good morning all. 68 going to 88 in clouds today, possible showers tonight. Hope so.
hope to get my friend out of hospital today, maybe, they found nothing of interest scoping him.
Now they are going to have him swallow a pill camera for a closer look.

now there's a terrible job of retrieval for the nurse....

think I'll be picking a number of nice tomatoes today, they were ripening yesterday.
Unlike squash, everyone likes tomatoes...

think I might pull all the potatoes out of the raised garden. Bugs got them, not very attractive. Hope the ones I'm growing in the potato
bags will be free from bugs.

74 cloudy, rained earlier this morning and most of yesterday...remnants of PJ's rain now a stationary front over us.

PJ hope things are better in your area.

Since yesterday was so wet, my wife and I went to eat lunch at new place...Wong's Tacos...a fusion of Mexican and Asian...pretty interesting food. Then over to the mega-grocery store for a nice long walk and shopping.

Did they have names for the "interesting" new menu items? Any vegan options? I also looked for the train's menu but could not find it. Looks like a fine train ride especially during a colorful Fall.

Good morning! 76˚F Cloudless sky but they are predicting clouds this afternoon and maybe only a high of 101˚.

Gasoline was $3.859 a gallon yesterday and with my discount $3.659, but it still took $70 to fill the tank. I now have 404 miles of range, better range than a battery vehicle.

I got the request yesterday from the farm down the road and I scheduled an interview time in August. They are getting ready for the Fall Festival in September, this ought to be fun. Who would have thought to actually get paid for seat time! That's one step better than now which is no expense for seat time.

I Need to head to the garden to see if my okra has bloomed before the daily oven doors open up.

Good morning.
It’s 69 and going to 85 with a mix of sun and clouds today.
So far this month, every approaching line of weather has either dissipated or split as it it approached us leaving it crunchy dry here.

Yesterday was spent mostly in the shop, mostly doing small maintenance tasks. While I was out to lunch I watched an Asplundh crew drop a 100 foot tall dead oak tree that was in a very tight spot between a building, wires and a road. They had completely limbed it as it stood, and dropped it in one piece. There was only one place it could safely fall and they nailed it.
After the discussion about PEX earlier, I forgot to mention that I used PEX A for the airline that I ran on Monday.

Not 100% sure about today’s plan, but would like to get to HF to get some hose hangers and Lowes for some PEX. HD is generally my go to home center, but they don’t carry PEX A.

My mechanical contractor buddy bought a used Woodmizer LT40 sawmill, I am going with him to pick it up, but not sure which day, so that could be an option for today as well.

Good Morning!!!! 73F @ 5:00AM. Plenty of sunshine. High 101F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

That MegaMillion's winner would keep "only" $606,454,068.00 of their winnings, the rest going to pay federal income tax and Medicare tax. Probably have to shell out for state income tax, too. That's still an unimaginable amount of money, Drew.

I filled up the tractor with about 15 gallons of #2 Diesel yesterday, Don. With the new tax kicker that started this month, I figure that's about a hundred dollar fill up.

With better light yesterday, I was able to find the backup pair of earplugs, right where I thought they should be. Dark gray pouch in a black tank bag interior made for excellent camouflage.

I also managed to get the Starlink trench graded and mostly covered with decomposed granite. The morning was cloudy so it wasn't so uncomfortable working outside. Still need to seed the area with Preen pre-emergent, so I'll make time to do that today.

I also got a start on the water system repairs by replacing the main 25 micron filter. I used a rubber strap wrench to get to the cartridge, which came out totally black. No wonder water wasn't flowing so well. And now I wonder just what the black stuff is. Probably mud from the new lines up to the big water tank.

After lunch the sun was out in full force, so I got a start inside trying to fix the problems with the Unifi Dream Machine Pro network router. Tried lots of things, but nothing worked. The Unifi tech support person I "chatted" with seemed to think I needed to send it back to them, but it's out of warranty and repair services don't seem to be available. To get by, I moved most of the network clients over to the Starlink router, and tried to set up a Unifi controller on a spare laptop. Couldn't get past the password challenge, so I gave up for the day. Modern problems don't always have the most straight forward answers.

Sheesh, Hump Day already...

Morning all, going up to 88 today and still no rain.
First time I have watered the lawn since I moved here 6 years ago. I don't think I ever needed to water the lawns at my other 2 houses.

Still on top of the Eiger Mountains. If you zoom in you can see the people walking the glacier.
Can hike, ski, zip line etc. up here.

How do you move large loads of construction materials on a high mountain:

Larger Gondolas on the way down. Much faster than train, and very high up at times.

78 outside this AM, heading to upper 80's.

Ahh, I know a lot of you are struggling with no water (rain), we are the exact opposite. My grass needs cutting again. On a purely non science POV, it should be going dormant by now and I should be adding water to the pool. It is almost August and well the yard work is non-stop.

I have been putzing around with the Milk House. Unfortunate the electrical boxes I bought are not deep enough to mount on the true 2X4's and fit through the wood and concrete walls to the inside rooms. I managed to cut four outlet holes in the wall and each hole takes about an hour with a supporting cast of various tools. Wood drills, concrete drills, angle grinders with concrete cutting wheels, wire and bolt cutters, a rail road spike and hammer. All for one outlet. LOL. That's of course after the outside siding is removed, revealing wasp, hornet, bird, squirrel and various other gross things in the wall. More LOL. Just plodding along, dodging the weather, both the heat, humidity and rains.

Hope all are hanging in there, getting well if you need to. Be safe.

Cool pics Ken.

PJ, that was some historic rain your way.

Enjoy the hump day. all.

Good luck on your new tractor job.

The train has a vegetarian option...not to your standards. (You have to pick from a drop down menu when purchasing tickets).
