PJ, congrats.

I just watched the Outdoors with the Morgan’s episode from a year ago where Mike announced he quit his job to do YT full time, as it now made him more money and he didn’t have to travel. At age 54.

I’m still contemplating my next move. Right now it’s to retire at the end of the year. The uncertainty with no paycheck coming in is an uncomfortable feeling,

Tracking sons trip, he’s at Buc-ees in crossville. So should hit his hotel about 11.

Congrats PJ!
Are their products audio related? That would be icing on the cake. Well, maybe, that industry seems to have lots of instability.

Thanks, guys. No, not audio electronics. They're a contract builder for a bunch of industries, a big chunk of which is automotive.

Commute should be way better, Drew. No interstates, no bridges, ... just a couple of two-lane state highways through mostly farmland. 29 miles instead of 45 each way.
I'm really looking forward to the change.

Good morning (evening) everyone! Nice day again today, but now the wind is kicking up in front of the cold front coming tonight. Chances of some light snow tomorrow, only an inch or two.

Snow is no worry..... everyone is here that will be for thanksgiving. No need for travel. Food prep was started, finishing in the morning.

PJ, CONGRATS! Sounds like it will be a nice upgrade! Just the diminishing commute time is worth it..... then not having to dodge bullets... well enough said!

Ron, sorry to hear that the son got bitten. Hope he gets over it quickly.

Drew, sounds like a nice trip! Enjoy the soft bed!

Picked up the wifey's glasses today (1 out of 2 pairs). As I was standing there, another order was delivered.... I asked if they could check to see if her second pair was there.... the girl quickly looked and said "no", "they will probably come in Friday". By the time I got home, they called.... second pair was there!

I will be speaking to someone when we go back on Friday..... I hope they are ready for it..... maybe I won't be as aggravated by then...... considering that it's a 65 mile RT, maybe I'll push for some gas......

Time to go put up the feet....

Everyone have a great Thanksgiving..... I am definitely grateful

52° going for a high of 57° with light breeze but raining now, rained yesterday a little (.31"), and supposed to continue through Saturday, but no large amounts forecast. Our city has posted a request on the website to restrict watering, conserve water, etc. because the lake is down more than 20%.

I haven't posted about my physical problems lately because they seem so minor compared to what some of you are having. But I've been having what I'd consider a weird problem with my left knee. Weird because it's not too bad walking, or even sitting in a chair, but then aches so bad I can't sleep when I lie down. Maybe I'm just weird, but I slept on my stomach until I was in my fifty's and finally changed to my left side. I just have a devil of a time sleeping on my back; just doesn't work for me. So after weeks of sleeping, for short periods of time, in my recliner instead of the bed, I tried to get an appointment with the doctor who replaced my right knee several years ago, and he was booked up solid (or on vacation) for a month. So yesterday I saw a new young doctor in the same group, and was very favorably impressed with him.

X-rays show old age problems with the cartilage of the knee. I still cannot understand why it hurt so bad lying down anyway except on my back but not sitting up in a chair, or even driving. Now that left leg is the one that was affected by polio, so I thought that was a possibility. Anyway, I had told my wife that I wondered if the nerve in that knee couldn't be killed. I did NOT mention that possibility to the young doctor, BUT he gave me 3 options; one was surgery to kill that nerve but said he'd think that would be last choice, two was a medication (the name of which I've forgotten) that amounts to an incredibly large dose of an inflammatory medication that CAN cause some digestive problems, and three an injection in that knee that might last 2 or 3 months. I went for the injection; looked like a very big needle but didn't hurt at all. And he sent a prescription for something I've never used or heard of; Meloxicam 15mg. So I was comfortable and slept better in my chair for about 5 or 6 hours, then got up to find I'm dizzy and unsteady on my feet; apparentlyi a side effect o Meloxicam. Sometimes you just can't win.LOL

Oh well, daughters, son-in-law, granddaughter coming for dinner today so I think we'll have a pretty nice Thanksgiving. I'm cooking two smoked turkey breasts, and I've made two dozen deviled eggs, picked up two BIG pies at Sam's Club, and the kids are bringing everything else and I'm sure we'll have all we can eat for the rest of the week.LOL

Coffee is done brewing. 25° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 54° with overcast skies. Kind of disappointed that Son is unable to come up to my place for Thanksgiving. But the rest of family will be at my younger Son's place this afternoon. Went out to shop and worked on a couple of projects. Then relaxed rest of the day. Need to prepare Ham for todays dinner before heading to my sons place.

Everyone have a Happy Thanksgiving. [/size]

Good morning and happy Thanksgiving,
Mostly sunny today, with highs in the low 40’s. Calm wind becoming SW around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Quiet day at home today, just wasn’t up for traveling 2+ hours each direction for either of our families gatherings. The Mrs picked up a small 10lb turkey and the fixings so plenty of food and leftovers for us.

Happy belated birthday to Mrs Phil
BEF congratulations on upcoming retirement
PJS good luck on new job

Prayers for those in need, our country and peace around the world
Enjoy your day everyone

Good to hear from you again, Bird. In the FWIW department, I've been taking Meloxicam for a few months now, and haven't experienced any dizziness, even when I first started on it. It's helping with back pain, but isn't a cure. More like just takes the edge off...

Good Morning!!!! 63F @ 3:30AM.
Sunny. High 69F. Winds light and variable.
That forecast is much at odds with the current weather, at least wind wise. It's been roaring outside, with gusts above 35MPH. Enough to shake the porch roof and howl through the trees, and wake me from a sound sleep to go outside and bring in the patio furniture before it ends up in the lake.

Welcome to GM, Yander. What part of Ohio are you from?

Now that's some welcome news, Paul. What a great way to start the new year! Sounds like a big change jumping into management. Hope it goes well for you.

Yesterday started with a Costco run that was supposed to have us at the doors when they opened. The hours seem to have changed recently, and they'd already been open for an hour. But there were plenty of parking spots available, and, at least at first, the isles weren't crowded. My friend isn't a member, so took advantage of the prices to stock up on some clothes, while I let a big bottle of Woodford's Bourbon jump into the cart, as well as some foodstuffs. By the time we were finished, I was getting that dizzy feeling you get watching a train at a railroad crossing, there were so many shoppers in the store. We hit my favorite taco stand for lunch, tried to get into the Bidwell mansion for a tour but found them all full for the day, and settled for a cruise through a blown glass studio. Back at home we dove into making up a couple of apple pies, which went smoothly until I tried to get the crust into the piepan. I'd forgotten the old trick of winding the crust onto the rolling pin, and flipping it off the pastry sheet made a huge mess. Got the job done until I eventually remembered on the second pie. Yes, we'd started off to just make one, but we had a ton of apples and shortening, so why not? Then we still had enough left over to make a third in a small baking dish, which we sampled after a Costco rotissery chicken dinner. It was pretty good, all things considered, like neither of us had made an apple pie in maybe forty years!

Today we're off for my bulldozer buddy's around noon to join he and his wife and mother for an early Thanksgiving dinner. We're bringing a pie, and the apple cobbler, and a little wine and a bottle of his favorite Bourbon. Sure hope the forecast turns true and these winds die down.

Here's wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. I feel like I've got a lot to be thankful for this year!
