Good morning!!!!

Good evening. My birthday today, as well as my sister’s, who was born one year later than me. Had a nice chat with my siblings in front of the fire, and Wife made me a lovely shrimp and egg noodle meal for supper.

Did a lot of work with the renters of our rental cottage 500 yards down the road, as the final payments were due today. Lots of work cataloging them and what not, and some other stuff that I had to do today with my wife’s employer.

All in all, a good day, and I will sleep well tonight.

Have a lovely evening everyone!

Good Evening.
Today started about 5am headed to Florida. 125 kts on the nose, and a line of thunderstorms from the west coast to halfway to the Bahamas about half way down the state. Ended up stopping in NC for more fuel so we had lots of options. Ended up going out to sea and getting past the line by going east of the worst of it. Got to Stuart, refueled, and headed home, this time we picked our way through the line not very far off the coast around Vero Beach. And got cleared over the water to Wilmington,NC then on up to Philly. Almost a straight line. Nice smooth ride until about 10 miles from our destination, where a rain squall was passing through, bringing a 40kt wind with with it, that of course was not down the runway or steady.
But I did get home in time to get some chores and speaker work done before the boys showed up to play some music. Now it’s bed time for me, with no hard plan for tomorrow.

Friend is coming over this afternoon to help me with mower maintenance, primarily mower blades and greasing, plus taking off the power bagger.
going up to low 50's this afternoon, we both are waiting until it warms up a little.

more rain coming in later this weekend. Onion grass growing, some pretty little yellow flowers in front lawn.

working on tax returns, not rushing to send PA and Fed any more money...this year I owe a little, not much.

It has been a strange week. I am normally very laid back, yet my wife said I've been "like a cat on hot bricks" for a few days. Now my paws are at last cooling down, thanks to the eventual arrival this morning of a baby girl to expand our collection of grandkids.

Helogabals, there must be a reason why tires attract screws and new rubber makes the most powerful magnet. I couldn't tell you why though, I must have missed that physics lesson at school :giggle:
I'm sure we may have some members who are too young to understand that first paragraph, but I KNOW that many of us been there, done that, and understand.

As for your second paragraph, I too, have wondered about that ever since I was repairing tires in my Dad's service stations when I was 16 years old.

This morning we have a calm, wind free 54° going for a sunny 76° and the 50% chance of rain that was forecast for last night did give my gauge about .05" of rain right around midnight. Today is opening day for the weekly Farmers Market and Community Market in Denton, TX and the local newspaper says they expect more than 2,000 visitors today, so I know they love the weather forecast. Last year, they spaced venders farther apart and recommended masks because of the Covid-19 pandemic. But this year that's all been changed so they're supposed to have more vendors than ever since they can put then closer together, and no masks required.

29 and frosty, going to 61.

Check, Happy Birthday!

Thomas, you feel that earthquake, about 5 or 10 miles from you? Not a big one.

Eric, great news about your new granddaughter.

...and Kyle congrats on the new chicks. Not a bad deal trading for a Taco Bell meal... 😁

Don, I bet you had a big smile starting up that tractor, and engaging the FEL.

BEF..."I got me a Chrysler, it seats about 20, So hurry up and bring your jukebox money."

Put the carry all wood box back on the tractor, sharpened my chainsaw, and went after the final big limbs brought down by the January storm. These were not in the way, and easy to get to, but are big enough to need splitting...oak, cherry, and maple...but I'm sharing my shelter where the splitter lives with a nesting pair of eastern phoebes, so will have to choose my splitting time when she's not egg laying.

Talked to a friend on the phone from high school that I hadn't talked with for 30 years...funny how you just jump back into conversation like it was just the day before when you last talked...plus we each shared stories that the other had forgotten, so it's like having an extra hard drive of storage out there.

The space the size of a parking lot space with a table cost $45 so each space will be packed with hundreds of items the owner no longer needs. The event is organized by the charity group the Kiwanis.
