Good Morning!!!! 71 @ 5:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 98F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Got an early start yesterday and enjoyed some nice 80F temps. Ran 40' of PVC conduit, and had just enough glue to hold it all together. I wish the stuff would last more than a few months in the can. Seems like I end up buying a new can for every project, then having lots left over that I think will be OK and it's not.
Got everything wired and this time watched as the Starlink dish did its dance on top of the pole. Took maybe ten minutes all together, rotating, tipping, then resting for a few minutes before moving around again, ending up pointing north. This morning there are no obstructions showing, and only three short "no signal" errors, probably due to gaps in the satellite coverage. By the time I got everything connected and the wires tucked in out of harm's way, it was too hot to be outside. Got some paperwork taken care of, got a nap, enjoyed a nice piece of salmon on the BBQ.
Almost forgot to mention I heard back from the FAA yesterday about the drone complaint. The agent told me they didn't get any response from the phone messages they left, and couldn't prove who owned the drone. So they sent the neighbors a letter that cited the regulations on drones. I asked about shooting one down, and the FAA treats drones as manned aircraft, and the penalties for doing so are steep. He also said it's legal to fly over private property without permission, but you can't use video or photos publicly without permission. That's pretty much what I expected, but now there's a complaint on file that may help to establish behavior for further action in the future. Still no word back from the sheriff, but I'm guessing they got the same non-response and don't have the time to follow up further.
Gonna get some seat time filling the trench this morning, then pack for this weekend's trip.
Happy Hump Day, folks!
