Coffee is cooling in cup. 30° with light snow this morning. Heading to 34° with snow accumulation up to 5". Got tires mounted on new Mule wheels at local tire shop. Brought them installed and installed on Mule. One of the old steel wheels must have been out of round. With new wheels Mule runs very smooth. After ride retorqued the lug nuts. Sassy has been having upset stomach problems lately. Took her to vet yesterday. Put her on a bland diet and some meds for 2 weeks. Hope that fixes her problem.
Cranes have been gone from my place for a couple of weeks. Warm weather brought them back.

Don that is quite the machine you have to use for PT.

Mostly, bird feeders are about 30 feet from where Hawk was perched. Sparrows spend a lot of time in the same pile of branches.

Riptides, christmas lights look great. When I came home from Vet yesterday. It was dark out. Drove thru a couple of subdivision. Christmas light looked great. Have not done that in awhile.

Buppies, hope surgery heal fast and Dr reports are good.

Buckeye, have a safe trip home.

Ken they have charged over 100 for school threats in Metro Detroit area for making threats to schools. Sure hope they follow thru on the charges.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Good morning, low temp 16 high to 19°F. Wind NE 8 mph. 60% chance of flurries.

Junior did a good job of getting the downed tree out of the driveway. It is a little long for where I want to put it and the wrong orientation, but I will chain it to the loader bucket and turn it then stuff it into the bush at the end of the driveway. I have a snow dump down there. If I remember I will try to get pictures.

Jobs for today in daylight, (1) fill genny, fill ALL the gas cans with Shell Z-power non-ethanol gas and dump the cheap stuff into the Jeep. The Jeep is a little low on fuel anyway. (2) go to the dump. (3) get another bag of salt for the water softener. Culligan really dropped the ball this time. I called them over a month ago and they've finally set the date at the end of the month for the salt delivery.

After the gas and salt, I will put my feet up and conserve energy.

Have a safe day all

Morning all! 32 here with 3 to 6 inches of snow coming. Looks like an end to the mild temps coming with 30 degree temps in the daytime and low teens at night. Pellet stove will be humming!

Wife and I are doing great health wise although I had a bad couple days this week. Not sure what caused it as I have been careful with foods.

Getting preps ready for Christmas as we are having it here this year.(Like always!)Lot's of cooking and baking needs doing.

Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Looking4new said, "Bird, were the 'English peas" mushy peas? They are big fat peas in a pea like gravy."

Nope, just the usual. Many, many years ago, during the summer when I was between the first and second grades in school, I spent 6 weeks in The Crippled Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City for surgery on my left foot to correct a polio problem. I was there 3 weeks before the surgery and 3 weeks after. And one of the things that stuck in my mind the rest of my life was the night before the surgery, supper included english peas with peanuts in with them; something I'd never heard of before. And that night, I was violently ill and vomiting; can't say whether it was from what I ate or from fear of the coming surgery. But the taste of those english peas coming back up stayed with me and you could not have forced me to eat an english pea for the next 30 years or so. I eventually got back to liking them, but the only ones we buy to eat at home are the "LeSuekur very young small sweet peas" although I've eaten english pea salads elsewhere that I thought was very good.

Take it easy Buppies. Praying for good results for you.

Bird, the link would not open. I did not ask which new knee I got but will ask next week when the Dr. pulls out the 57 staples. This is the first time I have ever had staples.
Don, I'll probably never understand computers. That link worked yesterday because I checked it when I posted it, but it won't work for me either this morning.

I've been in a lot of hospitals in my life as a patient, visitor, or police officer, but never anything like that experience with the Medical Center of Lewisville (Texas). One evening the week before the surgery we were "invited" to an orientation at the hospital, with visitors welcome. So Margaret and I, and our eldest daugher, went to that meeting. There was probably 25-30 people present. Besides a nurse telling us everything you'd want to know, and asking if we had any questions, she passed around a sample of the material to be used. I was surprised at how heavy it was. And I remember when we left, our daughter said, "She made it sound more like a vacation than surgery." She was right. After the surgery, they later asked if there was anything they could do better and I couldn't think of a single thing.

good morning all.
steady light rain out, pitter pattering on windows, will go on for most of the day, same precip that's coming down as snow for Phil and those North of here.
It's the week before Christmas, a little snow is good.
I think most kids are now out for the holidays so I bet they'll be having fun in New England.

46 degrees out now, high of the day.

Batteries are charged (finally...) in the snowblower and the gen. I'm ready for winter.
drilled my driveway lane marker holes yesterday and with a small rubber mallet tapped them in easily.
Not as elegant as Popgadget's soon to be world famous marker whacker, but easy.

noticed that my 40 gal propane tank hooked up to gen was half full. At least I have a spare full 30 in the garage and can
always steal the one off the barbecue in a pinch. And worst case I'll dump gas in the gen and run on that. But propane is so
much better, plugs never foul, carb stays clean. Just not so wonderful in really cold weather if tank is exposed. So far my "little" tanks have
worked fine, but really haven't been given the test in a low temp outage. I'd be fine if I never had to, but there are too many trees around here and
power is always iffy during windstorms. All those dying ash trees...remember the pic of all Ken's downed trees? Well this whole area is like that.

never got a haircut this week. Not that motivated to venture out in this mess today to get one.
Need to call my MIL today. When we planted an amaryllis bulb for her last week when I visited, I know she will be watching
for the first growth. She gets two months of enjoyment out of that flower, watching it grow and bloom.

27° right now...high in the low 30's...probably not above freezing.
Snow predicted to start early afternoon and continue all night. Possibly heavy at times. Accumulation is predicted to be 5-8 inches. Full tank in the tractor and EGO batteries fully charged for the snow blower
Long range (10 day) forecast is snow on Christmas Day...that would be nice..

Not enough to justify a dump run, but I do need to pick up a bottle of rum (Christmas present) before the snow develops. After that, continue watching Babylon 5...almost through the first season and watch the snow

53 going to 63, maybe showers.

Neat machine, Don...sounds like you are managing your recovery well.

Buppies, take it easy and heal fast.

W7Bob, how much snow do you get?

Hope Sassy is doing better.

Flushed the tractor radiator yesterday and added new coolant. Also saw in my log that it's been 5 years (also in December) since I washed it, so on such a warm day gave it a good bath. It was sunny and warm when I started, and turned to a light rain before I finished. Still need to lube the FEL.

Got the confirmation email yesterday that my bid to sell carbon credits was accepted in the December auction. I still have mixed feelings about participating. I'll donate the money, and feel better.

Roy, it's funny that no matter what planet or galaxy the aliens on that show are from, they all know how to sidle up to that big cocktail bar.
Be careful in the snow, no slips.

Hope you get snow on Christmas.
Ho ho ho
