Good morning!!!!

I do want to get an UPS for the pellet stove. If we loose power, the program for timer / scheduled burns gets erased. Don't want that to happen during the night. We could get mighty cold......

IF your pellet stove doesn't like the on/off repeats like mine didn't then you could get mighty dead. Mine didn't like that nonsense and spilled pellets into the firebox until it overflowed and they were burning in the ash pan. Filled the house with smoke. I smelled the smoke just before the smoke detectors went off and cleared everybody out and opened the windows and doors at 5 A.M. in the middle of winter. (The company had already replaced one computer board that was in it, I told them that if it screwed up again it was going back.) End of pellet stove. The thing wasn't even one winter old.
I wont have one of those killers in my house.
Called the company that sold it to me and they refunded all that I paid for it and also came and picked it up.

As for which/what to get. I have had good luck with APC which can be had at Best Buy. If your item doesn't have a lot of electronics then a power bar or a Belkin (another brand I use) surge protector might be sufficient.

Higher priced items get higher priced surge protection. My big screen tv is on a APC battery backup as are both computers.
I have also had good luck with a NEWPOINT Switcher 2000 Plus power bar, but it is old, at least as old as the hills, bought it back in 1995/6. Now it is just a spacer to get my monitor up higher.

Don’t think so but I’ll watch for you Don. We are entering a very active pattern east of Mississippi from 10th thru end of year maybe longer. Perfect east coast snow pattern

I am back from North Bay. Gas was $1.479/L or $5.59/ US gal. Took $69.oo worth, so my fuel conservation goal has been met for November, under $100.oo.

check, here is the page at Best Buy. https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/search?search=ups+battery+backup

Tiger direct has them too IF you are close to Markham, I think the Markham store is still in operation.https://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/search.asp?keywords=ups+battery+backup

I also use a surge protector on both fridges and water softener. Just a cheapy one, plug it into the outlet and plug the appliance into it.
Thanks! Will check it out.

Bad news check: In 2019, TigerDirect closed its online business servicing Canada.
They've also closed their brick and mortar stores, too.:(

8 hours of gen running, first PECO said they would have power back by 11pm.
Now it says "pending assessment"
If it wasn't 36 out, I'd go turn off the gen and sleep it off, but looks like the gen will run all night.
Wonder how long that propane tank will last.
