39° right now...high in the low 50's and rain...feels chillier due to the dampness.
Been rainy April so far...as the saying goes "April showers bring May flowers". In my case, it's weeds
I really want to drop the blade and snowblower off the tractor...been so wet, running across the lawn would probably leave impressions. Well, no need to mow yet...

Boy, I'm really falling apart...UTI (seems under control) and occasional angina... The angina is worse when I'm lying down...bad enough that I finally took a nitroglycerine pill...abates after a bit, with or without the pill, but very uncomfortable. I can't recall getting any of these attacks when up for the day...strictly a nocturnal event...which is strange
I have an appointment with a cardiologist on the 12th.
Way too wet for any outdoors activities today

Morning all;
40F and raining still, rain most of the night and yesterday.
Coal fire in the insert feels good, looking at the 10 day forecast I'll keep
that going till the evening of the 10th and then let it go out for the season.
Let the mini-splits handle the heat and cooling from then on till late fall.
Planning on an interesting and likely expensive little trip today,
going to a cabinet shop to look at new cabinets, first estimate $15,000.00.
Dang that is some expensive wood boxes, and doesn't even include installation.

43 and foggy but clearing up, going to 66.

Hope all with illness and surgeries are doing better. Sorry to hear of your new issue, Roy.

Roy, sounds like a recliner day for you and if you feel pains where you shouldn't, don't delay. Sorry for the worry it's giving you.
glad the UTI has improved. If your body is telling you it doesn't want to wait four days until your doc appt, listen to it. You've been through this before
and better smiling in telemetry if in doubt.

Sun is coming out and the sky is blue. The lawn is almost ready to be mowed assuming it wasn't the swamp it is now.
Need to check all my newly planted flower pots, four inches of rain may be overflowing the ones without a hole in the bottom. Which I probably should drill anyway.

Good morning.
It’s 45 and might make it to 60 under clear skies today.

We got 3.45 inches of rain according to the trusty Davis weather station. The Tempest says 1.8, and the old fashioned funnel gauge froze and cracked over the winter. But historically, the Davis has been the one to trust.

Yesterday, was still putting out fires from the failed engine and the havoc that it caused to the schedule. However I was fairly productive in the shop, all 4 speakers have all the internal parts in them and the holes for the handle and jackplate cut out and recessed.

Today will be finish sanding and filling.

It is so wet outside, I can’t imagine when I’ll be able get on the ground with a tractor. I can mow around the house with the Lazer, as that has a pretty light footprint, but can tear things up if you aren’t careful turning.

36F and partly cloudy @ 07:45, heading up to a high of 48F. Current soil temp is 39F, 24-hour average is 47.5F.

Just looked out the wind and one of the sunflower tube feeders is lying on the ground ... :(

I may have created a monster (or two): late last fall I moved the two tube feeders from where they were over to where they are currently ... but I didn't move the pole they were on, opting to use another pole which was considerably shorter. That brought the tubes down far enough that the deer could reach the bottom hole/feeding port with their tongues and pick out the seed. Wasn't too bad when I was using sunflower seeds in the shell ... they weren't quite as interested as they are now with the sunflower hearts. Seems like they can drain a tube almost overnight ... which is expensive.

So those won't be getting refilled until I put the other (taller) pole back up ... which should raise the feeders up a couple more feet.

Got a little more fish room work done last night after dinner.

Brought the two large planters in from outside and cleaned the dead plants out of them (with assistance from The Squeak) after dinner, then got two of the Elephant Ear bulbs planted. Also checked all the other plants and watered all of the them except for one of The Woman's hibiscus which was moist.

Her hibiscus are not doing real well at all ... besides needing repotted, they have some of kind of aphids (?) on them (tiny little white buggers) ... so I ordered some neem oil last night from Amazon (thx to Mr. Daugen) ... should be here tomorrow. Now I just need to locate the bottle of Castile Soap.

The Banana tree however is doing great. Keeping it well watered seems to be key.

Was considering the fencing for what will be the enlarged garden area and started pricing 6" x 10' PT fence posts. Then realized that some of the black locusts that I have down already might well work ... and if not, there's more out there that I can cut down. Not like it will kill them (if you cut down a black locust tree, the root system - which is interconnected with the surrounding black locust trees - will shoot up new trees :)) That should save around $125 or so.

I think I have most of the rest of the materials (high-tensile wire, tensioners, etc.) so whatever else is needed should be minimal.

Today's agenda will include bagging up and loading the aluminum cans in the van, and then running those down to the scrap metal recycler ... along with the scrap aluminum siding from the shed tear down last summer that's been sitting in the van forever.

After that I'll run by Tractor Supply and pick up some 1/2" EPDM hose so I can redo the boom for the sprayer and then probably swing by Menards and pick up a few items.

Once I get back home I might try and get those hibiscus repotted.

Hope everyone has a great TGIF !
