Been laid up for 3 days now. Did something to my back/hip. Looks like at least another day or two the way it is going. On the bright side, one of my neighbours came to visit me when I was in my mancave. We had a bourbon and he reckoned I could use a couple of recliners there. I said, "sure could". He said that he had a couple I could have that were in his shed. He brought them up and they were really nice dark green leather in very good condition. They had bought new ones for the new decor. Just what I needed especially at the moment. Watching TV is great now.

40 going up to 51 today in sun and clouds.
Busy day, planting pachysandra after church so probably won't get home til later.
Have at least one helper; my back is good for two hours and that will be it. Will finish later this week.

I did the first mow here at the house. I popped for a new EGO mower. Pretty slick. Came with 3 different blades, a bagger and a couple of different shoot attachments and of course the battery and charger. . I was bagging to get up the winter litter. I had to change out the mulcher blade that looks like a gator blade for the high lift blade for bagging. The other blade is for max run time. It will do a little more than half the yard before it needs to be charged. Charges really fast. It has a really nice folding handle. I think I could fold it up and but it in the trunk of the Camry. It does feel kind of plasticy. It is not silent but it is quieter than the gas mower. Kind of interesting that it was made in May of 2021. I got it at a ACE hardware but Lowes has it on sale too. We will see how it lasts.

32 and ice in the birdbaths. Fun to watch them peck through the skim ice to get water. Looking for a sunny 61 Sunday.

Glad the operations went well and healing is underway, Top and Sodamo. I seem to be hearing of many cataract surgeries right now...DIL's mom had one last week, and MIL is scheduled later this month.

BEF, sorry the land in Rockbridge didn't work out. Sure is pretty there. Best wishes for a successful search.

Hope you're doing better, Alien, feet up in that new warm cozy recliner, priced right, too.

Had a fun turkey hunt in southern Virginia yesterday for opening day, with son and nephew...2 nice gobblers...first one for my nephew. My son then drove to NC, taking BIL on a hunt this morning, to hopefully get his first. Heard a nice gobbler outside while feeding the birds this morning. Love is in the air.

Our hummingbird arrival is now "officially" 4 days late...must be too nice for them to leave the deep south. The phobe laid one an egg a day in the nest under the shelter...now sitting on 5 of them.

38° right now...high in the low 40's with rain/snow showers

Not much planned...laundry, little carpet cleaning...mostly spot cleaning. Too wet for outdoors work...

Watched a couple old movies last night.... "Doctor X" (1932) and "Mystery of the Wax Museum" (1933) in very early Technicolor.

Good Morning.
It’s 39 and going to the middle 40’s with a decent breeze all day. Might dry up a little bit, but it needs to warm up to firm up the spongy ground.

Yesterday was according to plan. I got the crossovers all built,

Did some finish sanding, and helped son and daughter with their projects.

Today, after going out to breakfast with my wife, I plan to punch out the input plates, and assemble them. Also going to the restaurant to install new JBL 70v speakers for background music in drop ceiling tiles. After that, daughter is bringing the kitchen aid mixer that she inherited from her grandmother to be disassembled and greased. She will do the work using my tools and perhaps some guidance.
Last on the agenda is to meet the mechanic coming in from the other end of the state to take the failed engine off the airplane. He will work with the local shop, but he has the specific tools and knowledge to get it done. I’ve known him a long time, he has several Gravely tractors that he has restored, I’ve given him a few attachments over the years, as I had several duplicates.
I’m looking forward to a nice dinner with him.

Those some big caps. Do you wind the inductors?

Good morning, low temp 26 and going to a high of 41°F. Wind NNW 9 mph. Cloudy. We got about 1/2" of snow overnight. I'm not doing anything with it.

Not much on the books for today, so I will conserve energy.

Have a safe day all

Morning all, 40's going up to 50
Off to the stores and garden center with the wife and then take a few hours to work at cleaning out area for planting. Some of the plants just shipped so inside start, calling for a freeze tonight.

Alien - feel better - seems to be a weekly thing so we will need to chip in and get you bubble wrapped!

Mostly - hope the ride was great fun

PopG - one early job I had we used to wind our own inducters for switches that went in planes. To very tight specs. Still don't think they looked as good as the ones on that board. Really like the layout and the notch for the cored inductor.
How long before they figure out why your oil tank tried to become a soft pillow?

Stay safe and be well,

Saw an RV like that on the road today, told my wife we should get one like that.
I always thought that a class C would be nice to have..... until I saw the cost these days.... That and the added maintenance, decided that a nicely done upgraded trailer would sufice.

Last night we put an offer in on 15 acres of land in Rockbridge county va. Today we looked at the land, then withdrew the offer. Was surprised we had great cell coverage there, I was expecting no coverage.
The land was steeper than the pictures looked. The knoll we wanted to build on just didn’t have enough area on top. Garden area would have to be down along driveway.
Knoll is trees at top of hill.

View from left side of the knoll. Best view for house is here, but close to the line.

Still pretty steep here. Best building site is down in the open field, but no view from there.

Then driving back we drove by a lot in south PA above Hagerstown md. No signs on lots, so not sure they were still available.
Long day.
I am curious.... what was the cost on the lot that you decided against?

66°F and .27 inches rain.

Anticipating a full day with TurboTax today broken up by frequent encounters with spreadsheets. An energy conservation day physically, but not mentally.

Pics posted sure show a variety of skills among the likes of many members here, cabinetry, landscaping, fencing, etc. A widely talented bunch 🤙

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
