Good morning!!!!

Boy, I'm really falling apart...UTI (seems under control) and occasional angina... The angina is worse when I'm lying down...bad enough that I finally took a nitroglycerine pill...abates after a bit, with or without the pill, but very uncomfortable. I can't recall getting any of these attacks when up for the day...strictly a nocturnal event...which is strange
I have an appointment with a cardiologist on the 12th.
Way too wet for any outdoors activities today
Roy, I vote for you to get to the clinic or tell your Dr's nurse your symptoms for hopefully sooner appointment.

Alien, hope they get your wife's heart sorted out. My mom has a pacemaker, it has helped her out.

You too LS!

Bupps and Topps, I pray you all get your situations healed.

I'm far behind on reading.

Lou, with all the birch plywood flying around this thread, maybe y'all should go in for a container load from Helogabals and build your cabinets.

I'm contemplating going to the Texas A&M football spring practice game tomorrow. It is my kind of price (free). They are playing a different game than a standard scrimmage. They'll let the team captains take turns picking teams, just like out on the old sand lot, then they'll line up against each other like a real game. With the Over the Top recruiting year they've had, I'd like to see a lot of the freshmen get their first sensation of being in the middle of a huge screaming fan crowd.

I was wanting to take my daughter to see the A&M gal's tennis team play, but the rest of the season's SEC games are all out of town. My wife says she's concerned that her watching the girls at that high a level, could possibly demoralize her. If they play NCAA playoffs at home, I'll ask her if she wants to go.

We could sure use some of the rain some of you are getting....but not the freeze. The garden is looking pretty good. 'maters are already about 6"-8" tall, with plenty of nice green leaves.

Tesla moving HQ to Texas. Also, I believe Musk has some kind of tunnel boring machine company working on such, in nearby Bastrop Texas area.

It's the weekend!

TIN ROOF.....Rusted!!!

68°F and .48 inches rain and it’s almost 1pm.
Yesterday went well, but I was pretty useless after. Couldn’t use my existing glasses over the eye patch so distant things pretty much out of focus and reading/typing a non starter. A bit envious that Randy was able to enjoy vision a clear protector.

Good report at 1st followup today. Combined distant vision actually better without glasses and doing quite well with old pair of readers for close. Next followup next Fri and left eye scheduled for 5/10. Light duty for next week and I wont push.

Hope Randy and all others doing well.

I just had my left one done, but what you describe is very similar to my experience. My distance vision is tit for tat, but slightly better without glasses and my bifocals work ok for reading. Once the other eye is done I will replace my glasses.

Good morning/afternoon all. A mild night, low of 11C and presently 19C with a slight breeze and sporadic drizzle.

Just doing laundry and 'resting up' for what could be a busy week ahead as our Federal election could be called by the Prime Minister.

Take care all!

Looks like rain tonight, then a cool weekend, before a beautiful week next week.
My vision is greatly improved and I’m looking forward to getting the other eye done. Everything is so clear and colors are very sharp. I thought my socks had turned gray, but they are perfectly white. I do have the sand in the eye feeling which I understand to be normal. It seems better this afternoon. My current glasses will need replacement though.

Good for you, Randy
I discussed that scratchy feeling. dr said the procedure leave a slight ridge which should go away in a few days. I’m enjoying sitting here reading and typing on the iPad with these old readers while glancing over them to see the TV. Already a vast improvement over my regular bifocals.

Good morning, low temp 33 and a high of 41°F. Wind SSW 6 mph. 40% chance of snow or rain showers. Another inside day for me.

Energy conservation day for sure.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
chance of some showers this morning as last of system gets out of here. With four inches of rain, sure don't need any more.

Elderly neighbor who just had a new hip put in just emailed me and asked me if I would go get her a lasagna from Giant. Yesterday I got the weekly paper for her and
I'm sure she saw a coupon. I admit I don't do coupons. They always seem to be expired when I use them. Other local store has a simple 5 bucks off over 50 coupon and
despite what it is printed, cashiers say they don't expire. Plus she told me to come in on Tuesdays and seniors saved another 5 percent. This is the more expensive place, by a bunch.
So the ability to make some of the extra cost disappear seems like smart marketing. And they always have lots of cashiers and short lines. And a deluxe coffee bar with chit chat tables for the locals.

I'm usually trying to avoid any groups of folks as alligators like close contact. And after having four of my close family get sick in last month, I'm still being careful. So far so good.
But the requested lasagna comes from the other store where I normally shop, so I'll go early. My neighbor's significant other is a local police officer crippled from a motorcycle accident when he hit a deer head on. Hobbles around and can't get a driver's license. She's the driver and can't for six weeks. So I'm happy to help nice people who I know are appreciative.

grumbly stomach calling me to kitchen for breakfast.
hope you all have a nice Saturday.

NWS says it's a calm 36° this morning, going for a high of a sunny 86°. Hard to believe that kind of a spread.

I hate to admit that old age and Alzheimer's is getting me, but I guess it's inevitable. I'm having more aches and pains all the time, and I've come very close to bad falls a couple of times recently. Two days ago, I mowed the yard, easiest mowing ever, dry, did not use the bagger, cool weather, and I just wore shorts and a t-shirt, but I was worn out and sweating profusely before I finished.

About 5 years ago, when I had a shoulder replaced and the doctor told me definitely to do no mowing, I temporarily used a lawn service, and they did a good job, so yesterday I looked them up and found they've merged with a bigger company, but still in business, and after contacting many others and getting prices, I found they were the best price. SO . . . I've arranged to have them mow my yard weekly this year. My wife has been trying to get me to do that for a long time.

I guess I've always had a hard time admitting that there's anything I can't do.

35° right now...high in the upper 40's and more rain.

I'd skipped the dump run Thursday because it was raining...don't think I'll be able to use that excuse again. Stepdaughter said she'd help...

2 angina attacks last night...one bad, the other mild. Nitroglycerin handled both.

Like Bird, I'm really learning my body can't do what it used to do, and that sucks. Mind is sharp, but the flesh is weak.

After the dump run, just a kick back day...

Good Morning
It’s 43 and raining again. 3-3/4” over the last few days. Yesterday was a gorgeous day with azure skies and spring like temps.

I think that I’m finally caught up paperwork and aviation stuff, it was a welcome break to go look at Drew’s generator yesterday. I grilled some steaks for lunch yesterday, we ate out on the patio and enjoyed the sunshine.
Other than finish sanding, the wood work is complete on the speakers. I started building the crossovers, component shortages forced a redesign of the board. I was able to get the values that I needed, but the form factor on some of the inductors was different.

Today will continue the progress on the crossovers, and I’ll punch out the plate with the input jacks and controls as well as starting the finish sanding.
Maybe even catch up on YouTube videos that I haven’t had time for. It’s funny how YouTube has become like the “soaps” of prior generations as far as following them and keeping up with the story line.

38F, cloudy with some snow or frozen rain @ 09:30, headed up to a high of only 41F. Sure looking forward to the warm up that's coming this next week. But not the rain that will come with it.

The scales at the metals recycler were being worked on yesterday so they were out of commission. I ended up putting the entire trip off since all the planned stops were all down that way. They should be back up and running by Monday.

Ended up working out ok, got some research done on the rest of the items needed from Tractor Supply for the electric fence, sprayer restoration, and soil screen rebuild.

Also got the last Elephant Ear bulb planted, some kitchen clean up done, along with a few other things.

Plus a nap ... ;)

Managed to get another plant order placed last night - 60 strawberry plants: 30 early and 30 ever-bearing. Went ahead threw another 6 asparagus plants on the order too, for a total of 18.

Once upon a time we had over 200 strawberry plants here ... :)

Working on a seed order now: beans, squash, and pumpkins at this point mostly, may add some others. Will skip planting any corn though, due to the space and the likelihood that the 'coons would just eat it all.

Vet called with the results from The Big Orange Cat's blood work: said everything looked pretty good, no indication of diabetes or thyroid issues. She suspects he may possibly have a UTI or kidney issues ... so he'll go back in Monday morning and be dropped off so they can get a urine sample and then we'll pick up in the afternoon when we take Squeak and Missy in for their checkups and shots.

Today a quick run down to Ace Hardware for that short section of stovepipe, then slide by Harbor Freight for a punch set. Then back to the house as a couple of Amazon orders are due in today.

Looks like the hopper feeder is out so refill that when I get back.

Hope everyone has a decent rest of their weekend ... (y)

My bifocals are ok for reading, slightly better than no glasses, but my distance vision is vastly improved and better with no glasses. Colors are so sharp and bright, I’d forgotten what the world looks like. Now when I see a cat from 300’ I can tell he has legs and not just form moving across the ground.

Sun and clouds mixed with a shower here and there, high 59, even cooler tomorrow before a nice warming next week.
No projects for a few more days that require bending over or lifting more than ten pounds. I did mix up some glyphosate yesterday and sprayed weeds, did the driveway and around all the stone gardens. Also tweaked the apple tree that we straightened up a couple weeks ago.
Fast healing for Randy (Buppies), Sadamo, Roy and the rest of the infirmed.
