Don, I spent the better part of 6 hours yesterday mowing my yard for the first time of this year. I have EIGHT big contractor bags full of clippings. Several little problems; I mowed the grass a bit tall last summer and my EGO mower wanted to bog down in it yesterday. The grass did not actually appear to be tall, but walking on it felt like it was too tall and too thick. So I mowed it with the EGO mower on the #4 height setting and self-propelled at the slowest speed. Then I went over all of it again in a different direction at the #3 height setting. I did have to stop and recharge that battery a couple of times. Needless to say, I was worn out by the time I finished.

Now I just have the one big battery for the mower and two small ones that I use for the string trimmer and blower. So far they all work BUT all the equipment and all the batteries are too old to have any warranty left.

So now I'm trying to decide whether to buy any more EGO stuff, which I sure do like, or whether to just hire the mowing done if the equpment dies. You know I'm already 2 years older than any male member of my family ever made it to in the past, AND I've been officially diagnosed with early stage Alzheimers.

And I was one tired, sore puppy by the time I finished mowing, got a shower, and did a load of laundry yesterday evening.

Bird, I think you might be better off with the latter of your choices.... let someone else do the hard work!

Thomas... sounds like you're working harder at the PT job than at your old FT job.

I hope the Russian citizens keep protesting.... I know they are being arrested, but they can only arrest so many then what? The whole (almost) world is putting the screws to Russia. There has to be a breaking point.

Well, the ortho doc finally realized that there is an issue with the knee. He was really shocked that it was as swelled as it was after a year. Also concerned that there is the associated pain. They provided a 'friction brace' to help with support and made a referral to a "nerve specialist". Being that I had 3 surgeries, there may be some underlying nerve damage. That would definitely cause the pain and swelling. At least maybe some forward thinking....

Spent some time with Max out in the yard this afternoon.... I think he really missed doing his "zoomies" around the yard. He came in and took a nap.... wish that I did too, now it's too late....

I don't know the temp outside, I knocked the remote receiver off of the hutch this morning and all it does is flicker parts of the LCD screen.... oh well, time for an upgrade. It was definitely warm. I had to take off my flannel and Max drank a bunch of water after coming in.

Good luck in your decision, Bird
I actually hope you continue to work as much as you can. I really believe if you keep your mind/brain active as possible, as long as possible, the progress of the disease will slow

Bird. Tough choices. I’d say do what gives you the most pleasure. Given your other diagnosis you might prepare for that future. Maybe enlist the wife to keep an eye open and when she thinks a change is appropriate.

Well, it's out of warranty so you need to decide if you want to repair or replace...good luck in your decision

Replace. Only cost $150 more than replacing the battery. The wait times reported on the internet for repair is excessively long because of the covid backlog.

You better hope they do a whole lot more than that:

Russian forces are - as of an hour or so ago - are shelling Europe's largest nuclear power plant in Ukraine ... from multiple directions.

One reactor (of six) is on fire.

Fortunately, the reactor is shutdown ... I'm guessing that if it weren't, the situation could potentially be much worse.
