Randy(wag) hope you can stack wood in rain.
Nope! I mean I could but, being retired, why bother. :) I did accomplish a fair amount to day...

Only one 'wood scorpion' encountered so far. I was surprised the first time, years ago, when I found that scorpions live in Tasmania. But that's why I always wear long-sleeve shirts and riggers-gloves when stacking.

It was rough hearing about Roy's passing... so much so that I waited until 'confirmation'. RIP.

Not much planned for today, dump run this morning and putter around the rest of the day.

Rest in peace Roy, prayers for family and friends

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone will have a great weekend!

Coffee has finished brewing. 33° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 41° with some rain showers in afternoon. Got started on leaf cleanup by rolling garbage can slowly dying. Added a pair of wear pads on bottom of can. Garbage company says they will replace any damage to there can. After you spend $100 for a new can. While they work hard to destroy your can. I am winning so far. Fridge tech showed up early. Found Compressor us bad. New one on order. Back at leaf cleanup up and water spicket shut off today.
Very well fed Squirrel.

Roy is going to be missed. He was very active here on GM thread.

Buckeye, not having any bills will make life easier for retirement. It's been over 18 years since I retired at 62. Health insurance was very expensive the first 3 years. Then Medicare started. Big savings. But now it is going up because of my age. Taxes are going up on property. I have no plans on selling. It's where I keep active. Hope you can work it out. Working parttime like Thomas helps.

Don, I think I need to ask you to close the door. Last 2 days it has been 70° and upper 60°. Now it's going to be freezing almost every night and snow next week. This is the time of year I packed up the motorhome and headed down your way.

Everyone stay well and safe.

Good Morning All.

very warm 66 out now, high of 68 while Wunderground has a freeze warning out for Sunday night.
Ten day forecast has a 23 in it.
I need to find a peach basket to put over a plant outside.

time for breakfast, then get organized for electrician coming in a few hours.
Need to move stuff out of his way, put towels down. Opening that ceiling trap door in my spotless
guest bedroom is a concern, been forever likely since it's been open. Think I'll put a tarp on the bed.

of course, there may be a chest of gold doubloons up there.
Actually will be interesting to see how little insulation is in the attic.
Would be pretty easy to blow in some more insulation, window near that attic pull down, but first need to get the new
bathroom vent fan in. Really hope the fan goes all the way up and not just dumps into attic.

Good morning, 59 now going to 69. Very warm and rain is gone. Daughter with hip replacement continues to do well. Daughter with new restaurant job has started and doing well and happy. Son with PTSD doing well. Wife has escaped the infection so far. I am over it but still masking indoors just in case. Neighbor with property line issue is AWOL. Thumb on excavator will not retract so need to check it out. The service requirement for the KX 033-4 are very minimal. For instance first engine oil change is at 500 hours.

Some of the leaves are still hanging on the trees:

Good morning!

Bethal Vermont - 63˚ F raining, no dump run.
Who will do Roy's dump run?

This is the time of year, and the next few months when I'd compare weather forecast with Roy's to see how much better off we are and why we endure the Summer heat. But this morning the temps have been reversed. 63 and 36.

Central Texas - 36˚F cloudy - wind chill 28˚F - Freeze tomorrow morning.
Our garbage pick-up came yesterday but the recycle pick-up did not because of the storming rain, hopefully they will come today so I can bring the garbage can in from the curb.

Need to protect some plants and cover the outside faucets today, maybe run by the gym and try to get this plantar fasciitis stretched out and healed. No ill effects from the flu shot yesterday.

My dad knew a Canadian during WW2, his name was John Deer. Not sure of exact spelling, but dad never forgot his name.

The news show where my dad was interviewed for a Veterans Day special is now online. It was good. Here’s pic from it.

My FIL went through World War I conscripted into the German Army from another country and was in the fighting on the Eastern and Western front. Wounded himself to get sent to hospital and then escaped. He had PTSD and suffered a lot but it was not treated in those days. He seldom talked about it

ronjhall said, "Garbage company says they will replace any damage to there can. After you spend $100 for a new can. While they work hard to destroy your can."

Our garbage collection guys make no effort at all to take care of any cans or containers. They provide a fine container for the stuff to be recycled AND they make no efforts to go easy on that container either BUT if that one gets damaged, you can call and they'll come get it and deliver a new one. But for the garbage . . . well, I just use some good plastic bags for ours.

We had a rainy weekend, but supposed to be clear and sunny today, however the temperature is currently 34°, and I need to run to a couple of stores this morning for a few things. It's time to break out a winter jacket.

61° and sunny. Got 1.43” rain.

I got 10 miles in on my exercise bike yesterday. Been awhile.

I will be leading some songs today at a funeral service, for a member’s mom.

Still in shock about Roy.

Got a big mess of leaves to clean up when it dries up. Not today.

36º in Southern CA this AM. time the disconnect and drain the water line for the swamp cooler in the garage.
Will do a little dirt work moving and leveling in the side yard since the dirt got wet this past week. 1.75 inches of rain in NOV is a gift.
Everything needed a drink.

Until I got asked to help with a funeral today, I had planned to run down to the VA land this weekend to get some metal poles put in the ground at all the septic stakes, and at the corners before the little pink flags disappear. Will try to go next weekend now. Another example of where working gets in the way of personal desires.

I’m gonna be thinking of Roy today at this funeral. Hope I can lead the songs.
