marvelous critter pic Thomas, like the lighting

during the summer I'd like a 153 electric bill...normally around 90 and hops up to 135 in summer. More for one month.
Tiny house, new hvac but poorly insulated. My living room is at least five degrees hotter than bedroom, gets all of afternoon sun on windows despite
thermal drapes drawn. The electric bill on my NC home with three hvacs was huge, sometimes four times now. Pretty non ecological actually, just one person in a big
fully airconditioned house.

looking out window seeing squash plants growing out of raised gardens and heading out on the lawn. Nope. Big haircut coming. I've learned, once they escape outside, difficult to get them
back inside without damaging plant. So I just let them go for about a foot out of the garden. That's all you get of freedom buddy.
picked my first onion yesterday, small one.

2022-07-16,

61° right now...very pleasant. High in the mid-80's, if it makes it that far

Been up a few hours...had breakfast (toast) and fed Margeaux. She's on the deck enjoying the beautiful morning.
Not sure what I'll get into today. Not enough stuff to justify a dump run. I have some branches to chip, but again, not enough to bother with at this time. There are more branches I need to collect or cut down...a few saplings too, thinking about it.
But, what I'll probably do is grab a beer (in a couple hours), set on the deck with Margeaux, and enjoy the day!!
Now...that's a good plan!!!

good morning all
that's really quite a set up David. Neat as a pin too.

have to attend a memorial service today, mid day, and then home.
Need to load mower on trailer later today, hope to make a trip to Popgadget's tomorrow for a list of repairs.

have been off arthritis meds for two days, starting to feel like a truck ran over me, can't take celebrex one week prior to epidural.
So I've been taking some tramadol I have left over, more powerful but doesn't work as well. Different receptors I think, a Cox inhibitor or something like that.
pain doc said I really needed to go back to a full dose of celebrex, and he wrote a scrip for it, and then promptly told me not to use any of it for a week. Sigh.

well sometimes it's good to just stop taking certain pain meds so your body can reset.

Ted, we all wish you better luck with your knee. You've really been through the ringer with that.

now to run some wash and clean kitchen floors. Boring but necessary. Hug your wives and tell them how much
you appreciate them doing all this stuff
It's a ***** getting old, ain't it?

Morning all, going up to 86 and cloudy.
Got more of the deck powerwashing done, should finish today and maybe get the dead dogwood in the front are cut up.

Got drink and snacks with the wife at a local taco place last night, they have good guac and salsa's and all without any dairy so I can have them.

BEF - at least son is going the route of checking his hearing. Many in my family didn't until too late. Hope they can correct it without too much fuss. Ouch on the grapple- hammer it back ?

Sodamo - usually I just water the garden to make it rain :) hasn't worked lately though.

Wagtail - commune with the horse-hope she likes the smell?

Off to get pool supplies.

Ferry from Positano to Capri. Da Paulino (lemon tree) restaurant and the blue grotto.
You get in the little boat, duck down low and the boat guy squirts you through the entrance.
was closed the first day due to waves and high water, so luckily we were able to see it on the second day.

Rain shower just hit unexpectedly, so cooled off a bit...but should climb back up...to 87.

Thanks for concerns and prayers for my wife...she is doing much better.

Son and DIL came in last night and brought pizza so we wouldn't have to cook. We stayed up talking until after 1am, which is really late for me, since I still wake up and get up early to feed the birds and chipmunks.

I went grocery shopping yesterday and my wife calls and says the drainpipe under the kitchen sink had slipped apart, and water everywhere. So worked on that when I got home...temp repair until I buy some new plastic pipe...while under the sink, noticed a tiny drip from the hot water feed (copper)...so I'll have to take a closer look once our guests leave tomorrow, then make a run to the hardware store.

Also need to roast coffee for my son and DIL to take home...my roasting plan was interrupted when I had to take my wife to the clinic Friday.

BEF, is that an EA grapple? Sorry it got damaged.

Thomas, sorry your Florida friend passed.

Good morning to all! Low of 62°, but that was very early this morning. It was still 75° at 20:00 last night. We usually turn off the A/C when we go to bed. Almost left it on last night.....
Today's high is supposed to hit 93°. Slight chance of a storm..... The weather guessers keep promising 'very good possibilities of rain', but just keep moving it on down the line....

Ken, beautiful pics from your trip. Thanks for posting.

Don, those bills aren't too bad.... our water bill is around $135, for 15K gal, of that $38 is taxes and fees. Much higher this time of year due to the drip irrigation. January was only $85.
The electric last month was $158, of which $33 was taxes and fees. January's bill was $98.
Considering these prices are for around 900 sq. ft, relatively high cost.

Roy, sounds like a VERY good plan in place for the day! Enjoy

Wng, Oh No! Plumbing leak! Hope you can get it all fixed without too much trouble. I hate plumbing and water leaks.....

Drew, gotta keep those rebellious squash in check! It is amazing how fast they grow.

Not sure what today's agenda will bring... lots of small tinkering projects to do, still have yet to try the power washer, so might try that when it gets hot out, the tractor still needs a bath. Need to finish up running a few zones of drip irrigation.

Everyone have a great day!
