Thanks for the nice comments about Sharon’s 4Runner, guys! I forwarded them to her and she will be tickled pink! (We had 2003 4Runner Limited back in 2003, and several other vehicles since, including 2 Pilots that we loved. But I knew that she still longed for another 4Runner, so in a moment of weakness I finally got her a 2021 4Runner in December of 2020, and sold our 8-seater 2010 Pilot - to a family with 6 kids! Felt pretty good about that.

67°F and .41 inches rain

2nd attempt at mowing yesterday only lasted about 10 minutes before the sky opened up again. Today looking better.

After giving up decided to meet some visiting friends for early dinner. Took advantage to make a quick stop at HD.

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Yes, he is quite skilled.
It would be a heck of a project to create something similar and likely expensive,
but a nice trailer mover.

85F and partly cloudy @ 13:15, HI 87F. Headed up to around 89F for today's high.

Looking forward to cooler temps tomorrow.

Moved eggplant, pepper, and tomato plants out of garage and water first thing yesterday. They all fit on the sideboard of the Weber Grill now, so they did not get put back inside last night.

The "King Kong" strawberries also got set out but on the ground.

Woman reports that it doesn't look like any of them were disturbed.

Got one suet feeder refilled.

Moved pallet and scrap wood from in back to up in front. Also picked up another pallet off the lawn and put it on the stack of pallets.

Went up with the Cub and dump cart and got a full load of screened compost before it was too warm. Really glad I decided to make that pile where I did (in the morning shade):

IMG_1847 copy.jpg

Refilled tote for potting soil after second screening. Should have enough to repot banana tree, so that may be on agenda today.

Got 3 sides of shelf for aquarium stand planter stained, will do the remaining 3 today, assuming the first 3 are dry.

Made the rounds out front with the Water Buffalo, watered both peach trees, gingko, and new plants up in front of shop, also large rhododendron in northeast planting bed that looks like it's under stress.

Cleaned up some on the patio around back and arranged plants, moved 55 gallon aquarium out of the way and closer to the basement door, made room for additional plants.

Cultivated summer squash bed at back of frog pond and added screened compost. Not quite done, but significant progress made.

MiracleGro mixed up and two tubs of winter squash and pumpkin plants fertilized and watered, also some loose pots. Will do the 3rd one sometime later today.

More spraying done on expanded garden area. Can see areas that were previously sprayed starting to turn yellow:

IMG_1848 copy.jpg

Mostly done at this point, just need to take some measurements with my 35' Fat Max tape (that I located yesterday) and set some stakes and run a string line then clean up the edges.

Remainder of screened compost in dump cart placed at the spots the last three summer squash will be planted.

Agenda for today:

Head up to shop first thing and turn on AC for working on Kubota later.

Move sun-loving plants in garage around back to patio area.

Refill Water Buffalo.

Refill hopper feeder.

Finish staining shelf.

Repot banana tree.

Pot the rest of the bare root strawberry plants.

Finish up mowing northeast corner of lawn down here at the house.

Take up recyclables and garbage to the cans at the road and set those out.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone has a great Monday ! ... (y)

Morning all, back from Europe.

I now know what happens to a car when rocks fall down a mountain in Switzerland.
Still waiting on the bill from the rental car company.

Big rock hits in front of us and explodes. then lots of rocks hit us.

i hit the gas and looked in the rear view mirror.

Person behind us stopped, rocks hit their car, bolder knocked off his roof rack, car sat their smoking.

Road closed and people behind him to help.

We could not get past the rocks behind us, so kept going, hoping we would not get hit more.
Windshield broken, large dents in the hood and scratches everywhere. Still had some rock bits attached to the car afterwards.

We are all ok and the rest of our trip was great.
Dang  glad you both safe and home.

Good (Tuesday) morning. Overnight Low of 5.6C with a wee bit of early morning rain = 0.5mm in the gauge. The predicted rain for today has changed to a slight chance. 😄 (I swear that I should've been a Met rating in the Navy, 20% accuracy would've meant I was doing an excellent job on my annual assessment). It's a steady 11C outside, overcast and calm.

That's about it; take care all.

nice dinner at new upscale Korean restaurant in Doylestown. Everything I had was good, not too salty, called a Bento Box, and it was quiet enough in there only at the very end
did my ears bother me. Big restaurant, very professional, not one Korean in sight... No Kimche for me.

Before that watched the British movie Phantom of the Open at the totally renovated County Theatre in Doylestown.
Slightly weird, not very funny though billed as a comedy, dry, oh so dry...,and touching actually of a true story
of a guy who entered the British Open and had never played golf before. He was loved as the world's worst golfer, shooting a 135 or something terrible.
Just an average guy, a crane operator, told by his wife to pursue his dreams, and she supported him all the way. Nice movie.

now to polish off a few more chapters in the Kindle before tomorrow morning arrives.

Good evening.... FINALLY got all the weed wacking done! Now I just have to stay on top of it. So much easier when the weeds are small. Some of the ones I was attacking had 1/2- 3/4" stalks. Tough SOB's.
I was procrastinating doing it, knowing the knee would be seriously complaining, which it is.

Thursday is the day...appt at the neurologist . I'm going to take Thomas' approach.... tell the Doc that I want answers to why the knee is still giving me trouble.

Good chances of rain tonight and tomorrow..... hopefully some will find its way here.
