With my wifes help driving the Ranger we tried to pull my tractor out yesterday arvo. No luck. A neighbour walked in the gate and said he had noticed the tractor sitting down the paddock and offered to pull it out with his tractor on Sunday. Nice of him. However, I went and had a look late yesterday and the ground had dried out considerably so I gave it a go. Rocked it a bit to free the caked mud and managed to drive it forward out of the holes onto firm ground. I went and got the XUV and trailer and loaded it with rocks and sand and filled in the very deep holes the wheels had dug and then reversed out with no effort. Such a relief and now a big cleanup to do. Then I will return the chains I borrowed from my mate to pull it out. Must ring the neighbour and tell him I don't need him now.
It's dry enough now to tow away the fallen trees before it rains again. Then finish mowing.
Property is looking pretty good just now. I have a brother and his wife coming from New Zealand to stay for a day or two so want it to look good as they own a nursery and have people visiting their property daily. Our lawns and gardens have improved a lot since their last visit.
Club day today and also going to pick up my special pool cue from my daughter in readiness for the arrival of my new pool table.
