Just for interest sakes. This is one of the reasons I 'spat the dummy'. 'Lady' in the next door bed to mine, let's call her humpty dumpty (because that is a perfect description of her) Was on an extremely noisy CPAP machine unlike anything I have ever heard before. It resonated through the whole ward and down the hallways and 'dumpty' was the only one who could sleep. Now there was 2 spare unoccupied self contained rooms they could have moved her to but they refused. So between that and lousy meals and cold coffees and lots of other things it was too much for this little rubber duck. I recorded a small (very small) portion of her trumpeting. This went on for several hours. We only had curtains between us. Turn the volume up and you will get the idea.

Mate, I hear you and feel for you... and this is one reason that I pay for my (Navy Health) private health insurance.

The last time I was in hospital (private room and overnight) I asked for, and received, a glass of wine with my evening meal. [Oooh, it was a rough 'glass'... but I had it!]

That is horrible!

Poured first cup of coffee. 35° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 40° with overcast skies. Clouds and not provided with a view of full moon this month. Will try again next year. Got some cleanup in shop done yesterday. Got a haircut. My thinking is much clearer now.
Been a ongoing battle with mice in the house this fall. Was looking for Sassy's winter gear in a draw last month. Found dog food in one of the drawers. Not just a couple of pieces. Probably a full pound. Clean that up. Was looking for my winter gloves and hat in a plastic basket. Same amount of dog food. Then was moving stuff around in a dry good closet. In one corner there was a another pile of dog food. The topper was when I got my snow boots out of the closet one of them was full of dog food. All this time I was thinking Sassy has decided to put on some weight eating double want she normal does. First time I figured it may be mouse was when I found a mouse in middle of mud room. It was way oversize and weight. It was still alive. Disposed of it. Started putting out mouse traps. Got 2 more mice. Kept resetting traps with fresh peanut butter. In morning peanut butter would be gone and trap had not have been tripped. On Tuesday I spent some time tuning up the trip mechanism and arm. It worked got the what I think is the last one. All 4 traps still have peanut butter on them this morning. And Sassy's bowl is still full of dog food.
Grocery shopping and may get snowplow on tractor today.
When no one else will pose for a picture. There is always a Dove.

I would have "spat the dummy", too.

Good morning, low temp 18 and high to 19°F. Wind N 8 mph. Cloudy.

Waiting for the block heater on the Dodge to do its' thing a little bit and then off to the 'big smoke'. Also waiting for day break. If I leave here at about 06:30, that should put me just behind rush hour, maybe. I will make a couple of stops on the way down, but only long enough for a p.

The V plow may look ugly now but a coat of paint in the spring will make it look better. I know, it doesn't matter how much lipstick you put on a pig, in the long run you still have a pig. At least it will be a prettier pig.

ron, nice pic of the Dove. You know that cats and dogs do get along together and you need a cat.

Have a safe day all

49 going to 58. Rain ended, but some fog formed...good moonlight as I looked out the back for the loudest pack of coyotes I've ever heard.

Alien, I'd have done more than spat the dummy if I was trying to sleep next to that noise.

Ron, sorry about those mice.

Did a good dump run...many cardboard boxes to break down and put in the recycle bin, and a maintenance hike.

46 outside this AM. Heading to lower 50's.

Never got to the back woods yesterday, it was drizzling all day. Was supposed to clear. This AM, still looks wet outside.

Funny on the coyotes, wngsprd, day before yesterday one, just one, was in the back howling like a wolf. Usually a bunch of them just yap away. I guess he/she was looking for the rest of the crew. It went on long enough that I tried to record it on my phone. I failed there. LOL.

Hope all have a great day and are on the mends. Be safe.

good morning all
cloudy day in the 50s
Alien, sorry about the leg, heal quickly

food shopping this morning, then visit to MIL and then a friend's home for dinner. Helping her trim her tree.

long school board meeting last night, new head of school board chosen, lady who runs a yoga business.
School is doing very well, almost full enrollment, balanced budget/small profit over last five years.
Lots of discussion about social emotional learning, all the DEIJB issues, very cutting edge in that regard.
Local largest public school Central Bucks is literally banning books. Only takes one complaint to pull a book out of library.
We are only K-8 but there will be no book burnings going on at this little school.
Plus we are a private school, if you don't like approach, don't pay 24k to send your child here. School is now starting to see
kids from homes of parents worried about the current situation applying.

More important is what goes on in public school since the average kid gets what he gets.
My nephew is on local school board, as was his father and grandfather.
Going to chat with him over christmas to see what our local public school is doing.
Little school rated #2 in Pennsylvania. Experienced teachers make six figures. Huge priority on education here.
Very unlike where I used to live in NC. School tax down there 1-2 grand a house. Here 5-8k a house.
You don't always get what you pay for, but if you don't pay for it, unlikely good results.

hope you guys under the weather feel better. I just ordered some cough drops for neighbor who is coughing away.
So many folks have a long term cough.
My brother just got back from a week in FL coughing away. I got a bag of cough drops for him too.

Good morning! 69˚F heading to the upper 70s, partly cloudy light South wind.

Alien good escape, hope your leg heals quickly.

Shopping done yesterday but still might get some jars of "employee discount" jam from the "farm" to give to people.
I still haven't ordered the battery chainsaw I need to make sure I cannot start the gas chainsaw.

I still have not signed up for the extra shift that does the adult night time ornament hunt. The evening I'm driving the tractor before the hunt it might rain with a cold front pushing through. I don't do cold and wet well. I did see one of the prizes was an Apple Watch and another was a Meta Quest -2.

Back in the day when our kids went to public school there were some books banned but not like we see it now and there were calls to mom from teachers about their displeasure about what our kids were reading. For example the book To KILL A MOCKINGBIRD was banned except for the 21 first pages. So mom bought the full book and the movie for the kids to read and see for themselves. Another thing we got calls about was our kids reading different religions such as the Koran and others. Like we told the school we have no reading ban in our house and they are free to read anything and discuss with the family. It promoted a lot of reading including one that read the combined works of Shakespeare at 11.

Good Morning!!!! 4F @ 5:15AM.
Cloudy with rain developing this afternoon. High 53F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 100%.

Crazy clouds, Mike!

Hope all those under the weather recover quickly. 'Tis the season... Think I'll go back to masking in public. It never went away at the alergist's.

How safe is your trailer, Drew? Around here, it wouldn't last the night before sprouting legs.

OMG, Doug! I couldn't even stand to watch the whole thing! I guess you don't go to a hospital to sleep, huh?

Poor Sassy! Did she lose any weight while the mice were stealing her kibble?

I'll try it going backwards next time Buppies. Thanks!

Started the day by lighting a burn pile, then ended up just feeding it all day. It wasn't a big one, and the bottom layer was all stumps, which wouldn't burn on their own. So I just kept piling on branches and slash, and by sundown there was still quite a pile of coals:
fireBuggy.jpg

Got quite a few trees out of one pile, limbed 'em, moved 'em down to another pile, one surrounded by tons of downed manzanita. So I loaded the grapple with manzanita and threw that on the fire, too. Lost count of the number of laps like that, but there was a lot less wood on the ground when I was done.

Tried to get a clear picture of the moon with the iPhone, but all that came out was a white spot. Google was no help. Do I need a new iPhone?

Town run today, with a stop at the eye doctor. I don't enjoy being dialated, but hopefully by then it'll be cloudy out and I won't have to wear those silly looking eye shades under my glasses.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

today 42 going to 52, not able to get anything done.

Alien, that is not the kind of adventure you are supposed to be having. Hope the leg heals quick and the hand is better.

This was going to be our first year back at the palm court in the plaza hotel for high tea. My wifes family tradition for many decades. It's been off the last few years, and now that both of us are sick, another year without, wife was really looking forward to that.

Oh well, back to day job for a few hours and then back to bed.

RNG, my camera is 600mm with 20mp. This allows me to use digital zoom to show moon landscape. I went on Google a long time ago and did recommend setting for a moon picture. Then saved settings in camera. So no idea what they are any more.
My iPhone 14 Pro Max will not take good moon pictures. 3x zoom and 48mp will not give me a good picture.
To get the results my camera gets. You would need a iPhone with 25X digital zoom and at least 20 mp.
Sony makes a camera that will do it.
Sony RX10 IV but not a phone.

Get well on @Alien! Maybe now you can recuperate at home Without the noise!
I would not have lasted half an hour with that noise. Hope they brought some earplugs.
I listened to it and then it wouldn't leave my head. Imagine listening to that hour after hour
