Thomas glad no overtime at work, thought you could mot use backpack blower.
Had good chat with head heart doctor he was fond of the backpack use,but he said "give it try and if you feel something stop" sooo far so good. :)

Absolutely beautiful day here today. After spending a few hours chasing the wind blown leaves across the yard I decided to get the blower installed and operating. Mower is put away and moth balled till next year.
Think it's time for a nap now!

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 11C and the rain started around midnight. There was 19mm in the gauge at 0700 and the predicted High is 15C with continuing rain and high winds (50kph gusts) until early Friday morning.

Now, why I checked my rain gauge at 0700 instead of the usual 0900 is that, for some reason, I woke up early (0610). Standard morning routine and was enjoying my first coffee of the day outside... just enjoying the morning and, subconsciously, surveying the property. I counted the horses = yep, three of them... and then I noticed that the gate to their paddock was WIDE OPEN! BUGGER!!!

So I quickly (and calmly) threw on my wellies/Driza-bone/Akubra and went out to close the gate... a shackle had worked its way loose from the wind, which I found on the ground and was able to re-attach. So, seeing as I was out there anyway, I might as well check the gauge as it was going to rain all day. Lord knows what would've happened with the horses if I had got out of bed later on.

Somewhat lazy day planned, although I have an evening meal/meeting tonight.

That's about it, take care all.

Update: And tonight's meeting has been cancelled & postponed to next week due to the 'extreme' weather event (ie: flooding) going on now.

69°F and no rain.

FedEx was a no show yesterday. Already got a text saying today. Actually spoke with a person about half hour before they cancelled who told me some drivers were still out including mine and they were absolutely slammed with Starlights to deliver.

Today I expect to get my base cabinet fixed in place and the butcher block counter installed. Could be tricky. Either have to make L shaped or install in 2 pieces. Need a good fit to existing countertop. Only get 1 chance to cut right. No hurrying.

Would like to pick the TBN/GM brain.
My current Dish tv equipment is old, expensive to update. Bill has inflated to $166/mon. Now with better internet (Starlink) and seriously thinking about streaming. Very limited experience, Amazon Prime and AppleTV. Would also need something for local news. OA antenna not an option. Would appreciate any input on cutting the cord. Consumer Reports recently had an interesting article on the subject.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
Surprisingly enough, Dish, and Direct TV stream their same programming online now.

There are a few others out there that are cheaper with the same stations including local channels. Heard around $40 for basic, but can't remember the name of App.

Our local utility service (trash, electric, water, sewer, internet) have their own streaming service for the city that is app based. You can access with their box. Or use either a Roku or fire stick enabled TV or stick. Costs $75 for the basic channels. I did notice while setting it up on the Roku that there were quite a few different cable companies with their own app listed.

You might be able to find a company local to your area that has app based programming.

I'm seriously considering asking if we can keep the streaming service when we move back out of the city since there techs can't do anything but log the trouble codes if there is an issue with it.

Good morning! 58˚F heading to the mid 80 with lots of sun. Our rain chances continue to diminish this week as our last rain was Labor Day. Wind will be 11mph from the South today. Strange, the more wind the less dusty at the farm. If there is no wind the road dust just hangs and floats in the same place, it is the wind that takes it away, I did not have to use my wolf snout over the weekend.

I Only had one crying child who absolutely did not want to get off the trailer when his parents got off. I also had two stow aways that snuck off from a Birthday party to ride the trailer and snuck on with some other adults. They were caught when their cover adults got off at the next stop and they needed to keep riding to get back to the birthday party. Their excuse story was that their parents always let them do it, but I had to tell them I did not care what their parents did, my trailer my rules - no parent no ride. They reminded me of something "Leave it to Beaver" would get into.

Drew our early shift begins at 8:30, which is doable but I prefer to get things done around here in the morning and have the afternoon/evening shift. Shifts are a easy 5.5 to 6 hours but up to 8 hours on Friday and Saturday. You can have the early shift.

This week hopefully will be the last week of negotiations with the pipeline easement people on Moms place. Kind of a one sided deal since they have eminent domaine in their back pocket, but I think she will be happy with the contract changes and compensation agreement.
Wasn't this the pipeline from years ago? Seems like a long time to settle?

Nice pics Popgadget and Check!

Work was a grinder, but not the bad kind of stress that people are yelling a lot. Lots on my plate.

Dave, I cut the cable many years ago. But I have OTA local channels for news. And the local channels have side stations like The Game Show channel, 2 crime show channels, MEtv and many others. I'm about 50 miles as the crow flies from the antennas, and some channels fade out when there are temperature inversions (or something like that). The apps to show local news online mostly are crummy. My ABC station's online app is worthless, CBS is better as far as working. I mostly miss the MotoGP racing, other motorcycle races, and baseball games, but now, I don't have that much time to invest in baseball. But lately I just don't have much time for TV. There are no weekly shows I watch on OTA channels. I watch a lot of old WWII videos on Amazon Prime as I go to sleep. My wife will change out monthly from Netflix to Disney, to whatever usually only have 1 sometimes 2 channels like that at a time. So we still pay a little. Sometimes we'll pay $4 to rent a movie online. It just depends on what you want to watch. Roku has some free programming of older sitcoms like Leave it to Beaver (nice segway). Also I Dream of Jeanie (who doesn't like Jeanie?). So we pay a lot less than $166, but our internet is $72/month. But we use that for a lot more than TV.

Did anyone see Astros walkoff homerun in the bottom of the 9th? Wow.

IT'S RAINING! Not sure if we will get .1" or not, but it's been coming down decent for 10 minutes now.

Prayers for our team, the sick, our country, 1st responders, Ukraine, and for putin.

Thanks for the feedback guys. The local Honolulu stations get their signals over to Big Island, but last I checked the mountains keep us from getting a good signal.

RNG, we share similar concerns, but after quite a conversation with Sophie I have to chuckle and ask WHY? I remember as a kid, even regular TV (3 channels) would sometimes go out, either just blank or the dreaded test screen (always midnight til 6am). When I was a sophomore in HS my folks got an 8 party phone line, when I first got internet it was dependent on a dial up modem. Maybe a system outage of a few hours could be survivable? YouTube TV seems a decent candidate that includes local channels. Already have Prime and AppleTV. While my initial thoughts was getting full replacement for Dish even to my rentals, I think providing some free streaming and the ability to log into their own accounts should suffice. Doing so, I can keep separate Starlink for rentals, cancel Dish and about come out even.

Speaking of Starlink, Fedex delivered my ethernet adapter this afternoon. Driver said an easier day, only 80 starlight systems today vs 158 yesterday. Given we only hear about this portion of the island, I would suspect we’ve only heard of maybe 1/3 the load.

Time consuming, even a bit a PITA at times. Measure, remeasure, measure again, because you only cut once.

IT'S RAINING! Not sure if we will get .1" or not, but it's been coming down decent for 10 minutes now.
There was the 2019 pipeline and now the 2022 pipeline, actually the 4th pipeline for all the people in the path.

Glad you are getting rain. I see the clouds to the south, but it is still dry here.

60F and cloudy @ 23:30, had a brief, hard downpour earlier, currently a moderate, steady rain. LWS reports 0.31 accumulation so far. Looking at the radar just now, we'll get more before it's all said and done.

Woman and I ran down to Menards earlier and picked up order then swung by Harbor Freight on the way back and grabbed a digging bar, stopped at the shop on the way into the house and put a sharp edge on it with an angle grinder and flap disc.

Also stopped by grocery and grabbed eggs + half and half + stuff for Sloppy Joe's for dinner.

She ran down to Mickey D's after we got back and grabbed up a couple of Fillet O' Fish and fries for our lunch.

Got everything (except for the groceries which went in the house) all unloaded and moved over to the barn except for the 8 sheets of OSB. Those can stay in the back of the van for now.

Plus rounded up more tools from the house and took them over to the barn as well. Still have a few things to locate like my pry bar.

Amazon dropped off the Skil Laser Level (and Her soap) after we got back. It just finished charging, going to set it up and give it a test drive here in a few to check it out.

Got everything pretty much moved back inside the barn before the rain started, we tarped the one pallet of steel shelving I left outside.

Even moved the scissor lift inside the barn. Thankfully it cleared the door.

Woman visited with neighbor lady who was walking her dogs and did some clean up around back while I was moving things into the barn

Neighbor lady offered up some turkey stew for dinner so we took her up on the offer, Woman went over and ate and then brought me back my portion and then returned to watch some tv with her, while I rested on the couch, ate dinner, and caught some shows on PBS until She got back. I also fed all the cats while she was gone.

Laser level looks good so far, nice, bright solid green line all the way around the room. Will have to see how it does in the barn during the day and at longer distances, but from all indications I think it will work just fine and will be handy to have for a number of projects coming up in the next few months.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

เมืองพัทยา, จังหวัดชลบุรี, ประเทศไทย :: Humid and Partly Cloudy 30.2C/86.4F (Humidity: 64%) | Feels like: 34.3C/93.7F | Wind: 8.63mph/13.9kph N | Wind gust: 11.72mph/18.9kph | Thursday: Humid and partly cloudy throughout the day. High 30.6C/87.0F. Low 24.6C/76.2F. | Friday: Humid and overcast throughout the day. High 30.0C/85.9F. Low 23.7C/74.6F.

Heat is beating me, the sun is hot on my skin. Humidity is pretty rough too.

Heavy rain tomorrow. 2 days ago we received a monsoon which flooded most roads with at least a foot of water. Some areas had 3' of standing water. Hopefully the rain in the next couple days won't be so bad.

Good morning, low temp 53 and the high? will be 50°F.
Wind SW 7 mph. The high wind warning yesterday didn't happen, so they say it will happen this morning.

It was raining when I got up this morning, so no wood going into the basement today.

My old V plow that was made for a Farmall A has been resurrected with a SSQA and it will be going onto the Kioti IF we get any deep snow this winter.
The front half of my drag disks is now a 3 point hitch drag disk and it fluffed up the driveway nicely.
The Back Blade now has extra holes, so more adjustment for plowing snow and grading the driveway. It worked good yesterday.

The Backhoe and Z-turn are both stored for the winter.

If I use the theory of one tractor for each implement then I am 6 tractors short. I had better pick the right 6 numbers.

My cold is breaking up nicely. It is in my head now, at least it is gone from my chest.

I've got a town and dump run to do today, then hibernate until the end of the month.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
a cloudy 62 going up to 70 in Milton DE, rain coming in mid morning.
hard to type because of first class paper cut/line cut I got from grabbing the largest kite
yesterday at the beach by the line. Now I see why they say wear gloves. Wow did we have fun. Both the giant black octopus and the long green snake made it airborne, but the octopus was the prize. I have pics but will take me a bit getting them off camera onto laptop. Lots of older folks on Lewes beach, they came over and said they really enjoyed the kites. The octopus was 30 feet long and the snake was over 50. Great fun for kids of all ages.

then we sat on beach for a little while, mostly deserted, quietly had an illegal glass of wine among us and enjoyed the breeze. Lovely beach day

no plans for today other than yakking and catching up. My friends are about to buy their first rv trailer. He thought his Honda Ridgeline could tow a small trailer but it almost overheated all by itself coming over the Rockies, just not designed for towing no matter what they claim. So after 60k miles his very nice Ridgeline will get sold and he is going to buy a 3-4 year old Ecoboost Ford F150. Am guessing GVW will be around 5k pounds.

Fatjay, welcome. What part of Pa are you in? Your temps are a lot warmer than mine.
