Dennis, running those number can be interesting exercise. Don’t know how many times I’ve run them, before, during, & after. Likely a very important consideration for young guys is health insurance costs. We opted to take SS at 62 with goal to payoff house. Guess we are as close to debt free as we can. While I sometimes “drool” over what the full amount would be, reality is that extra little bit wouldn’t contribute to necessities, most likely be spent foolishly or enlarge the inheritance. But I sure don’t miss the days when the month outlasted the bank account.

think I’ll be retiring very soon.

52°F was our high today at midnight, and it's been dropping all day. Windy and 32° right now. Our warm days are behind us now.

Been awhile since I've had the opportunity to enjoy the company here. Life has been getting in the way.

I read that we've lost another friend. Gonna miss Roy.

I have about 450-ish posts to catch up on. Gonna take awhile. Probably just do the Readers Digest Condensed version and just read Mostly_'s daily summaries.

Good evening, gents.

Good evening, and thanks to all our veterans on this remembrance day. My father was in World War II, and I used to call them every November 11 to thank him for his service. Haven’t been able to do that for the last 10 years, since he passed away (peacefully) at the age of 92 in 2012. He and three of his siblings went to work, and they all came back safely. Many close calls, however. I have always been impressed with how resilient he was in surviving the horrors of war. Our family life was normal, and he never seem to show any signs of what we now know to be post traumatic stress disorder.

Rest in peace, dad.

I had everything paid off until I bought the new Mazda. Well, not entirely, I owe a little on the ZT, only because I keep KTAC on it until it’s paid off.
Paying for both kids college also put a dent in funds.

But I look at Randy and now Roy passing, and I look at my health, and I keep saying why am I working.

And Buppies just offered me a job.

My dad knew a Canadian during WW2, his name was John Deer. Not sure of exact spelling, but dad never forgot his name.

The news show where my dad was interviewed for a Veterans Day special is now online. It was good. Here’s pic from it.
