Ken & Alien hope you kick that nasty illness real soon.

Looks beautiful and they should be very proud of their work, but I wonder at the practicallity of all those small doors. I guess it depends on what it is/will be used for.
Alien, hope you feel better soon. Being in hospitals and nursing homes is no fun. Fully understand your decision.

The restoration was to bring it back to original condition as it was in the 1800's. The doors I believe was for access to the animal pens inside. This barn is part of the Antietam Battlefield nearby our property

Popgadget, gotta love goobermint incompetence. WTH is wrong with the fingerprints that they had on file? If they lost the file, that is on them and shouldn't cost you anything.

Rich B 1, thanks for that.

I got the V plow attached.
Some agencies require new prints every x years.

Shows what can be done when money is not an object.
It does look beautiful and I would love to see the inside.
I grew up working in plain bank barns with low ceilings,
most people were bumping there heads daily while working, looking down while feeding or carrying milk pails,
or shoveling the gutters out to clean the barn.
So while I can admire the workmanship in the old post and beam structures and the appearance of a restored old barn.
I can remember vividly the unfriendly working conditions in those old barns,
so my enthusiasm for them is somewhat lessened.
You are right on that for the ground level where the animals are but many barns have higher ceilings on the ground floor. This barn restoration was to be historical correct for the civil war period.
Our barn has 10 ft ceilings on the ground floor. There is a barn a couple miles from our house that was also completely restored but turned in to a useful ground floor level with concrete floors and big sliding doors for access.
I will take a couple pictures of it next time I go by

Good (Thursday) morning. It turned out to be a yo-yo weather day yesterday... from an 'official' Low of 5C to a calm High of 26C, then a rapid evening plummet, with associated wind, to 13C. It's gusty out and the wind-chill put the overnight Low at 3C. It's presently sunny and there was 4.5mm in the gauge.

I'll probably mow the front paddock/equine arena this arvo. I do need to walk the property with my Roundup spray bottle, hunting for thistles before they flower/seed.

That's about it, take care all.

50°F and cloudy this morning, slowly and steadily dropping all day to 44° right now.

Had a nice, long post all ready to go Monday, hit the blue button, and got the dreaded "server maintenance" notice. Oh, well, so it goes. I'll not recount all that again this time. Woke up Tuesday morning feeling under the proverbial weather. Think I've contracted a head cold. Slept much of the day away. Wife woke up this morning with a headache, and has slept most of today away. Aren't we the rowdy bunch this week!

Some great pic, fellas.

Sorry about your fall, Doug. Hope it's healing well. And, "spit the dummy" is yet another new one for me.

Good evening, all.
