Good evening all. 48ºF for the start, clear sky, light breeze. Light to moderate wind, mostly clear sky and high temp was 78ºF. Puttered this morning, went to town with wife for lunch, meds and grocery shopping. Went for bike ride after helping put groceries away, then nap, dinner and fish club meeting.

Buppies, I've been seeing some of that, too...full closing, or reduced hours, and higher prices for less service.

Had a productive day yesterday. My wife and I took her vehicle to the dealer to get its annual inspection...passed, and the dealer still does it free...they did try to sell us a service that was unnecessary, though. I was disappointed, because they had never tried before. They had almost no new vehicle inventory...sad.

Then we went to our favorite Chinese restaurant for lunch. I needed to mail a package of documents to the county clerk's office, so decided to just drop by in person. While there, saw they had early voting underway across the street, so got that done. Never voted absentee or early before. I like going on election day, but my wife said maybe the weather will be bad, etc...so do it now.

After living in this county for decades, had never toured the grounds of the old historic courthouse and jail...pretty cool. Plus, the county has opened a museum, so spent some time there. Also found a short nature trail down to the lake...lots of geese.

Good Morning
It’s 34 and forecast to top 60 today without a cloud in the sky.

Yesterday was busy but productive. Started off with putting up the tent, fortunately there was crew of guys to do it, and they knew what they were doing. They didn’t hesitate to accept my offer to unload the pallets from their truck with my tractor. They used a gas powered driver to put in all the stakes, they were at least 3 feet long. Took some teamwork to put up the center poles.

But it looked good once it was up, actually looks smaller than I expected, but there’s tables for 100 under it, plus a dance floor, so I guess it’s just the size of the field.

The Porta Potty was pretty interesting, it’s a trailer that lowered itself to the ground, equipped with heat and AC, has running water, flushing toilets, and a M,W and HC with a ramp. It needed 3 20a feeds to make it all work. Fortunately, I have a panel box with 300 feet of cable that plugs into a 100a welder outlet, so we had plenty of service available, but I hadn’t planned on dragging it out.

It all got done and the lighting installed well before dark.

Which was good, because it was time to load the smoker with the meat for this evening’s dinner, the tray on top has two pork shoulders, and those are two full packer briskets.

I did pull out the PA equipment for the reception, but only got the smaller stuff moved downstairs, but the speakers and subwoofers are waiting for reinforcements. I was a lot younger when it seemed like storage on the second floor was a good idea.

Sure felt good to get under the covers when I called it a day.

Today should be slower paced. We will get the PA in place, and a smaller system set up by the pond for the ceremony, this afternoon’s rehearsal includes testing the technology with the end users. We did a proof of concept test a week or so ago.

I’ll have to unload the smoker, shred the pork, and wrap the briskets in foil and get it all into the Cambro, probably around noon when it’s ready, it went in at 7 last evening.

Should be a great rehearsal dinner this evening, wife is baking cornbread, DIL is making coleslaw and greens.

It’s time to get moving, have a great day everyone.

headed out to see elderly MIL at nursing home, taking her a big Whitman sampler. She loves her chocolates.
Later today hope to spend a little time with brother at local watering hole.
