Dang....you sure have some talent.85F and partly cloudy @ 13:15, HI 87F. Headed up to around 89F for today's high.
Looking forward to cooler temps tomorrow.
Moved eggplant, pepper, and tomato plants out of garage and water first thing yesterday. They all fit on the sideboard of the Weber Grill now, so they did not get put back inside last night.
The "King Kong" strawberries also got set out but on the ground.
Woman reports that it doesn't look like any of them were disturbed.
Got one suet feeder refilled.
Moved pallet and scrap wood from in back to up in front. Also picked up another pallet off the lawn and put it on the stack of pallets.
Went up with the Cub and dump cart and got a full load of screened compost before it was too warm. Really glad I decided to make that pile where I did (in the morning shade):
Refilled tote for potting soil after second screening. Should have enough to repot banana tree, so that may be on agenda today.
Got 3 sides of shelf for aquarium stand planter stained, will do the remaining 3 today, assuming the first 3 are dry.
Made the rounds out front with the Water Buffalo, watered both peach trees, gingko, and new plants up in front of shop, also large rhododendron in northeast planting bed that looks like it's under stress.
Cleaned up some on the patio around back and arranged plants, moved 55 gallon aquarium out of the way and closer to the basement door, made room for additional plants.
Cultivated summer squash bed at back of frog pond and added screened compost. Not quite done, but significant progress made.
MiracleGro mixed up and two tubs of winter squash and pumpkin plants fertilized and watered, also some loose pots. Will do the 3rd one sometime later today.
More spraying done on expanded garden area. Can see areas that were previously sprayed starting to turn yellow:
Mostly done at this point, just need to take some measurements with my 35' Fat Max tape (that I located yesterday) and set some stakes and run a string line then clean up the edges.
Remainder of screened compost in dump cart placed at the spots the last three summer squash will be planted.
Agenda for today:
Head up to shop first thing and turn on AC for working on Kubota later.
Move sun-loving plants in garage around back to patio area.
Refill Water Buffalo.
Refill hopper feeder.
Finish staining shelf.
Repot banana tree.
Pot the rest of the bare root strawberry plants.
Finish up mowing northeast corner of lawn down here at the house.
Take up recyclables and garbage to the cans at the road and set those out.
Plus whatever else comes up.
Hope everyone has a great Monday ! ...![]()
DangMorning all, back from Europe.
I now know what happens to a car when rocks fall down a mountain in Switzerland.
Still waiting on the bill from the rental car company.
Big rock hits in front of us and explodes. then lots of rocks hit us.
i hit the gas and looked in the rear view mirror.
Person behind us stopped, rocks hit their car, bolder knocked off his roof rack, car sat their smoking.
Road closed and people behind him to help.
We could not get past the rocks behind us, so kept going, hoping we would not get hit more.
Windshield broken, large dents in the hood and scratches everywhere. Still had some rock bits attached to the car afterwards.
We are all ok and the rest of our trip was great.
