Going to do curbside pick up for groceries this morning. Loading up an exercise bike that we are giving to one of our kids. She has a hip replacement surgery scheduled so she will use it in her recovery.Today is the weekly Methotrexate medication day for wife. Hope the side effects are minimal this week.

Good Morning all. 72º and going to 110º
That's no joke. Not a drop of rain in months.
All the rains stayed north of us so far.

Good Morning!!!! 73F @ 4:30AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 102F. Winds light and variable.

Good luck with the tub, Drew. If the floor is rough, a layer of inexpensive foam underlayment from HD might help. You'll figure something out...

Ups and downs in town yesterday. DMV clerk didn't want to issue a refund, but a supervisor provided a request form that will get sent up the line for approval. Pretty sure I just ran into someone having a bad day there.

No crank bolts in stock at motorcycle dealer; the dearly departed owner is probably spinning in his grave. Old time mechanic there says old bolts are reusable, but everything I've ever read about them says one time use only. I left them with the message that if they can't keep parts in stock, it makes no sense for me to have to make two trips to them if I can have them delivered via mail order, saving time and money. I did place an order for them when I got home, and should have them next week. No tax and free shipping...

Struck out at automotive paint store, even after using spectrometer on tank paint, which didn't work for some reason this time. There's a specialty shop in Ohio I've used in the past, but oh my gosh are their prices dear.

Careless forklift driver tried his best to bust up the pallet under the land plane, and it was all I could do to suggest he readjust the forks to fit. Finally got it loaded, and it rode nicely all the way home. Too hot to do anything with it, so unloadingis #1 on the schedule for this morning. Thinking I'll just lift it out of the trailer with the forks and some straps or chains.

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Morning all, a little rain, even though it cooled us off, the humidity never left, so not the nicest day.
Son seemed happy with first day back at school.

Maybe work on the backup Simplicity today, get the tires filled and start it up and see if the oil add worked for the tranny, or if it needs to come off for a rebuild.

Drew - if you need help, let me know, should be available late afternoons, or early on Sunday.

Good Morning
It’s 66 with a high of 82 forecast. A nice sunny day after the cold front blew through yesterday evening, leaving us only 1/8” of rain. Areas around us got heavy showers, but we seem to have rain diverters here.

Yesterday, I accomplished nothing other than flying up and down the northeast coast, and having a good meal at Mission BBQ. I had a nice chat with the person that operates their smokers, not sure if I’d call him a pitmaster, as he really has to follow the script, but he was knowledgeable about their equipment and processes.

Stopped at a friends to pick up some “Free” penetrant from Certified Labs. He swears it’s the best penetrant that they have ever tried, including Kroil, PB Blaster, Etc. I’ll report back after I’ve tested it. Once I got home, i pretty much crashed for the night.

Drew, putting some foam insulation under the tub sounds like sound advice to me, it will provide padding, protection and a thermal break as well.

About to go out to breakfast with the professor, wife is going to join us, as she has someone doing the barn work while she recuperates.

I got that land plane last year. Thought I was going to smooth the road with it but it dug too deep for me. seems it would be good if you need to redo a road. I'll keep dragging the box blade over it to cut the washboard off - when it ever rains again.
Found the land plane exceptional at weed abatement assuming no rocks. There is a learning curve here.

Ken, are you good at Chinese pictograms?
you bet I'd like your help. (y)

foam sounds like a great idea. No sense heating the concrete below. even a piece of carpet would help.
Ken, I'm committed at church Sunday morning so you name the afternoon that works well for you. I need to gather supplies today, like a drain hose,
plumbing y. and something to put underneath.

admit I'm torn here, which to work on first...gravely goes back tomorrow morning early so really have to get that done first.

1/2 inch is R3, one inch is R5. Wonder what a piece of carpet would be?
plus 200 gallons times 7 pounds crushing down on this.
I don't think this insulation material was made to have that weight on top of it?...

57°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 86° today. No more rain in our forecast until next Friday.

Last full work day this week. Taking the afternoon off tomorrow, and we always get sent home early here on the Friday before a holiday.

Good morning, gents.

I had a similar conversation with my local Guitar Center a few years ago. "I could have done that from home" I believe was the quote. I've only been back in there once since, and that was to pick up a speaker cabinet I'd ordered online from a different store. They charged me shipping from store to store, so there's no reason to ever do that again either.
