Better check on golf cart. One campground we go to won’t allow golf carts. Stupid as can be. They don’t rent carts and it’s got some hills.
My son’s roommate almost got a ticket for jogging on a trail in TN. Walking only.

Filled generator and got it running again. Love how quiet it is, I can’t hear it, but hear the neighbors across the road. But the semi trucks that go by all day and night are so loud they drown out everything.

Ken, welcome home.
I've done very little international travel, wish I had done more while I still got on airplanes.
takes a couple days just to decompress and shift gears when you get home.
hope your week is going well.

After being away for a while, wonder if any more of your dead ash trees came down.

stop up for Golden Egg squash. I'm now giving it away to any neighbor I can find.
I think I'm going to put a little plastic table up on the driveway/lane next to my house which leads to five homes, all in a line.
They all have to drive past me to get out. Thinking of putting veggies on table and say Free For Neighbors
Anything that says Free is like magic. Free is powerful. Free means take me home.
They all live in deep dark woods. I live in the sun and have a nice garden. Almost all of them have mentioned to me walking by
they wished they had more sun. So pretty sure none of them can have a garden.

buckeye, I'm kinda hoping something does happen. We're a bunch of old farts out for a lark together, looking for adventure in slow motion.
That's our new byword, looking for adventure. Where will it take us? If I get close to anyone on that path I'll fully stop and let them by.
Otherwise I'd have them dialing 911 and diming me out. Best to smile and say hello. We are anything but dangerous looking....
I know, I'll take a dozen Entemann's donuts with us and use them to bribe the officer. That should go over well.

68 outside this AM. Heading to upper 80s. Lots of storms late yesterday. Managed to cover the Milk House wall and do some weed whacking before calling it a day.
Just chilling today.

Above is the storm coming in on us.

And last night's sunset.

Hope all are healing. Be safe and have a great day.

I gotta think about electric wiring.
Quick solution:
I have 2 former AC disconnects outside already wired back to panel. ( from condenser units before geothermal). But they are 3/c 12ga. Small generator only rated for 13A 120v. But right now it’s feeding fridge, freezer, internet and a led lamp to know it’s on. Could use one disconnect to feed standalone generator outlet in basement for freezer, so I don’t have to drag out extension cord thru garage window, & doors and down basement steps. Really would like to feed a small transfer panel, that would have fridge, freezer and pellet stove circuits.
More costly solution is 240v generator circuit and larger transfer switch capable of running well pump. I have a larger 6kw generator in the barn, but it’s super loud.
Or go whole house. But we have few outages like this. If there weren’t so many outages, we would have been fixed already.

Morning all, started raining last night, and stopped just as quick.
So dry that the ground is cracking open in places.

I was in a VW Touran Mostly when the rock fall hit us.

Good luck on getting the power back BEF - running wires everywhere does get old quick.

Rome: always good to see how well they preserve their history.

Good morning! 76˚F heading to the 100s+. Yesterday was 106˚, got the state inspection and oil change done on the Ranger. Austin news reports 109˚ for the last two days and this is the hottest summer on record, many 100 degree days still in the forecast.

Heading to Costco tomorrow to get new hearing aids, and get to figure out all the new technological advances made in the last 7 years. My current hearing aids keep talking and interrupting when I'm trying to listen. Now I know how mental people feel when they hear voices.

Our first neighborhood WFPB potluck ever and since covid will be held outside in the neighborhood pavilion next week and 101˚ is predicted. The organizer got bit by the alligator last week and is feeling poorly and now thinks it's too hot, we will see.

Kenmbz, are the yellow caps the people in a tour? That is a good way to keep track of the people in the group.

Good morning! 72 now, high of 83 or so today.

Didn’t get as warm here as it did at @rswyan place, high was 86. Still was warm working outside.

Yesterday was busy. Went to Menards for some lumber and other odds and ends for the trailer project. Tried to do that Monday at Lowes, but I asked an employee for assistance and he walked away from me with out even acknowledging my existence. Looks like I will do most of my business at Menards going forward….

Went to HF for one small thing, came out with 2 things. The close out shelf is dangerous. :D

Took the wife to the feed mill for bird food. We are gonna have to get the birds a job at the current prices of food!

Got 2 windows installed in the trailer. Progress!

Got contacted this morning by a company I worked with who made companion products for the steel industry. They are seeing if I would be interested in doing some consulting work for them.

Not sure what I will get into. There will be something!

Everyone stay safe out there!

Good Morning!!!! 71 @ 5:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High 98F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Got an early start yesterday and enjoyed some nice 80F temps. Ran 40' of PVC conduit, and had just enough glue to hold it all together. I wish the stuff would last more than a few months in the can. Seems like I end up buying a new can for every project, then having lots left over that I think will be OK and it's not.

Got everything wired and this time watched as the Starlink dish did its dance on top of the pole. Took maybe ten minutes all together, rotating, tipping, then resting for a few minutes before moving around again, ending up pointing north. This morning there are no obstructions showing, and only three short "no signal" errors, probably due to gaps in the satellite coverage. By the time I got everything connected and the wires tucked in out of harm's way, it was too hot to be outside. Got some paperwork taken care of, got a nap, enjoyed a nice piece of salmon on the BBQ.

Almost forgot to mention I heard back from the FAA yesterday about the drone complaint. The agent told me they didn't get any response from the phone messages they left, and couldn't prove who owned the drone. So they sent the neighbors a letter that cited the regulations on drones. I asked about shooting one down, and the FAA treats drones as manned aircraft, and the penalties for doing so are steep. He also said it's legal to fly over private property without permission, but you can't use video or photos publicly without permission. That's pretty much what I expected, but now there's a complaint on file that may help to establish behavior for further action in the future. Still no word back from the sheriff, but I'm guessing they got the same non-response and don't have the time to follow up further.

Gonna get some seat time filling the trench this morning, then pack for this weekend's trip.

Happy Hump Day, folks!
