-between.

Sad day at the Smith house. Our oldest cat, Katniss, finally succumbed to the kidney disease she'd been fighting for the last five years. Found her this morning laying in the hallway downstairs, mostly unresponsive. Took her to the vet, who told us there was nothing she could do for her, except euthanasia. So, she left us today after almost 11 years. She was a good kitty, and is already missed.

Not a lot else got done today. Wife was feeling better today, but still not great. I seem to have made it past most of the cold symptoms. Still have a bit of a stuffy head, but that's it.

Good evening, all.
Paul and Wifey, sorry about your kitty.
Good Friday morning !
Yesterday night went for dinner for b-day of my wife's sis-in-law husband. They live not far from us, so we have a nice connections. (if I can say so :)) We were 10 people at table, was nice evening

During night got another 5 cm of snow. Wake up early to clean our driveway. I live on lowest priority street and that is private, dead end street so city will never clean it. That's fine for me, I own tractor and dont care at all.
Our road crosses city road in T cross. Near that cross is old house, where lives man ~ 40 - 45 years old, single guy, but together with his mom. With that older lady we sometimes have had some chat, actually yesterday I have pushed snow also from that cross and little bit of city street and we make jokes that her shovel is almost same size than my tractor's plow. but I have never exchanged a single word with that guy. Meantime we have super good connections with other neighbors. Kids are playing together, help each other whenever is needed and so on. As this year I am plowing snow I am becoming even more popular 😁

So this morning that guy was cleaning his yard and went out, towards me as I were approaching
Bloody *******, how he spoiled my mood

Anyway, forecast says that cyclone is coming with strong winds and for the Sunday/Monday we could get another 25 - 30 cm of snow on top of already existing 20 - 30 cm. Nice.
Just remember as you drive back towards your house, he lives with his mommy still because he "don't know the womens". Thus very angry about everything. Don't smile too big when you are driving on other side of road...
I know. It's bad right? I'm supposed to want an EV... But I can't help it...
Hee hee he!

That looks like fun. I was about that age when my Dad got a little MGB. He let me shift while he drove. That started a love affair with roadsters. The Cobra is a Factory 5 replica with a fuel injected 302. Should be alot of fun. Some other cars I have > The Boxster S and a Mustang GT
cool,cool,coool!
There are plenty of good replicas out there.

Helplessly behind. Trying to catch up.

Good evening all. 63ºF for start, overcast, light wind. Had squall line come through about 8AM headed for storm shelter for about 15 minutes. did not check rain gauge prior to squall line. We got 1 inch rain Friday and Saturday plus this morning's rain had water over Low water #2 crossing. High temp for day was 64ºF and low temp forecast to be 45ºF at midnight. Changed out to new light on Christmas decoration, wife likes it now lights are multi color lights, instead of all white. Bike ride in afternoon, water sill over #2 crossing, slows the time a bit. No nap :( Cold weather coming more insert fires :).
