51 and partly cloudy @ 12:00, heading up to 53F for the day. Showers later turning into a steady rain overnight.

Got hopper and two sunflower tube feeders refilled yesterday, also one suet feeder plus scattered cracked corn on ground for doves. Saw about 20 of them on the ground yesterday around the feeders.

Dishes put away.

Woodworking yesterday included roost box, nest shelf, and a hopper feeder:

Stapled in hardware cloth for small woodpeckers on back wall of roost box, also got dowel rods glued in for perches.

Sides and floor of nest shelf glued and screwed, also back mounting board cut.

Some more cutting for hopper feeder, plus got it glued and screwed about halfway.

More of same today, plus get out and check the water in that birdbath.

Happy Christmas Eve Day to all.

Looking for a record high temperature Christmas Day tomorrow. So I swept off the patio, washed off the table out there just in case anyone wants to eat outside tomorrow.:)

Hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year this year.

Kyle, months ago I promised my wife I would have her kitchen functional by Christmas. Thanks to the Electrician I found through a friend we scraped in by 4 days. We found suitable handles a couple of days ago for drawers and doors and I managed to fit 1 to the pantry yesterday. That was the one door she needed working as she couldn't manage to open it. I will fit the rest of them over the next couple of days. I have made a template so I can't screw it up. The oven is now working which was a major requirement. When I have handles fitted I will post a pic of the kitchen area.
The Electrician I sacked didn't have the guts to send me a bill for the last few jobs he did. I didn't intend paying him anyway. I threatened to report him and told him I was going to get his bill scrutinised when he sent it so he obviously decided he better not charge me.
The 'new' electrician is going to come and give me a quote and arrange for electrical trenches to be dug to house and barn so I can stop using extension cords.
Christmas morning here now so let me take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and hope you and friends and family all stay safe.
Bird, We have overcast with possibility of some rain so that will keep the extreme heat away I hope. Rain for Christmas would be very nice.

Good afternoon! 73˚F mostly clear skies. The Dr. said no bandage is needed on the knee but I think I will break that rule at night. There were too many times I woke up after just a slight movement. The knee skin is still very sensitive.

Christmas Eve and there will be many songs at the service tonight, I think I'll be able to go at this time but will see later how I feel. Vegetable lasagna is on the menu. Later tonight I get to open "the package" and will find out which new mystery machine is wrapped up. My wife said we have enough ingredients in the pantry to make something tonight. ??

RS when you stapled in the hardware cloth did you think of my knee?

The newspaper printed kids letters to Santa. I can't believe their list of wants - iPhone 12, iPhone 13, If you still believe in Santa you don't need the latest iPhone.

Morning all, 34 and going up to 48, sun is out.
Had a very think coating of pebbly snow last night.
So time to put on the plow and get more firewood up to the rack by the door.

Cramer was caught showing how he moves the market, unethical in my opinion, he got a promotion after that came out and the entries on his site disappeared.

Sorry to hear about your ear Randy- at least it;s on the radar and not missed.

Don - keep it going, glad Dr. thinks all going well!

RNG - I thought smoke detector batteries are only supposed to die at 2am, seems like mine do.....

Got some more of the lower trail cleaned up to the main road. Getting ready to do the path parallel to the road and back. Think I found the original builders road from 40 years ago. Has some medium size trees in the middle of it now.

Stay safe and be well,

welcome mtsoxfan
Ken, nice rig. How much traction do you have on that?
What's the most you've pushed?

If you still believe in Santa you don't need the latest iPhone.
Well said Don.

I can see little Sally getting up on Santa's lap and pulling out
a portable credit card reader and sweetly asking for Santa's Gold Card...

While I was in his investment club, it was very seldom that I was quick enough after an alert came out that the target price was available on the stock. I suspect that was because the number of members in the club was large enough that supply and demand was in effect: Not enough shares for everyone to get the number they wanted, and that drove the price up, and most members stupidly paid the higher pirce. Cramer specifies using limit orders, and not doing the deal if the limit price is exceeded. Clearly most members weren't disciplined enough to do that. I don't think that kind of thing is nefarious, more like an unintended consequence. It certainly devalued the worth of the membership for most people, unless of course you could sit by your computer all day waiting to pounce on the next club alert. That wasn't me, so I let the membership expire and moved most of my securities to an S&P ETF, which is the stragety Cramer endorses for folks like me that are too busy to do the work on individual stocks. This year it's worked rather well, but that isn't always the case.

Yes, I guess I was lucky it wasn't 2AM, as that's usually when stuff like that happens here, too. Yesterday the timing was such that it was of those "now what?" kind of moments.

We come from Tolland Ct. Great views of Willoughby Gap from our property, reason why my wife wanted this land. We already knew some neighbors, but everyone else we met have been warm and welcoming us "flatlanders".
Welcome to GM Mtsoxfan...the light always on.
