Damned if I didn't take another fall yesterday.

Sorry to hear about your fall yesterday. That is one of the risks as we get older that injures many.
Lately I have focussed on doing daily squats, leg and balance exercises and it is actually helping a lot

need to start giving away more tomatoes, they are piling up. Will probably take some to church on Sunday and give them away.

I can identify with that. Our menu change with what is available from the garden. See yesterday's lunch dish below with tomatoes from the garden. But we still have more than we can eat

Good Morning
It’s 58 with a high of 82 under sunny skies today.

Yesterday was a great day to work outside, but I didn’t get much done. Some more research on the solar array and siting it in a place where it would pass the wife’s aesthetic test and function well. It seems that those locations might be mutually exclusive.
Got some questions answered, I was surprised to learn that the feed from the array to the inverter was 1000 VDC. I was expecting much lower, and that the inverter would be near the array with a long AC feed to the grid, but it’s the opposite. High voltage DC for the long run.

Today will be some more outside chores, have to unload bags of grain and fill the bins, need to load wife’s car for the farmers market tomorrow, first one since her surgery. They will unload it and help her set up, we’ll see how it goes.

I can identify with the thin skin of an old man, by my issue is with tearing more than bruising. After I finish working on something, I usually have to wipe the blood off the tools and the project.

The little nick on the right hand is an artifact from Drew’s Gravely a week or two ago. Not sure what got the left hand. But this is typical of what they look like.

It’s a good thing that a bass keeps my fingers well calloused, or I’d have shredded fingertips as well.

11.03 amps running on full heat, about .1 amp when not.
I turn it off manually every night. Gizmo tracks on time and juice used, not total time.
I need to study the manual more.

sump pump plugged into same outlet. Not good. I can't easily trip the sump pump due to a yukky lid on it or I would have put
the gizmo on that line also. Pretty sure it's way more than 4 amps on startup pumping water.
Which means I have to remember to turn off the hot tub if a storm is coming. Hmmm.
Panel box absolutely full so no more new lines run easily.

only other available outlet for sump pump is the 110VAC outlet behind washer where it plugs in.
I think the question is if I have to disconnect something temporarily, what would it be? I think the washing machine.
Only use it once a week usually.

And the moral of the story is obvious, the last one you disconnect ever is the sump pump.
Because you will forget to plug it back in.

Good morning! 67˚F warming quickly to 90 with lots of sun.
On the way to Mom's yesterday notice countryside is green again form the rains a week ago. It looks like the ranchers will get one more cut of hay in October.

When it drops below 70˚ in the morning and only 90 in the afternoon Fall is here!
Need to do some caulking today around the house where different materials meet after the extreme temperature changes this year.

Roy, too many falls on that step, definitely need a rail, but it won't help if you don't have a free hand to grab hold of it.

Flags are half mast in the neighborhood starting yesterday to honor the Queen.

My employment app is jumping with notifications of work opportunities in the activities section of the farm and pumpkin patch.

One thing I remember from power systems classes is DC is better for long distance transmission. The problem with using DC for that is short circuit interruption, AC is easy to interrupt.

My wife does not like the looks of solar panels. I would want to ground rack them over the hill out of sight, which is then longer distance. I’m waiting for my retirement house to install. Might be a long wait

Good morning. Cooling off significantly in S.CA. Coastal Hurricane Kay made landfall in Baja Mexico. Hopefully bringing much needed rain to this area. 30-40 mph winds fanning the flames of the now 24k acre Fairview wildfire in the rugged San Jacinto Mtn foothills just east of us. Mandatory evacuation line just a 1/4 mile away - we set at the ready. Hopefully the rain gets here before the fire. Both predicted for today. Pray for the firefighters and the people in it's path. Thank you
