Good morning 61 now going to 66 and raining

No outside clean up today too muddy

Will go to the barn this afternoon and poke around a bit and check on supplies for building the 10 by 24 ft firewood storage shed that I am planning to build. I think I have the lumber but not all the screws etc.

70°F and no rain

Finish up my cabinet/countertop this morning. A couple of support cleats and some trim, some cleanup. Still need to grout the tile. Should get a coat of mineral oil on it before I get a stain on it. Need to find what I need for the propane run.

Hand & Foot at our friends later. He only has has new Starlink set up temporarily. I’m sure it will be a topic of discussion.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

There was the 2019 pipeline and now the 2022 pipeline, actually the 4th pipeline for all the people in the path.

Glad you are getting rain. I see the clouds to the south, but it is still dry here.
Don, can I ask if it's a one time payment or settlement, or can you set it up to pay you monthly for as long as the pipeline is there?

55F and partly cloudy @ 13:45, heading up to a high of only 58F for the day ... if we are lucky.

LWS reports 1.03" of rain since midnight and 0.31" yesterday evening (prior to midnight) for a grand total of 1.34" in the last 24 hours. I would say everything is well-watered at this point.

A brisk wind out of the north is making things feel a bit chilly right at the moment.

One upside of the rain - aside from watering stuff that grows - is that the gutters on the barn likely got a good flushing.

The downside is that with the wind there probably now more leaves in them ...

Tomorrow doesn't sound much better than today, with a forecast high of only 60F ... but at least the winds will be out of the southwest.

And the Ten Day is calling for the possibility of snow next Tue/Wed ...

Unsure of plans for the rest of the day.

Doing some cleaning and straightening up of the garage seems like a good possibility.

Need to pull out the torpedo heater and air up it's tires and then move it over to the barn.

Probably see about rounding up more tools that need to go over.

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday ... (y)

Did your laser level come with a grade stick and detector? They work even when you can't see the line, but accuracy isn't as good.

RNG,

No it did not.

It's a fairly low cost unit that lacks those amenities:

Self-Leveling 360 Degree Green Cross Line Laser with Tripod

The unit I borrowed from my friend here - a Northwest Instruments NSL 200 - does have a remote detector and a grade stick though. It's red laser isn't terribly bright however.

I was mainly interested - at least initially - in getting all the poles marked at floor level so I could install an interior skirt board so that the concrete guys would have something to run a screed on.

Wanted to do that visually with an illuminated laser line ... rather going through the mental math gymnastics of using the grade stick and detector for 20+ poles.

In talking to a concrete contractor I had come in, he was talking about using ground contact rated PT lumber for the interior skirt board.

Then I watched some YT videos and saw one with The Morgans where they were going to use EPS foam board instead of PT lumber. Kind of liked that idea ... since there is no wood to rot out.

They were planning on installing in-floor radiant heat so insulating the perimeter made quite a bit of sense.

Don't know if I'll go that route or not, but avoiding as much heat loss as possibly would probably be a good thing.

Glad you were able to some the networking issues sorted out and get an RMA on the errant switch ... (y)
