Good morning! 60˚F cloudy, South wind, heading to the 80s. Rain is not expected here till Wednesday morning. Bird my Scotts fertilizer has been out a week and still the grass is not green/growing, maybe the rumors of cold temps up North has lengthen the dormancy.

Might try to make an extra men's pilates class this morning - can always use the extra torture.
I spread the fertilizer Saturday and watered it in. Then yesterday morning, I spread some of that Scott's grass seed that may not survive hot weather, but I'm givin' it a chance because I'm too lazy to do anything else.:):) I'm hand watering it 4 or 5 times a day for the time being; hoping for a good rain tomorrow night.

And this morning, my wife mentioned that the grass is greening up just a bit in at least parts of the yard. I expect to be mowing next week.

Another negative alligator bite, so that’s good news.
Working from home. Solved one problem with a program.

Congrats on retirement Rich. Now you will be busier than ever.
Wife said she’d bring me some soup for lunch at 12:30. It’s 1:30 and she’s not back so doing peanut butter. I ate peanut butter sandwiches all thru the pandemic, pretty much every day.

Already mowed some, rest will need it soon. Forsythia sure are pretty.

Dads barn through the dirty front window. I cleaned the windows last spring, need it again.
Lots of boards falling off the barn. The old nails just rusted.

New camera working well there, except it points at the morning sun.

I saw these in a church in Leander and thought they might be the chairs you make.
I am not carpenter. I am supplying machines for furniture makers. Like CNC, automatic saws, painting robots etc ;)
Those chairs are similar, but I dont think they are made here. Wood looks little different.
But those are nice chairs and church looks superb (y)

I get me an eye appointment for 8 April. This is a good thing because I am going to do my medical on the 22nd, maybe with the new glasses.
The second cat gets castrated on the 4th May.
I've put in my order for a Country clipper Z-turn mower. I told the guy that if he couldn't get me the cheaper one (Avenue) that I would take the XLT. The difference in price is $3,000.oo. He will take the ride on mower I have now. I told him it would be extremely cheap, like a case of beer cheap...$50.oo

light snow and wind, aka snow squalls coming down, caused 20+ car pileup on I-81 in Central PA.
Good day to stay home with the heat turned up

nice plane Paul.
My diesel boat got .5mpg
How many gallons a mile does that jet burn?
About 3.75 miles per gallon in still air at 45,000 ft. Considerably less at lower altitudes.

BEF and Bupps, hope y'all get feeling better and get some sleep.

Rich, hard to get some parity in racing. Need some different brands in the big boys class.

Pops, I love flying! How did you get started? Where did you get your hours needed for flying people?

It's kind of neat having all these people with an affinity of Birch plywood.

Don, beautiful church. Hope the pilates did not wear you out too much...

Speaking of worn out....I just don't seem to have the energy I did 20 years ago. I took the 2nd lift hydraulic cylinder to work, to bust the nut off, and to skim/machine the rod packing's rust out of the wear bushing and dust seal groove areas. The main seal's groove is not rusted. Almost got done with the machining and had to take an important call about the possible new job. Still undecided. Still praying. A couple of things they are missing is, a fairly complete machine shop to do government jobs...They lack mid-size and bigger equipment.

Power went off at work this morning. Some contractors caused it by pulling on a big EMT pipe, trying to fit their pipe.... I heard a faint "clicking tick tak". It was the VFD in a manual mill Bridgeport clone. I could not get it to reset. Not sure if it got fried or not. I'm not an electronics guru. I know enough to get shocked...

Thomas, hope old man winter doesn't wear out his welcome too much.

Eric must be really busy with outside chores! Counting sheep by day, and by night too, going to sleep.

Sometimes, I just like a good ole country breakfast for supper....and watch a western.

Prayers for our team, especially those in need, our country, and Ukraine.

Good morning/afternoon all! Another mild Autumn overnight temp of 14C, light breeze and a sunny/cloudy day. Currently 26.1C outside which is a good 5C warmer than what's at the Aerodrome.

Could get windy tomorrow. That's about it.

Take care all.

Bird good luck with the grass.
Dennis glad no bite, good to hear new camera better than first.

Paul what are you burning per hour ?
Kyle for carrying passengers just a private license is needed, Paying passengers for charter work require commercial/instrument rating 250 hours but most operations require more. Airlines require ATP rating 1500 hours, again most operations require more hours. Building hours most common is become flight instructor. Good luck with with job decision, I really miss having machine availability.

Pops, I love flying! How did you get started? Where did you get your hours needed for flying people?

I was literally the kid that rode his bicycle to the little airport and hung out on the fence. I was fortunate that local pilots would note my interest and show me their planes and take me for rides. I took my first lesson in 1971, and continued from there. I think it took about 8 years to get to where I had commercial, instrument, and flight instructor ratings. Mostly due to having to make a living, and school. From there I did most every menial pilot job, towing gliders and banners, delivering antique planes, flying jump planes for sky divers, as well as flying canceled checks and charters. All the while operating various non aviation businesses to keep me afloat, and give me the time to fly. It worked well for me, but it worked out well and I would do it again, but was not the path for everyone. It allowed, (well actually required) me to gain experience in a variety of fields outside of aviation along the way.

15° right now...Brrrrrrr!! High about 30°

After the morning meetings, I've got some chores to do...after that, kick back...

   / Good morning!!!! #147,874
Good morning, low temp is 6 and high to 32°F. Wind N 5 mph. Sunny! They are talking about freezing rain for tomorrow. If I don't post tomorrow morning it will because of the FR.

The accountant called and I get a rebate on my income tax. So now to wait until CRA shells out my money. It should take about 14 days. New glasses and a z-turn should eat it up nicely.

I have always loved flying, but couldn't afford to take the lessons. Now I can afford the lessons quoted to me 30 years ago, $5-7,000.oo. I will bet the price has risen astronomically since the price of fuel went up so much. Then it was $110.oo/hr to rent a plane to practice on.

Today will be an energy conservation day.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
going to be a nice cold day today, 22 now going up to low 40's and then cold again tonight.
But tomorrow the warming trend starts for real.
I put the three blueberry bushes I bought locally in the garage for next few days, will plant them later this week when
ground fully thaws.

Put in an order to Burgess Seeds, including some more blueberry bushes at half the price of local ones. Basically buying wholesale vs retail.
Though local plants come potted, mail order likely will come bare root. I have had mixed results with bare root plants, some never wake up.

Need to go foodshopping this morning and might go pick up a few more bags of garden compost. I rarely have folks in rear seats so going to lay the second seats flat
and then put down an old tired blanket down as dirt collector. I wasn't careful enough last time I bought four flats and had to hit my brakes pretty hard to avoid someone and the
flats of pansies started sliding around. I stopped and was glad I did, one flat had almost tipped over into the nice leather seats.
I clearly need a better solution for organizing stuff, because I'm always hauling plants or flowers.

prayers for Peace

Drew what did your boat burn per hour? 35 gallons at 2000 rpm, 16 knots. 25 ton v hull motoryacht very inefficient but a great sea boat
Anyone who has owned Detroits knows that wonderful sound, 8V71TIs were wonderful engines but the boat really needed 8V92's which came in later.
They used to say your gpm was ten percent of the horsepower of one engine. Wide open that would be about right, 435hp engines.

22 going to 50. Too windy yesterday to do what I needed to do.

Ken, glad you took some rest. You've been working hard to clean up those trees.

Get well, Buppies!

Good Morning!!!! 46F @ 5:00AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 76F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Yesterday's rainfall amounted to only 0.11", enough to dampen the dust, but hardly a drop in the bucket.

$50 for a case of beer, Bill? I know that's only $40US, but that's not cheap!:ROFLMAO:

That's a big decision, Kyle, but you'll know when you've reached the right conclusion.

That's a LOT of fuel, Paul. Especially at today's prices.🤬

Yesterday's rain was more of a drizzle than actual rain, but it was enough to get three brush piles burned. The berms worked and nothing rolled out of the piles, and by dinner time all that was left were stumps. I don't think I've ever had a fire hot enough to completely consume a stump in one burn. Except the Camp Fire, which left nothing but ash where there was once a huge oak.
2022-03-28BurnPilePano.jpg

By two o'clock the sun was breaking through the clouds, and I was once again reminded of why March is my favorite month of the year. Hard to beat the green fields, wildflowers, pretty clouds, and cool temperatures. And parked in the side-by-side next to a toasty burn pile, a beer or two was a pleasant way to end the day.

Morning all, a cold 25, sunny, windy.
Got some sticks picked up with my new claw and got some fallen branches and small trees bucked with the pole saw.

The claw is ok, trying not to push it to hard. But it saved me bending over a few hundred times yesterday. 1 area done only 5 more small fields to go.

Some snow and snow squalls yesterday, but nothing stuck. Should be the last cold day for a while, hopefully.

Drew - most berry plants hate their roots to get sunlight.
I plant mine when it's cloudy or early/late in the day and have had good luck so far.

Buppies feel better - Keep those muscles working though to keep them from cramping.
Alien - how are the ribs doing?

Stay safe and be well,

Pick up sticks a bit easier on the back now. But this can't pick up anything too heavy. Found it can turn bigger branches up at least making them easier to grab.

Good Morning.
It’s 22 at home, 61 in Wichita going past 80 with thunderstorms likely this evening.

Yesterday was spent inside wither a classroom or simulator, so didn’t get to enjoy the nice weather other than walking to a restaurant for lunch. Finished up in the sim at 11pm, but just like daylight savings time it still felt like midnight to me.

Today will be a repeat, except for the thunderstorms, so we will take the rental car from the hotel to the training center rather walk.
