Good morning!!!!

I read the article and can see the reason she said it but, initially I figured it was something about Dikes and frozen canals.

Prayers for Topps, Ron being better than OK, Ed getting over his cold, BEF to be in such great shape that his wife never needs a stud finder and all that need them.

RNG, Maybe that stuff will work. I'm guessing it has a low temp melting alloy mixed in? Maybe bismuth? Might be a hit or miss and require some craftsmanship and good fortune. I know you have the craftsmanship part good to go.

125, I got tired just reading what all you put into the carts.

We are well and have made school and work for the whole week!

I was thinking of taking off Monday Presidents Day and taking the family down to the San Jacinto battlegrounds for a Texas history lesson. It will depend on the weather.

San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site — Texas Parks & Wildlife Department

The Battleship of Texas is just across the street.

78F downhere tonight. Might need to run the AC.

My wife doesn't care to get flowers. She prefers chocolates and "a gift that lasts". She told me the card I got her made her "tear up". :)

Kyle, it dijk not dike.

When you go out to San Jacinto Battle grounds have a great lunch or dinner at the Monument Inn.

Kyle, good to hear your family is well and doing fine.

Bird, my consistent rejection from jurys has resulted from my firm belief that the death penalty is the only guarantee against recidivism.

Drew, that's a clever use of the old peanut jar, but I wouldn't trust the filtration. Very difficult to beat a throw away paper filter, and an oiled sponge or gauze isn't much protection at all.

Jay, I think we lost our competitive edge when we held the doors wide open for foreigners to attend our graduate engineering schools and work at the highest levels of our industries. We gave away our best technologies, and with the H1B program, continue to do so. The trade off has been a proliferation of a desire for individual freedom in formerly closed cultures that has led to the breakdown of many of the worst human rights governments. Still a long way to go, and it's debatable if the tradeoff has been worth it.:2cents:

That's a heck of a tractor, Wng. See any with a Subaru engine in 'em?

Got the compressor repaired, celebrated by blasting and spraying a new coat of paint on the old Klaxon brand horn for the old motorcycle. I tested it before the abuse, and if it doesn't work now, it's because of the beads and/or paint...

Touring bike is packed and ready to go at first light tomorrow. Gonna be a chilly ride over the hill, probably in the low 30s. Not much over 50 until I start descending into Death Valley. Gonna use a lot of electricity keeping the grips and jacket warm, and once I get out of the mountains and can wick it up a bit, lots of fuel.:D

Not sure what kind of cell reception I'll have down there, so I hope everyone has a great President's Day weekend!

thanks, I agree and so does my friend. Parts on order, oiled foam filter came out of old Tecumseh.

to bed too early, up too early, enjoying a cup of coffee in the middle fo the night. Will definitely be a nap day.
Like many of us I don't make it through the night without a walk to the bathroom and that 2-3pm sort of wakeup is my downfall.
Lay back in bed, start thinking about making that first row straight today. Start thinking about cleaning ladies coming and what I had to pick up.
Just having them force me to pick up all my junk every two weeks is a blessing. Always been a piler, not a filer.

Wingsprd, I have to find that museum, I must drive on by. My problem is a 8-9 hour drive each way and how to stop in the middle of that. Maybe if I'm staying over at my brother's up your way it could be a stop. Now I have to look up where it is. Thanks for pics. One of my little pocket cameras insists on 7-8mb pics, and I have yet to find a way to change that, resolution, whatever, have gone through every menu. Just should get the model and Google it. It seems just about anything is on the Internet.

Different camera takes .6MB pics, much better. I'm looking at a 27 inch monitor, extra resolution is never a problem but I know it can make it very hard to see on a smart phone/tablet
when sometimes the pic pops up fully zoomed in. Looks like you are looking at a piece from a jig saw puzzle and where does it fit in.

It shows i need a date when I'm potting tomato plants at 4am.....

Ed, hope you feel much better soon. Don't get dehydrated.
Reminds me of the kindergarten saying: One Sick All Sick
Miserable for sick caregiver. Time for naps, if the world will let you.

Drew, yes it was the older generator, the 24kw diesel. Went down just before Christmas. This is the 2nd water pump replacement and just a tad over 1500 hours. Guessing the bearing is the weak point as that was the failure both times. If I can find right bearing and seal I would like to rebuild. PITA to replace as the unit is in a sound enclosure so very tight working area compared to an open frame.
Generators are somewhat the bane of my existence. A couple days into my trip I was monitoring the system and noticed a problem. Fortunately my house/dog sitter is handy and figured out my military surplus Gen has thrown the serpentine belt and was able to replace it.
So today I’m on the fat side with 4 function generators: 24kw Chinese diesel, 10kw MEP803 military, 5500watt Honda EU7000, (all currently hooked in for Autostart and individually selectable)and the Honda EU2000.

That trip was a first for my Bride but, I’ve been there many times, starting when I lived in London in the 70’s.

Have you ever been to Kynderdijk to see the windmills? It’s SE of Rotterdam.

In Winter, when the canals are frozen, the local folks go there to ice skate.

Oh yea, did a fair amount of traveling in Holland, also Delft, Madurodam, Amsterdam come to mind.

I dont watch the news, cant stand it. I do read news headlines, they pretty much carry the story, not much more in the articles.
Stopped getting local paper 10 yrs ago, just to biased.
When a news paper "endorses" a political candidate, it is no longer a news paper, but a political activist paper.
Just my 4am opinion.

Good morning all, temp now 68 and falling through the day. Hope to help wife with the work some more today. I catch the news on line. I just wish it was more news and less grade school gossip. She said she don't like you!!!! So, who cares. Hope to get the edge touched up on my carving knife and spend a little time on the spoon I am making but we will see.

Prayers for all. Ed
