Good morning! 21˚F, same as Roy without the snow this morning. Heading only to 32˚F so no melting the layer of ice that has shut Central Texas down. No loss of power from the grid and our town is still providing uninterrupted electricity to 100% of their customers.

Seeing how often Whipper fell on the patio this morning when I let her out is enough for me not to even try to walk on hard surfaces today. Looks like the ice will be a problem till tomorrow when it will get above freezing. The mail was not delivered yesterday and the garbage trucks did not run.

Today will be a cooking day, will start off with making soy milk with the instant pot and maybe make some more of those breakfast burritos with the pepperoni spiced hummus.

64F dropping later to 26...rain should restart in an hour or less so need to get out and do morning chores now.

Good Morning.
It was 55 when I woke up at 6, now an hour and a half later it’s 39 out there. We have gotten 1.3” of rain from this system so far.
It will be interesting as the temperature drops below freezing by noon, and stuff is still falling from the sky.

Yesterday was a frustrating day in front of the computer. I did get a lot done, but was unable to access an FAA website I needed to get to. I got a message that said it was an “Internet Explorer only” site. The frustration was that I was using IE. Next up was an email that I sent to the TSA bounced as undeliverable. The address I used was cut and pasted from the instructions they sent me. Neither problem is solved yet, that will be for today’s dance card.

We got more than our fair share and now the snow starting to blow...Roy turn snowblower chute the other way.

20F still snowing 8" fallen so far more to come before storm should ending around 6pm,couple more degrees be the high for today.

Outside chores done quickly E muffin time.
Plans for today...soon start plowing etc. slow steady pace during the day.

Good morning! 19 now. Snow is just starting again.

I took today off. My wife closed the rental store due to road conditions. She didn’t want any of her employees out on these roads.

I can’t get the front door open due to build up of ice/snow. Haven’t tried the rear door yet. Worst case I will go out a window to get to the garage. Fortunately, the garage man door opens inward!

But the wood burner is warm and I have fresh coffee so life is good.

There is no way I will run a snow blower without a cab. Even on a walk behind. The cab makes all the difference in comfort. Keeping the snow off makes it a bearable task. Before I got a cab for my walk behind, I despised blowing snow because of all the snow getting blown into my face.

Morning all, 55 here, weather keeps switching from rain to freezing rain and back. Looks like just plain rain will win. Freeze seems to be after rain stops-hope so.

OK , silver maple seems to be off my list Rip-thanks.

Fraser Fir - looks to be on the edge of growing in area 6-7, but possible.
I already planter a bur Oak and that seems to be doing ok, but won't be big for another 10-20 years.

Roy - careful in the snow- sounds like a tractor day!
