Good morning!!!!

25 going to 50...quite a difference from yesterday's mid 30s.

Prayers said for your family, Toppop.

Beautiful sky, Ron. Forgot to start coffee???

Buppies, the local weather guys are being very elusive about Sunday's forecast...I think they are gun shy after missing the big snow by so much.

Worked another 4+ hours clearing the woods path...can drive the tractor all the way. Had to cut down a few small trees that were broken or bent beyond "repair" including 3 really nice hollies...will use it for firewood...they burn hot. Also tackled a tall dead oak...unfortunately there was no direction to fell it without it getting hung on branches...so I had to use non-approved methods to get it down. Plan to split and stack today and roast coffee.

Sorry for the family loss, top.

27 outside this AM, heading to upper 40's.

Yesterday I put half the magnolia tree in the burn pile. I had not realized how heavy and big that thing is/was. I'll need to top it off as it is touching the bottom power line to the house. The shape, looked salvageable. So maybe we can get a few more years out of it.

The RTV did more hauling of sticks and twigs to the burn piles. Should be three, but is only one. I should set it off this week. I have three more trees to work on. And one may include a stump as it is in a place in the yards "no stump zone".

Back is telling me to take it easy today. LOL. SO says otherwise.

Need to make a beer run today. That is task number one. LOL.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

good morning all
a bit chilly out but should be a nice day

Toppop, sorry for the family loss.

Ron, nice sky.
Bill, does it feel good to run hot water over your hands and wrists?
It doesn't last long but for me sure reduces pain
I've never enjoyed putting on chains, always seemed to be a struggle.
I'm sure they make higher tech ones now.

You know the big lever hydraulic closers where you line up three or four hydraulic lines and
close them all with a lever? Somebody needs to invent a gizmo like that for chains.
I'm thinking of Bill and Lou's fingers...

memories of dragging, struggling with ice cold rusty chains in the tractor shed as a kid, not much light in there, usually after school the day before the storm
was predicted, getting chains on the JD B ready. Trying to get that last link closed but often they wouldn't budge. No one to help me either, two older brothers conveniently
disappeared when youngest brother got the crummy jobs. Like taking the trash cans to the dump in the woods or raking the long gravel driveway.
At 5am when my father had to drive to the train to work, that driveway had better be plowed.

He usually had a 50's Chevrolet with Firestone snow tires. They whined and rumbled but sure worked. Today's snow tires are even better.
Most had three on the tree and a straight six. He just wasn't a car guy........

Plowing in the dark with crappy old lighting and the snow coming down, the seat and steering wheel like blocks of ice,
that was such crummy duty. We sure have it better today. Popgadget's and Roy's rig are good examples.

I miss Rick from Texas. If any of you keep up with him, would you send him our regards.
y'all have a nice day

The models are handling this one very poorly wngsprd, in fact all over the place. If you live west of I95 think you will get snow how much to be determined

This storm has the potential to put down over a foot if it hits just right and good duration thru Monday AM
