Good morning!!!!

Morning all, 23 going up to 31, sunny

Yesterday spent a few more hours brushcutting. When I finished up and came inside, looked out the window and ...Snow squall. I guess spring is taking a vacation for a few days.

BEF - feel better- hope it's not some reptile thingy

Plants do not look happy this morning.

The area I am clearing, I though was 60x 200, it's actually 200x200. No wonder it is taking me so long.
Looks like many years of neglect.
I am leaving the front 4 acres with just trails though to keep the wildlife.

Will need to decide what to plant in the cleared back once the rest of the dead ash come down (or are coaxed down).
Think I need something wildlife friendly but won't take massive maintenance.

Stay safe and be well.

Good morning, low temp is 3 and going to a high of 21°F. Wind NW 13 gusting to 20mph. 40% chance of flurries.
From yesterday until now we've got about 1/2" of additional snow, not enough to plow, yet.
It is too cold to work outside and way too cold to clean up the wood room of all the bark that fell off. The main water line that feeds the bathroom and laundry tubs runs right past the window we open to deal with the wood. We don't open it when there is (a) a north wind blowing and (b) when the temperature is under 40°F.
Granted the water line is above the window, but I don't want to take the chance. That is my excuse and I am sticking to it.

Energy conservation day today in preparation for a North Bay trip on Thursday.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning!!!! 50F @ 4:45AM. Steady light rain this morning. Showers continuing this afternoon. High 62F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70%.
I heard gurgling in the gutters when I awoke this morning, but it wasn't even enough to wet the concrete on the patio when I peeked out. It's stopped now, but the weather guessers are forecasting more rain later in the day. The radar map seems to show it dissipating as it moves north, so it's not looking good for more.

Added a column in the spreadsheet to calculate the gradient for the driveway, and a new plot to get a better idea of how it looks.

I see now why some vehicles had trouble getting up and out, as rise over run jumps to over 20% in one spot. And that seems flat compared to what I was on yesterday, so now I'll have to take a walk with the GPS on the new cleared ground to satisfy my curiosity.

Finished scraping the largest clearing yesterday, moving very slowly on the very steep and very uneven ground. Still found that back dragging the lid on the 4in1 worked the best, but never got comfortable driving over the resulting mound when I got to the bottom of the hill. Always felt like the front end was going waaaaay up in the air, and sometimes one wheel or the other on the back end would end up higher or lower than the other, resulting in an alarming amount of tilt to the side. Once over, I got to drop the box blade and push the dirt and sticks the rest of the way down the hill, creating something of a berm. I quickly learned to do that slowly, too, because if the blade caught on a rock or root, the back end of the tractor would rise up enough to produce quite a pucker in the driver's seat. I don't know if the berm is a good thing or not, or even if a good rain won't just wash all the dirt out leaving a pile of sticks. I also consolidated the wood in the three burn piles, and pushed enough dirt up below each one to create another berm that will hopefully catch anything that rolls out on the steep slope. Another reason to wait for a rainy day to fire them off, which I was hoping for today. The best the 10-day has to offer is "Partly Cloudy".

Hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Good morning! 60˚F cloudy, South wind, heading to the 80s. Rain is not expected here till Wednesday morning. Bird my Scotts fertilizer has been out a week and still the grass is not green/growing, maybe the rumors of cold temps up North has lengthen the dormancy.

Might try to make an extra men's pilates class this morning - can always use the extra torture.

Good Morning.
It’s 22 at home with a high of 27 forecast. Here in Wichita it’s a balmy 39 and going to hit 70.

Yesterday went well in the shop, I managed get all the internal parts for 4 speakers cut out, and have one all glued up. I left the house for the airport about 5pm, which was about an hour later than I originally planned. Copilots wife dropped him off at my house, and he rode with me. However my plane didn’t leave without us, it was sitting there waiting for whenever when we got there. Check in was easy, drove up to the plane and loaded our bags. If I ever actually travelled for myself, this would spoil me. But it’s way too rich for my cheapskate blood. I don’t think my Prius will quite compensate my carbon footprint for the amount of kerosene that we burned getting 2 of us to Kansas……

Now I’ve got 3 days of classroom and simulator to keep me occupied.

32°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 51° today. Winds were howling here most of the weekend, and they weren't the warm kind.

We had the visitation and funeral Friday night and Saturday morning for my Wife's uncle, then spent the better part of Saturday morning and early afternoon at her aunt's house waiting for another relative to bring food. After about three hours, we excused ourselves and headed back home. Wife decided to move stuff again, so we partially disassembled the quilting machine and moved it out to one side of the enclosed porch on the walkout basement, where it swapped places with the exercise equipment. The hope is that we'll use it more if it's inside where we see it every day. Admittedly, it's been several months since I've been on the rowing machine or the stationary bike. Need to get back at it.

I had planned to do some horizontal space mining and assemble the speaker cabinet, but it was just a bit too chilly out in the garage Sunday morning. So, I puttered most of the day in the studio, working on a couple of previously elusive guitar and bass tones through my Line 6 Helix modeler. It was time well spent.

Still have some catching up to do from the weekend's posts.

Good afternoon! 26 now, might make it to 29. Wind is blowing steady. Gonna be an inside day, other than bringing some wood in for the wood burner.

Got plenty to do in the garage, so guess that is a place to start. Got some BSA clutch parts to clean up, the ultra sonic cleaner is already warming up. Got my “office” type stuff done this morning.

Shame the weather isn’t cooperating, have a high wheel cultivator I need to sand blast and paint the metal bits. Maybe I will work on the handles. Or not.

Not sure about the new rules @Kyle_in_Tex. I am not a big fan of restrictions, but AFT has to do something with the mess they have created. And, IMO, it is a mess. I have seen the dyno charts of the Indians, the miles may be ugly, the Indians may be too down on power to draft the fastest bikes. Royal Enfield is adding another rider. Rumor is, it will be a woman.

Hope you get to feeling better BEF.

Everyone stay safe out there!

64°F and no rain.

Have vet appointment for Kekoa this morning. Sore on his side I thought may be ringworm doesn’t seem to be improving.

Need to sand and pain louvered doors. Hope I can do without making a mess.

Zoom Happy Hour this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
