Paul, that’s become my preferred way to cook corn on the cob.

We sure could!!

We could too. Haven’t had a decent rain since power washing the roof. Catchment still not hooked up as I’d like the gutters to get a good flushing of the bleach soap application even though it was pw with plain water. Fortunately, with 16k gal tanks I’m not concerned.

btw, I saw an Indian/Thai food truck there but nothing marked Vegan.
Overwhelming smell of cotton candy at times. I think you can inhale calories that way...
This is not Mrs Popgadget's stand, but wow there were four alpaca stands there.

Dodge inevitably is phasing out their Hellcats for new even faster EVs. But what about good noises for us motorheads?
Well they have that covered too it seems. The Fratzonic exhaust. Get a new name Dodge...
let's see, a pump pressing air. Don't they call that a horn?

Dubbed the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, this system replaces the traditional exhaust note with a facsimile. Without revealing details—again—Dodge says it’s not just a speaker churning out simulated combustion noise. It’s likely some sort of pump that pushes air through a device to generate sound. In a world of nearly silent EVs, Dodge promises this one will be loud: 126 dB—that’s the same peak noise rating as your current Charger SRT Hellcat.

It won't be long until they record the sound of old cool engines and allow us a menu selection.
I've joked about this before. It's coming...
If you could row through the gears, what sound would you like to listen to?
let's see, we have the GM and Ford small block guys, the hemi guys and of course a flat plane crank guy or two. I personally do not like the F1 sound.
but who doesn't want to drive a Ferrari so sure put an older one in with mechanical Webers wailing flat out.

and then your child comes along and snorts how lame you are and you really need the Arch Avenger space warrior blast off sound.
while you would prefer a quiet Engage...with a defeat on the Fratzonic.

Back in place
Paint a bit softer than I’d have liked, but can dry in place

I had put this off too long, but tank solid, just surface rust and blistered paint.

This is a Sears tank, purchased 2006. Keeps pressure well so guessing bladder still in good shape.

never tried, could use a lesson
soak the corn in water first?
thanks

Nope, plenty of Google instructions. I simply clean off the outter husk down to nice clean & tight. Place in microwave for appropriate time according to your taste 5-7 minutes usually for us.
Remove and cut off the stalk end. Need to get above the corner. Then just grab from top and shake out. Usually all silk comes with it. If you didn’t cut quite high enough it can be a challenge, but solvable.

Some progress on the Jeep... got the transmission kick-down cable replaced, but not without a struggle and some choice words....

I am still thinking about tracking down the assembly line worker that put this cable in originally..... why in the world would you put 2 super strong zip ties in an area that you can't even fit your hand ?

I had to disassemble the ignition coil rail, remove a portion of the main wire harness, and remove some a/c brackets. Even then, I could barely get a razor knife to score the tie.... then a 12" long screw driver to break it away!
I reinstalled the new one in a different route!

Since I had the transmission opened up, it would be a good time to change the filter. So off to the store to get one.... didn't even think about a filter until I opened it up. Luckily it was in stock.

Then my luck changed for the worse..... I noticed there was a storm up by "our mountain".... and it was pouring! I got about a mile from home when it hit. The bad luck was that I had my tools still outside by the Jeep. And to top it off.... the garage doors were open.....

I got soaked through in about 30 seconds, just grabbing the tools. Called it quits for the day. Took a nice warm shower and ate dinner.

I'm not complaining about the rain at all. There was a 1/2" in the gauge in 20 minutes. Temp is currently at 63° for the high so far.....

Drew, you sure know how to punish a guy...... really? -- posting a pic of a cheesesteak and Goodnoes ice cream. You made me cry... almost. I would have if you also posted a pic of a Philly soft pretzel.....

David, the tank looks great! At first glance, I thought it was a compressor tank when I saw the 'Craftsman' label.
Hope you get some rain....lack of rain is kind of unheard of at your place.

Ken, hope you get a chance to go to the grange and have some fun / food. Just don't post any pics of the food.....

This is not Mrs Popgadget's stand, but wow there were four alpaca stands there.

She had a separate tent for her exhibit for at least a decade, but her back issues wouldn’t allow her to continue. The 4H group in your picture is the one that she started many years ago.
She is scheduled for surgery next week, hopefully it will bring her some relief.

Seems like this discussion is similar to my situation being retired and a tinker with tools and equipment. Kids are long gone and just my wife and myself with some land and old farm with bank barn, log cabins etc. Nice morning after the rain last night.View attachment 758763

How ya doing neighbor. Think we chatted in another thread before.

Us also, but sometimes the silk doesn’t all come off. We do 5 for 8 minutes.

My parents had a 4H club for many years.
