Good Morning
74 going to 90 again chance of t storms later in the day.

Yesterday started with a visit from Drew and his friend Bill.
We were able to check off all the items on Drew’s list pretty quickly.
Bill is a Gravely guy, so when we were finished I took him down to shed and showed him the gravely stuff that I still had. I gave a lot away over the years, but there is still one that was converted to Honda power and a handful of attachments.

I puttered around for the rest of the day got a few things taken care of.

Not much productive will happen today, I’ve got to go to Newport News and Portland, ME to pick up the people I dropped off last week. At least I’ll get both trips done today with only one commute to the airport. Then I shouldn’t have to venture out for a while.

Good Morning!!!! 75F @ 4:30AM. Sunny. High near 100F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
A Excessive Heat Warning is posted starting Saturday, lasting through Tuesday. Just what we need for the Labor Day holiday weekend. My plans call for heading to the coast and maybe finding some cooler air.

Looking forward to the hot tub install, Drew.🍿Thanks for sharing those fine memories, too.

Ran a couple of fuel flow tests on the touring bike yesterday, and all checked out fine. Found an article that recommended drilling a hole in the fuel cap to improve tank venting, so did that as a belt-and-suspenders precaution. But still don't think I've found a smoking gun for the fuel starvation problem.

Running the new red bike up and down the driveway in the trailer left it covered in a thick layer of dust, so both it and the touring bike got a bath yesterday. Then I noticed that the rack on the red bike was bent, along with the saddle bag brackets. Got a start straightening them out, but need to find my four foot pry bar to finish the job. Haven't seen it in months, so I've put it in a place where it wouldn't get lost, and now it is.🤬🤣

Cooled off under the patio shower with a margarita late yesterday afternoon; it really hit the spot.🍸

Looks like the land plane landed at the freight terminal this morning, so I'll try to get ahold of someone over there and see if I can pick it up today. And run a few other errands in town while I'm there.

The garden tiller engine was not repairable since parts were no longer available. Replaced the Italian Acme engine on the BCS tiller with a Kohler engine that has parts and support. It works great and has electric start . Also the tiller has differential lock when needed and the ability to brake each wheel to make turns easy

Good morning! 70 now, just rained again. Supposed to get to 77 today. Had several short, heavy rains yesterday.

Put up a HF LED light in the garage. Pretty impressive light from a single tube. When they go on sale again, gonna pick up some more. Then retire some more fluorescent fixtures.

Made a stone guard for the race bike radiator. Got serious about cleaning up the electrical system. Some people should never be allowed near wires!

And puttered about. Guess today will bring the same.

Spent a lot of time holding onto a Kohler powered Gravely when I was young. Sometimes think about getting one to screw around with, but then remember I have enough stuff to putter with!

Everyone stay safe out there

62°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 88° today. Storms passing through yesterday brought some cooler air and lower humidity, both welcome. Going to warm back up into the 90s later this week and the weekend. Most of the rain missed us either north or south, but we did get a little here and there.

Nice memories, Drew.

Good morning, gents.

This one is coming from Everything Attachments, SC. They said 3-4 months wait when I ordered. I think I could have found a Land Pride in stock somewhere if I didn't want to wait, but with all the rocks in the ground here, I didn't want to take a chance with anything less. Their box blade I've been using and abusing has suffered nothing but lost paint so far.

One of our adopted kids was the primary care taker of our goats when she lived at home. She milked them daily and had a close bond to them. During her overseas travels and assignments she always sends us back pictures of goats that she run across. We have pictures from Middle East, Afghanistan, and many other countries and even pictures of Reindeers from the arctics. The picture below is from Morocco where the goats are climbing trees to eat nuts. Who said goats do not climb trees?

Good Morning. 55 this morning, with a hint of fall. Rented the lift yesterday and was able to finish the roof "repair" job. Most of the pulling out nails on the "good" side pounded down into good wood well. Still some soft areas of that wall and top plates to fix underneath, but I can do that from inside. I even finished up early enough to get the tree trimming (dead 6" limbs, 20 feet up) done. Rest and cleanup today.

Getting ready for a work demo. Hopefully my part is just to answer questions the boss can’t. New software part of our AS9100 stuff. I test it, so I’m now the expert. Not even for my division at work.
Roy would know about this stuff probably.

Interesting life living on a boat Drew.

3 hours of mowing, got done what I needed to, fuel light blinking on mower. Get about 3 hours to a tank.
I had more gas but called it a morning.
Mower put away, now sitting down to stop sweating and head out to Lowes to get hot tub. I tried to call them and arrange for them to bring it out of back, they kept asking for my parking space number.
oh well, will go down and be patient. Want to eyeball box to make sure no damage before accepting it.

I ordered a bunch of accessories for this thing, it had better work. Headrest, seat, chemicals, step, etc
met the painter who hopefully will paint basement for reasonable price.
Then I was thinking of getting those foldable screens, like the Japanese stuff, at least stop the view of the oil burner...

67°F and .19 inches rain.

Another 4 hours with the flail and the outside areas essentially done. Almost, I did forget 1 small area outside the fence, about half an hour worth I’ll get that today.

Got a small area in the old garden I need to cut down before I hit with tiller.

Need to paint some 2x4’s for a lattice frame, might get to that. 2 coats.

Maybe spend some time with tape measure in the tractor shed, that potential mod is bugging me

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

92 out, thermometer in sun says 100
finally got everything done, hot tub to basement with brother's help, no energy to even look in the box.
looks like storms later, front moving in, may be something or nothing, but humid again outside.
yawning like mad but too hot and sweaty for a nap

nice crimper showed up and a selection of heat shrink crimp connectors. Thank you for skimping on the one inch of tape that would have held
the cheesy plastic box closed; instead the entire contents of box was in bottom of amazon bag. I couldn't deal with it, set it aside.

76F and currently partly cloudy, calling for a high of around 79F today. Was 71F and raining earlier when I got up.

Got area food plot area mostly tilled yesterday but rain arrived earlier than expected so didn't get the seed sown. Got a bunch more rocks picked up as well.

Will take some sun and a couple of days for it to dry out enough to do anything with it.

Did manage to get the clean up done in front of the garage and the entryway after tilling, just as the rain arrived so avoided the mess that would have been.

Agenda for the rest of the day:

Refill hopper and 1 suet feeder.

Move plants out of the garage (that The Woman moved back in yesterday prior to the clean up ... )

Refill Water Buffalo. Now heading into a stretch where they're not calling for any rain anywhere in the Ten Day.

Maybe mow food plot/compost/wood lot later once it dries up some and finish up what I didn't get to down here around the house.

Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday ... (y)

time to go down in the fairly cold basement and open the hot tub box, see what the instructions call for.
Looking for another water spigot, can always undo washing machine if need be but I think there is one more hiding.
Problem is it's before the water filters, not after and I definitely want filtered water going into tub.

trying to place it so if it leaks it will go directly to sump pump and not near appliances or stored stuff. Almost everything I have in cellar is on a pallet or a shelf.
My dehumidifier has a comfort setting at about 50 % humidity. If I leave the unit on constantly, it gets down to about 42% humidity. Those are my pre-hot tub
numbers, will watch after it is set up and see if it is creating a problem.

this thing may be a glorified kiddy pool. At least it will get hot.
After all that mowing this morning and a day in the heat that was just too long, I'd like to
soak in that tub right now. I want to read the instructions and see if I need my young friend to come over and build it or provide another set of hands.
I might want to lay a tarp down on the bare concrete first. Then a bunch of soft throw rugs around it leading to the stairs.
Houston, we have lift off. Destination to be determined.

Drew just put a gated wye on your washing machine hook up for your tub if the other spigot is not on the filter run.
