Good morning!!!!

25 going to 50...quite a difference from yesterday's mid 30s.

Prayers said for your family, Toppop.

Beautiful sky, Ron. Forgot to start coffee???

Buppies, the local weather guys are being very elusive about Sunday's forecast...I think they are gun shy after missing the big snow by so much.

Worked another 4+ hours clearing the woods path...can drive the tractor all the way. Had to cut down a few small trees that were broken or bent beyond "repair" including 3 really nice hollies...will use it for firewood...they burn hot. Also tackled a tall dead oak...unfortunately there was no direction to fell it without it getting hung on branches...so I had to use non-approved methods to get it down. Plan to split and stack today and roast coffee.

Sorry for the family loss, top.

27 outside this AM, heading to upper 40's.

Yesterday I put half the magnolia tree in the burn pile. I had not realized how heavy and big that thing is/was. I'll need to top it off as it is touching the bottom power line to the house. The shape, looked salvageable. So maybe we can get a few more years out of it.

The RTV did more hauling of sticks and twigs to the burn piles. Should be three, but is only one. I should set it off this week. I have three more trees to work on. And one may include a stump as it is in a place in the yards "no stump zone".

Back is telling me to take it easy today. LOL. SO says otherwise.

Need to make a beer run today. That is task number one. LOL.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

good morning all
a bit chilly out but should be a nice day

Toppop, sorry for the family loss.

Ron, nice sky.
Bill, does it feel good to run hot water over your hands and wrists?
It doesn't last long but for me sure reduces pain
I've never enjoyed putting on chains, always seemed to be a struggle.
I'm sure they make higher tech ones now.

You know the big lever hydraulic closers where you line up three or four hydraulic lines and
close them all with a lever? Somebody needs to invent a gizmo like that for chains.
I'm thinking of Bill and Lou's fingers...

memories of dragging, struggling with ice cold rusty chains in the tractor shed as a kid, not much light in there, usually after school the day before the storm
was predicted, getting chains on the JD B ready. Trying to get that last link closed but often they wouldn't budge. No one to help me either, two older brothers conveniently
disappeared when youngest brother got the crummy jobs. Like taking the trash cans to the dump in the woods or raking the long gravel driveway.
At 5am when my father had to drive to the train to work, that driveway had better be plowed.

He usually had a 50's Chevrolet with Firestone snow tires. They whined and rumbled but sure worked. Today's snow tires are even better.
Most had three on the tree and a straight six. He just wasn't a car guy........

Plowing in the dark with crappy old lighting and the snow coming down, the seat and steering wheel like blocks of ice,
that was such crummy duty. We sure have it better today. Popgadget's and Roy's rig are good examples.

I miss Rick from Texas. If any of you keep up with him, would you send him our regards.
y'all have a nice day

The models are handling this one very poorly wngsprd, in fact all over the place. If you live west of I95 think you will get snow how much to be determined

Man, I am over the snow for this year.

This storm has the potential to put down over a foot if it hits just right and good duration thru Monday AM

The low has not hit the west coast yet Thursday will tell us a lot more. After this at least two more before end of month and it will stay cold

Forgot to get coffee started. 27° with mostly cloudy skies. Heading to 38° with chance of rain/snow. Fire on second burn pile did not get started yet. May get it started this weekend. It was a good conserve energy day. No plans for today.
Sunrise yesterday.

Randy, sorry for your son's FIL passing. May he RIP.

Roy, good news.

Drew, my house has wiring over 80 years old. 2 wire plugs and such. I have replaced where I could as we did remodeling. Best thing is today most items we purchase today use a lot less current.

Don, good PT is working. My back PT was done by Egore. Seems to have worked well for me. It was like no pain, no gain.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.
Beautiful shot of sky.

I heard from my son, his father in law Dan, passed at about 9:25 tonight. I hate it for all of them, and I really hate it for the grandsons, they didn’t handle it well when my wife passed four years ago.

Sorry for the loss. Sad.

22° going into 40s. Didn’t get much warmer than this all day yesterday.

When I was framing my house 25 yrs ago, I would have to run hot water on my hands in morning to get them to open up. Holding hammer and stuff all day is tough on the joints.

Nice pic Ron. Glad you got coffee.

Wife reported shortages at store yesterday, no lettuce and salads, she got the last stouffers lasagna.

Good morning! 40˚F still dark, 1/2" of rain yesterday.

Today is an Egore day and I did not do my homework, I'm dreading todays session. Yesterday I took a day off because after the 5 minutes of squats Egore put me through Monday the upper outside of my thighs were very sore I could hardly walk, his delayed payback for not getting to squish my knee.

Nice morning pic Ron, most mornings I have to first grind the coffee, so there is always a delay but I take that time to feed Whipper and let her have a run in the back yard.

Randy sorry for the death in the family and hope the grandchildren will be able to cope well.

Drew, Rick is top poster of the month on TBN's stepchild site.

Morning all, 19 and going up to 41, according to WU our low is 26 (baffled)
calling for 10 Friday as the low- didn't realize this is the lowest we've been in over three years.

Dark by the time I finished day job, so not much done.

Good friend moved to Virginia from New Hampshire. Still need to catch up with him on all that's happened last few months. Think he moved there for the snow ?

Coworker with stroke needed operation, waiting to hear back on how he is.

Randy - condolences on his FIL passing- I hope it's not so traumatic for the grandkids. Not sure how much my son remembers of his GrandParents. Only my father is left from that generation and he lives other side of US.

Stay safe and be well,

These does seem to be here every day for the last month. Buck that was with them seems to have left.
Probably a lot of bambi's in the spring......

Good Morning.
It’s a balmy 15 degrees here and going to 35 by late afternoon.
Cold enough that the propane furnace in the shop took over from the heat pump.

Yesterday was spent in the shop almost all day. Morning zoom meeting was relatively painless. Made all the corrections and changes to the document I was working on, and submitted it for further review. Now I wait for the next round of findings.

Today will be more document work, and hopefully some tinkering.
I would really like to get something into the smoker, likely ribs or pork shoulder, but not ruling out a brisket either. I’ll have to recruit some volunteers to eat it all though, with just the two of us here, food goes a long way. Maybe this week end or next week.
I haven’t had to go anywhere in a while, but it looks like my next three days will find me in Grand Rapids, Hilton Head and Stuart, FL. At least I will be home every night.

I lost another old friend last Friday, like so many here, it’s becoming a frequent occurrence, a byproduct of growing old. My condolences to everyone with a recent loss.

Tonight is a Zoom meeting for the Airport Authority, hopefully it will be productive and concise.

Poorly for sure, I looked at six forecasts based off different models, apparently by Sunday it’s going to be sunny and 49, heavy rain and 42, mixed precipitation and 38, partly cloudy and 26 (no joke) light snow 35 and the winner is the local in house model that says we could get a foot of snow or any of the above because it’s too soon to tell.

They will all call it right by Sunday afternoon, and claim they nailed the forecast.
