Yes, it’s very tough on critical care nurses. Good friend is one. She said she see’s too many dying.

Daughter worked in Pulmonary intensive care when Covid started. After a year of it, she transferred to ER, as it was taking a toll on her.

good morning all.
.37 rain last night and still pretty breezy out there. I wonder how many of my neighbors remaining leaves I just inherited.

David, can't wait until we see little tomatoes growing in that greenhouse. Though a greenhouse in Hawaii I'm sure is used for different plants than
they are here. What are your plans?

I'd love to get another greenhouse. Might be able to engineer a simple cold frame addition to the side of garage. Gets direct afternoon sun so will warm up in there.
Of course then I'd put in a really big garden in that open lawn in the back yard. Perhaps getting a bigger garden shed was a good idea long term.
I look at Don's winter veggies and just drool.

Putting in a garden means a real restriction on traveling. Need to chat with my SIL and see if she will tend a garden so I could take off for a couple of weeks. Want to take the train
to California next year.

Of course that would mean a rototiller. No more buying them....will ask my friend with an old Troybilt to dig it up for me. Lot of rocks here, typical New England soil.

Bird, sounds like a fun, tiring and very successful outing. It was 64 here yesterday. Weather sure can be all over the place...

went to get an apple pie from local market to give as gift. Wow. Price went up from 20 to 24 dollars a pie. Almost like selling it by the piece.
I bought apples instead...

Good morning, low 28 high to 41°F. Wind WSW 15 gusting to 21 mph. A mix of sun and cloud.
Next Friday the daytime temps will get down below freezing again.
We dodged most of the freezing rain bullet. We also didn't lose the power, a few flickers but that was it.

Today I will go out and clean the inside of the loader bucket and coat it with pam. I did the concave side of the back blade last week with Fluid Film. That gets expensive so pam will do and a lot cheaper.
If there is any pam (2 cans) left then I will do the convex side of the blade.

Lottery has not been good for me as of yet. Only won $5.oo on a $104.oo ticket, but it is good for 52 draws bi-weekly. 6 months. I get one in spring and the second one in fall and play the same numbers yearly. It is a steady 1 million $ draw with 1 million $ encore.
It will only take a million $s for me to retire totally.
I go halves with my stepson on the fluctuating lotto max, so far no joy.

Have a safe day all

Good Morning.
It’s 39 and only going to 44 today under a clear sky.

Yesterday I tinkered with some brackets for the carryall to get the trash cans a little higher. Probably install them today after I take wife and her goods to Farmers market this morning. Her car threw a batch of coil pack codes yesterday, so I’ve got her stuff all loaded up in the KubVan. She decided that she didn’t want to drive it, after I had her take me for a test ride. I think it was a combination of no power steering and the visibility requiring reliance on the mirrors.
So I’m off to the farmers market shortly. I’ll go back and pick her up this afternoon.

Daughter worked in Pulmonary intensive care when Covid started. After a year of it, she transferred to ER, as it was taking a toll on her.
I think for many health care professionals this has been like going through a war. Physically and emotionally draining.
Used to be folks transferred out of ER to reduce stress...shows you how times change.
My late wife was charge nurse at Capitol hospital in Trenton. There wasn't a shooting or stabbing she didn't like...professionally. 18 years of that and she
was just worn out. Then she did pulmonary and oncology in specialty practices. Even worked for a plastic surgeon in N. Miami when we lived there on our boat.
She absolutely loved that. Gorgeous women would come in with suitcases of cash. What an interesting niche business.
Hey these folks don't wash their own cars. They hire detailers. And these women would get lipo for the tiniest amounts, the pursuit of perfection.
So sad really. All the wrong values. My brother just got back from Ft Lauderdale and remarked "everyone there is to see or be seen", a constant parade of attractions,
mixed in with the crass and superficial.

Most of us do not have to deal with life or death decisions in our work. Medical folks do. High rate of drug abuse, perhaps to combat the stress.
As Paul says, it truly takes a toll on you.
Front line folks, military, fire, police and medical, lot of folks working hard to keep us safe.

I always take Entemann donuts into doc offices. With chocolate ones included. Never fails.
Yes it would be better to take them apples or oranges, but they really want those chocolate donuts.
And Entemann's makes a fine chocolate donut.

Buppies, hope you are feeling better.

33° right now...high around 40°. Kind of a gray day, but supposed to be sunny later...hopefully dry the place up a bit

Was nice sleeping in today...normally up and about between 0315-0500
No plans, other then paying a couple bills and continue watch "Babylon 5", a Sci-Fi series from the 1990's

Added:
Might be one chore to do...a minor rearrangement of the garage so it'll be easier to get to the extension cord and outlet for the Deere's block heater. The work will consist of moving the Gator and Mower out of the garage and moving the portable genny to a different location (which I should have done originally)

I was just watching the TV news about the tornado damage in Kentucky. I've been to the scene of at least 4 tornadoes shortly after they happened, but never anything that bad. And on the Fox 4 news they mentioned that Carter Bloodcare in this area is sending blood. Sure makes me glad I donated blood again at Carter Friday; two days ago.
