Morning all, 25 going up to the 50's and grey.
Son off to competition and I will follow soon to help load instruments into truck.

LS - hope the knee swelling goes down. For us here, all bloodwork by appt. Good for me as it is 10 min all in.

Got my clematis - don't know why they shipped it so early, can't plant for a month!

Got 4 medium ash down yesterday, and some bucked up before the chain dulled and the sun started to set.
Nothing like dusty and rotten wood in a tree that needs to be cut up.
These were in the 18-20" and 60-80' range, so I used the smaller saw.

Had one barberchair on me, but was expecting anything with dead trees, by the time to started moving I was watching from a distance.

I was able to get three layed down nice and even,

Only four more in that area (back behind the downed ones) Before I get the 6 on the property edge and try to rope off some of the larger branches from the dead ones in the area I am clearing out and near the front trails.

Think these will keep me busy for a while. Glad I have 2 saws and lots of sharp chains.

Stay safe and be well.

Buppies - I have an Echo CS-490 (18" and 20" bars) and CS-620P (24" bar) a Milwaukee M18 pole saw (10" bar) for the little stuff and clean up.
So far a good combination as I haven't thought to myself "I wish I had a bigger/smaller saw" :)

The pole saw does have a few issues:

1) the chain loosens when doing big cuts, like bucking 8-12" wood.
2) the oiler is lame and usually just makes goo

I have to check chain tension when I start to hear rattling to keep the chain from coming off.
I have to clean and lube the chain after every day of use.
The chain does stay pretty sharp though and I don't need to sharpen that often.

I hand sharpen my chains and it is annoying that I need 3 file sizes, but the 3 saw cover all the jobs I have needed to do so far.

Good morning to all! Low of 29°, going up to the mid 40's. Breezy this morning, but better than the 50 mph gusts last evening.... lots of dust / dirt blowing around. Wasn't just here, they closed I-10 down south because of a dust storm reducing visibility to near zero. Unfortunately, no precipitation occurred.

I was surprised to see the bloodwork results back so early this morning. Everything is just about perfect. A bit below on the "good" cholesterol at 36, they want it over 40..... I better eat some cheerios..... Everything else basically hitting the "mid-range". We are happy with the results for sure.

Today's agenda includes dropping off a package at the PO, stopping at the auto parts store for filters, then maybe get into changing the oil in the vehicles.

Ken, looks like you have those trees under control! Good job!

Thomas, your plan for today sounds like you'll earn your keep for the day....

Roy, glad you can get to the dump... hopefully no more complications.

Drew, did you ever get an assistant?

Don, do you still have any numb spots? Any swelling after you walk or exercise a bit?

Everyone have a great day! ...and weekend!

Yeah...and watch out for horrendous inflation!!

I just paid $3.99 for regular gas

Dump run went OK...bulk stuff still prohibited and it'll be at least 6 months before the dump will be fully functional and able to accept bulk trash. My guess is we're going to see a lot of littering along the roads soon

63°F and .08 inches rain. Unseasonably dry for us

Sophie put together one of her great lasagnas yesterday which will be thoroughly enjoyed this afternoon when her brother comes over. I will contribute a fresh made garlic bread.

Be doing some clean up this morning. Dry day would be welcome.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Agree Roy grocery prices will increase their rise in price again. everything will be affected that ships by plane train truck ship etc. not a good place to be in now. No quick and easy answer either solutions that can make a difference are years down the road as Toppop said a while back
