Good morning!!!!

Hot coffee this morning. 24° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 35° with chance of light snow all day. Yesterday snow melted off by noon. Which made me forget to bring shovels up to house. Spent the day conserving energy. Grocery shopping again today. Then Dr appointment late morning. Working on some repairs to Trac-Vac. It's over 40 years old and needs a little maintainace. Mostly screws and rivets.
Birds had to clear snow away to get at food yesterday morning.

Riptide, prayers for your family.

Buckeye, there is no fun in leaving. Keep posting your thoughts.

Drew, you and others are playing a lot for fuel oil. I remember how I was so glad to get NG and off fuel oil in the late 70's. Fuel oil was expensive then also.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

Up early today getting coffee. 33 going to 40 with some flurries of snow. Got the wood fire going good and it is needed for sure. Taking wife to get her monthly infusion at the doctor today. We had delayed it two weeks because of my covid infection so she needs the "fill up" to get back on track. Our daughter with second job continues to do well and looking forward to build up some saving for a backstop and paying us back for loans. Single mothers with kids are very vulnerable to unforeseen expenses

28 going to 46 and some wind. Saw where western NY may get 1 to 4 feet of snow, and travel close to impossible over next couple of days. Lou, hope that doesn't make it all the way over to you.

Ron, looks like you got a good snow. Good advice to BEF. We need you guys here!

Son arrived last night and we discussed our hiking options...top choice will have wind chill of 8F, and likely icy trail due to frozen water from rain, and springs that flow onto trail in places. Nope. 2nd choice will have great flow in the waterfalls, but the Skyline Drive is closed due to snow and ice. 3rd choice may be to walk the aisles in Wegmans. 😁

good morning all
cold morning, high of 45, but a dry day. Lot of snow predicted North of here, several feet in NY.
Living in Syracuse must be a real treat. You'd better like snow...

off to dealer this morning to get oil change and then school board meeting late afternoon.
I might clean out veggie garden today, all those dead tomatoes and pepper plants, time to hit the mulch pile.
Must be a dozen green tomatoes left on the vine. Too bad I'm not a fried green tomato guy.

hope you all have a good day.

Good morning, low temp 16 and the high to 23°F. Wind NW 9 mph. Flurries.
It is still snowing from yesterday. We've got about 2" so far. Not enough to bother plowing, yet.

A dump and town run for today and conserve energy after that.

Have a safe day all

with so many distracted drivers on the road now, it was good news to read that current safety tech is really working.
AEB, automated emergency braking, on many new cars now but not all, apparently over last five years has cut frequency of
rear end collisions in half when cars have that feature. That's huge.
These beepers and buzzers annoy us all, but your chances of getting rearended at a light are going down.

Since the only accident I've been in over the last 50 years was gently tapping a car in front of me at a light, when they stopped in the middle
of the main road, after pulling out, with no one coming. Ancient confused little old lady who never should have been driving.
But I hit her no matter how bad her driving was. Always pride myself on defensive driving, and that crunch really woke me up.

All of you getting snowed on, enjoy. Don't forget to send a little to Buppies.

37 outside this AM, heading to mid 40's.

Nice buck, Joel/ak. Reminds me to go have the talk with one of my neighbors. Into the woods I went the other day for firewood. Not more than 200 feet in and still within visuals of the horses and pasture I spotted a tree stand. It's super close to the property line, and the worst part is it is facing the pastures.

My neighbor has over 20 acres on his side of the creek and well, I have no idea why he is interested in spotting into my property.

Just more drama.

The insurance claim guys are supposed to be here this AM for more roof work. That's the claim that got legally messing with the insurance company and various contractors since March. And the big job has not even started yet. LOL.

If it dries up enough, I may cut the grass again. I told the wife last night I am marking it down on the calendar because it is unbelievable to me that I am still cutting grass in mid-November.

Hope all have a great day today. Be safe.

Morning all, 34 and cloudy, getting to mid 40s
Worked late so no garage work done, just ordered more parts. Amazing how expensive building materials are, even after prices came down a bit, a small bit it seems.

Wngsprd - the wild dangerous hikes through wegmans. be careful out there

Drew - I took in a few of the last tomatoes, left them on the counter and they eventually ripened.

back to work, then need to start getting outlet boxes off the first garage wall and make sure I have enough space to order/receive the 30 foam boards.

Stay safe and be well,

These vultures are huge, big enough to scare the dog when they take off. All seem to have left, for now.

Good Morning.
33 and going to 40 today, clear to partly cloudy skies and no rain or snow.

Didn’t do too much yesterday after getting home, finished up equipment maintenance with the exception of the tractor, might get to that today. Wife is going off to a 3 day “fiber festival” to display and sell her alpaca goods. I’ll be loading up the trailer for her after I hook it up and give it a good pre trip inspection. Other than that, nothing planned.

Good morning! 45˚F, the wind will start to come from the South again warm up to 59˚ this afternoon, that's when I'll mow the yard but before that the Kia gets a new battery.

The outdoor batteries took a beating this Summer. The Kia's start/stop function has stopped working like the Ranger's when the battery cannot keep a high enough charge. No trouble starting but a good pre-indicator to get the battery changed soon. Batteries in the Texas heat are lasting about 3.5 years, their warranty of course is 3 years.

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 5:15AM.
Some clouds this morning will give way to generally sunny skies for the afternoon. High 64F. Winds light and variable.

TBN seemed to be down for a bit for me this morning. Anyone else?

Shortened battery, and starter, life is a predictable consequence of that insane start/stop scheme to save gas, Don. How much do you have to save to replace a $200 battery or $300 starter?

Found and fixed a bad network cable yesterday, which seems to have helped with a flakey connection to a remote switch. A new Network Video Recorder finally finished setting up the drives, took more than 24 hours. Streaming images is now much faster and smoother, and there's oh so much more room to keep them. And it'll handle a lot more cameras.

Started a spline lube on the new red motorcycle yesterday, and found the transmission to be in good shape after it was pulled from the bike. Sure was dirty on the outside, though. A trip to the parts washer eventually got it cleaned up. With the back of the engine exposed, I'll renew the main engine seal and oil pump o-ring today, then start putting it all back together.

The transmission I purchased a couple weeks ago showed up yesterday, somewhat loose in the box. FedEx had managed to break it free from the wooden brace the seller had made, but otherwise the transmission seems to be intact. I'll know more later when I have a chance to take a closer look at at.

Town run this morning, then back out into the garage after it has a chance to warm up a bit.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Good luck with the insurance scammers.

You can save 3-5% if you drive in a lot of stop start traffic, a quick google search shows. But in the Texas heat it always start's back up before the light changes to green, so not even that much, plus I disable it, form its default on, each trip when I remember. However according to Wiki idling uses 3.9 billion gallons of gasoline a year and the start stop feature eliminates the idle time.

The Prius was the first vehicle I had that used this feature.

I think the only use is to warn you of a low battery so you can replace the battery before you get stranded.

Good morning! 28 now, may get to 35 today.

We got our first snow last night. Maybe 1/2”, the drive, sidewalks, and road are clear. The house is toasty…..the wood burner is doing its job.

Not sure what I will get into today. Likely what ever I decide to do will somehow morph into something totally unrelated. Yesterday was one of those days. Started out with plans to do some more work on the trailer interior, ended us spending hours making a Lycette sprung pillion seat look right and fit a bike correctly. It was truly a PIA.

Everyone stay safe out there!

40º going to 70º. This is what we pay for to live here. ;)
Spent part of the last 2 days diggin up a yard drain. Tractor and Bobcat did 90º of the heavy digging. Seems the eucalyptus tree roots squished the plastic pipe flat... probably with the help of the expansive clay soil.
I'll finish excavation of the pipe today and cut out the damaged section and test the upstream flow. If all goes well I plan to relay the pipe replacing a sharp 45º bend with a 36" electrical sweep... we will see how that goes. If successful it should make snaking the drain much easier. This drain is subject to a debris from Eucalyptus trees and pea rock from the dog pen where it originates. Have a great day !
