Think I got caught up on reading GM. As usual you guys have been busy.
Not sure what I’ll get into today. Maybe just a transitional day to ease back. Maybe piddle around a bit, go to PO.

Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 8:45 AM. Partly cloudy skies. High 67F. Winds NNW at 10 to 15 mph.
Did get some rain yesterday, but only just over a tenth of an inch. Weather geek says that we're just less than 60% of normal for this time of year, so we're already behind. Still no rain in the 10-day.
I think I'd be taking a canoe paddle or long pole with me on those marsh walks, Eric. Just in case you find an extra soft spot and you skinny butt sank too deep to get to your cell phone.
Looks like good progress, Doug. Gonna be like camping until they finish the kitchen?
Got a note from the insurance company yesterday asking me to verify mileage on the two vehicles I have with them. Put less than 2000 miles on the van last year, less than 5K on the truck. Glad the company that insures the bikes doesn't ask for mileage...
Finished installing the LED floodlights on the house yesterday, and got the one on the pump house wired. Looks like I used a 3-way switch on one of the other circuits present in the box, and need to find the hot lead for the smart switch that will drive the LED flood. That won't take long and that job will be done. Still have four more security cameras to install, so my time in the attic isn't over just yet.
Got a buddy coming over tomorrow to assist/distract on the transmission. Be interesting to see how that goes. I made a couple drawings that show the dimensions involved in calculating the shim thickness that control shaft end float, and verified that the spread sheet I use is correct. That'll be at least half the battle.

thanks guys. Next year I start working on the graveyard walls which need a lot of pointing.
But on them I get to sit down on a chair which makes this pointing work much easier.
I can't do weights and I can't do heights so have to volunteer where I can.
I told the two guys who did this job that their grandchildren could come visit the Meeting and could see the
walkway Grandpop built. I'm just the clean up man.
I think I used some old mortar a few times back so keeping an eye on things, have found some cracking.
Fresh portland cement #1 worked just fine today, and fluffy in the bag. Not a giant block of concrete like what they
expected me to use.
I think I'm ready for my infrequent celebratory beer, a Land Shark I believe.

Was looking at pics of Sodamo's furnishings and wonder how he was fitting all that stuff in that space,
and of course, it was Alien's house instead... I think every square inch of David's new abode is calculated out.
thank goodness for coffee. Sleep is overrated...and I get plenty anyway.
Thought about going out and running the snowblower, make sure it starts. But then there is
always tomorrow. Tomorrow is winning out. It was stored with a full tank of 9 dollar gas so it had
better start. That super E0 in a big can. The engine is one of those high tech designs with fuel injection, but the fuel injection has
its own small lithium battery that is charged by an outside charger. The problem is, like most snowblowers, it doesn't
have a battery, just a place to plug in an extension cord. So most snowblowers have AC starters, sort of strange.
but to pump the fuel I need a power source and apparently a regular battery won't do. They have to make this more complicated and the
battery in question is hidden someplace far inside. Not like a small motorcycle battery weighs that much.
I'm happy that it's EFI, throttle is electronic, not manual and smooth as a rheostat.
The whole idea for paying more was so it would be more reliable starting.
We shall see.

After showing my wife where I was going to mount the Eley on the side of the house, we agreed upon a spot to plant a post. 
So dug a hole, found an old 4x4 behind the barn in good shape and planted it. Found an 80# bag of hard concrete mix in the shed, and used it to fill the hole. It came apart with my digging iron, then layered and mixed with water in the hole. By using a post I am able to aim it for a straight pull to the garden.
Got the bracket on to try it.
And the hose pile to go on it. Will need a longer short hose to the reel, think I have one in basement.
Had a hot air balloon go over, only 42° out today.
