Good morning! 31 now, supposed to get to 36. The rain is over. Think it alternated between rain and drizzle all day yesterday.
The trigger rebuild went great. I think the biggest issue was the poor fit of the trigger rebound spring plunger. I had to use a punch to push it out of the bore. A little careful polishing of the plunger and bore made it into moving with gravity. Downside, now I need to do the other revolver trigger, the one I “thought” was decent. It isn’t now.
Also came up with a simpler way to install windows in the cargo trailer. I am using windows narrower than the uprights in the wall. So I need spacers, not a complex frame.
Went to town for Chinese. Been a while Since we were there. Then a slow ride home so my wife could check out Christmas lights. Off to bed early and slept good.
Going to do the grocery run today. Not sure what else I am going to get into.
This saga is about over….I promise! One year ago….
Night was ok. The latest med was helping. I now was getting a warning before things happened. Couple of times, the aide almost made it for me to use the bed pan. It was still embarrassing and frustrating. Got the morning blood draw. Then my charge nurse was in and gave me the last pill to slow things down. We talked about it and decided to take it a little late, just before breakfast.
Cream of Wheat was on the breakfast menu. I am not a fan, but ate the entire amount. Closest thing to solid food in weeks. Rest was juices, Boost, yogurt, etc. And coffee, which tasted like burnt water. But I drank it anyway for the caffeine.
The morning was fairly calm. Then about mid-morning, I called the aide for the bed pan. And with that…control was back. The embarrassment and frustration was over.
About mid-afternoon I got a visit from Dr. C. He was the 2nd covering doctor for the weekend. And turned out to be Dr. Deb A’s department head. Really nice guy, very pleasant to talk with. We reviewed a lot of things. He was concerned about 2 liver enzymes that had gotten extremely high, but admitted it was likely due to the lipid fats they had been putting in me.
And then…..he told me he was considering sending me home, I was about 48 hours ahead of “plan” and ”was not going to get any better laying in that bed eating their food.” He wanted to see my Monday blood work, if the 2 concerning enzymes stayed stable or fell, I would be released. He felt familiar surroundings and food would do me good.
I was stunned. I thanked him. And he left.
Called home and let my wife know there was a possibility I would be released. She had just gone back to work towards the end of the last week after her quarantine period was over. She contacted he supervisor after we got off the phone and told him she may need emergency leave which he granted her immediatel.
The rest of the day was quiet, was trying hard to control my emotions. I didn’t want to get my hopes up and have them dashed on Monday. Spent a quiet evening watching TV…..and a quiet night that even included some sleep
Everyone stay safe out there!
