I saw 4.39 for regular and 4.99 for diesel today in Wrightstown, always the highest there
Sounds like $115 a barrel oil is finally hitting the pumps
Sunday evening a barrel of oil is $127. Better fill up quick.

Live barrel of oil prices every 15 minutes:

The rain stopped about 2 P.M., just after I got done installing the fuel gauge and horn. It took 3 hours from checking oil in tractor to turning it around so the SW winds wouldn't be a factor, to turning it back around so I could plug it in. I cheated and used the wiring from the headlight switch that I disconnected a year ago to power the horn.
10-15" of snow coming tonight and tomorrow. More seat time. (y)

The parts finally arrived for my flail mower.
I have dismantled it and removed the main rotor shaft, bearings and hammers. Luckily I had bought a floor jack (trolley jack) recently so it took the weight as I let it down. I know my grease gun works well as there was plenty of grease which I managed to get all over myself. Hopefully tomorrow I can start the re'assembly.
I bought all new hammers (24 @ $20 ea) but the old ones are in excellent order so might re'use them this time. Even the bearings are in good condition so I will clean them up and store them for future use if needed. New bearing assemblies cost me $120 and the mower has to be dismantled to fit them so I will put the new ones in while I am at it. Hammers can be replaced any time. I will say I am impressed with the build of this flail.

Good morning, low temp is 26 and high to 25°F. Wind NNW 7 mph. Snow but so far none. They say 5 to 10 cm so we will either get a skiff or 5-10".
Temperatures this week will not get above freezing. The sap will not be flowing here for a while.

The wood pile is getting down, a WAG has it at about 2.5 face cords left. (Face cord = 1/3 of a bush cord.)

I decided that IF I take the tooth bar off it will be next fall. I had to beat it on almost 10 years ago, so you can just imagine how much beating I will have to do to get it off.

I might sell some bullion in spring. Not sure yet. No fear it is only silver. My gold is staying right where it is at.

Have a safe day all

good morning all
unusually warm day, up to 75 with thunderstorms this afternoon.
I might take a run out today with truck and pick up some garden dirt and amendments.
My raised garden sunk a little, need to get about two more inches of dirt on top.

I bet the forsythia opens up this afternoon in the heat. I don't see anything else popping up yet.

Doug, hope you are doing ok and the storm does no damage to your place

mostly_gas said, "Bird hope they take the extra bags. You seem to enjoy the extra lawn work."

NO, NO, NO. I do not want to do any lawn work at all; just (1) want the place to look decent, and (2) figure I probably need the exercise whether I want it or not, and (3) just cannot see paying someone else to do jobs I can still do myself.

And I've been doing yard work while we had nice warm weather. In fact, I had to change the HVAC system from heating to cooling for a few days. And now . . . .. 36°degrees again this morning. I guess winter ain't over yet.

At least we finally got a little rain last night. I just now poured agout .48" of rain out of the gauge.

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 4:15AM. Sunny. High 69F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.

You all have been so busy, and I'm falling behind again.

Good to read you're still among us, David Mossflower Woods!

I have an older Stihl MS261 with a carb but no priming bulb that is a little more reluctant to start than I'd prefer. The Makita electric has me very spoiled, but it doesn't have the muscle to get the job done in some instances.

Bingo, Kyle, a gen-u-wine VW Syncro Vanagon!

Yesterday we enjoyed a pizza at a local bistro, then took a leisurly drive up the Feather River canyon through the tunnels. Hardly a car in sight, a few waterfalls, and lots of bright granite. Finished up with a little target practice and a camp fire in the back yard, not a bad way to spend a Sunday at all.

We're off to the Eugene, Oregon area this morning to see what life would be like there. Maybe a night over on the Pacific coast on the way back.

61 headed to 82 and winds up to 44mph...a rare Wind Advisory here, rather than a storm advisory. Maybe rain tonight...need it...no good rain for the past month. I looked at the forecast for the mountain I was considering hiking...50mph, then snow on Wednesday.

Buppies, sorry about your lack of sleep...hope it gets better.

Finished my oldest son and DIL's taxes yesterday...taxes seem so high for a young married couple, both working.

RNG, have a fun trip.

Be careful of the high crime rate - 40 per thousand. Ours is 14 per thousand.

Good morning! 40˚ strong North wind, Winter again. Only had .02" rain with the front.
