I didn’t bring it up, I just called it what it was.

Not everything (and anything) which touches on the various topics drew mentioned (no matter how remotely) is "critical race theory".

Anyone ever sold the carbon credits on their forest? I'm in the process now...only a one year commitment to refrain from timbering...you must actually submit a bid for how much you want to get paid for it...if accepted you get paid after the year is up for the acres you didn't harvest. I don't have a lot of land, but think I could make enough to make it worthwhile. But I'll feel guilty participating in what's kind of a racket.
Sounds interesting. What are the requirements and who buys the credit?

RNG which Cannon printer did you get. As soon as I run out of ink on my HP I will be looking for a new printer. Does your printer scan to different formats, to computer, to email?
It's an MG4220, Don, purchased a fairly long time ago. It scans, prints, and copies on both black'n'white and color. It came with printer drivers and a program to run the scanner. It writes the scanned images to disc, and you decide what to do with them from there. I have it open Affinity Photo, a Photoshop substitute, and make any image edits. The printer driver works in all my Macintosh programs with no fuss. There's no email integration, but I haven't found that to be much of a problem.

I was able to get it working with MacOS Big Sur by downloading and installing the latest drivers, but haven't switched to that OS for other reasons. Monterrey is too new for me to mess with, so I don't have any compatibility info for it yet.

talking about things that annoy your friends just isn't worth it, not here.
I was just sharing what I was subjected to during "training". I'm not espousing anything and please note I have agreed
with Roy this is no place to discuss. But we are getting might touchy if we can't even "mention" stuff in passing without others reacting strongly.
Cut your friends some slack.

I would love to discuss a few of these topics in another forum, but my experience has just been awful in the politics group here.
I love history and am very curious how it is about to be rewritten. History was always written by the conquerors. Seems to be in for a rewrite.
Microsoft is up to version 11. I wonder what our History is up to? But geez curriculum brings out the loonies among the rightfully concerned
to public school board meetings. One group wants these books banned. Another group wants this ethnic or minority group better represented.
And these folks of course want to ban all masks and vaccine requirements.
I don't think I'd have the patience dealing with this if I was on a public board. You get very few crazies in private school and usually they just take their kids
out and leave. In public school they stick around to haunt you for years.

Let's get back to regular programming and be up with Wingsprd looking out over that valley.

The ink cartridge business is legalized thievery. I got a cheap laser printer for just b/w and an all in one color injet for color,
and that seems to keep my cost per page down.

RNG, I have put the Salton Lake on our RV "to see list" . Probably won't be until next year though. We want to travel up the Pacific Coast highway catching the sights along the way. We are still working on the itinerary as we hear of places. We are waiting for all the pandemic disruptions to calm down at least a little bit.
Keep in mind that the Pacific coast is often fogged in during the summer, so the shoulder season is the best time to visit. The inland areas like the Salton Sea are hotter than the hinges of Hades in the summer, so fall/winter/spring are best for them. You could make a loop up the coast, then down through the Sierra Nevada foothills, California's Gold Country. I've got quite a list of places I've visited over the years I'd be happy to share. Since camping is an outdoor deal, most campgrounds have been unaffected by the Covid scare. Wildfires and their smoke have had a much larger impact, though; another strike against summer.

Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 10:15AM. A mix of clouds and sun early followed by cloudy skies this afternoon. High 57F. Winds light and variable.
Slight chance of rain overnight tonight, then nothing more in the 10-day.

Managed to get all the romex wire stapled in place and all the junction boxes installed up in the attic yesterday. I found I need a duplex outlet to finish the job, so that's on the list for the town run today.

Watched a John Wayne movie last night, didn't get much else done.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

RNG, glad you are getting some rain. And thank you for expanding my vocabulary.
now all of you with wood and coal stoves know all about the hinges of Hades.
I had to look it up...
Hotter than Hell's hinges

Definition, Colloquialism of the American South, Appalachia (I make a strong distinction between the two, but there are of course similarities).

"Hotter than Hell's Hinges" is the ultimate superlative for a subjective judgement of heat. I've mostly heard it in West Virginia, but if you get far enough into the sticks anywhere south of the Mason-Dixon line, you'll hear it if it gets hot enough.

My father, the pure product of the great state of WV, explained it to me thus, "You know as well as I do that the hottest part of a coal or wood stove, once you really get it ginning, is the hinges. So the hottest part of hell is the hidges on the gates."

Thanks for the information, Don. We do have a nearby Walgreens, and I've had experience in the past with Labcorp; just didn't know they had any connection with Walgreens.

There is a big snow squall snowstorm coming, with up to 6 inches of snow.

Looking, it looks like snow squalls will miss you, yes?

Time for coffee!
An inch this evening and another inch tonight, that is all they are talking about.

Still a lively 71 with some breeze, tomorrow will be an uptake at 49.

Meeting friends for Mexican tonight, and an old friend for breakfast tomorrow I haven’t seen since before his liver transplant and my heart surgery. We ought to have a lot to talk about. LOL

52° rain on way home and windy. Leaves were blowing.

Could write a song about this week:

You go back, Jack, do it again,
wheel turnin' 'round and 'round
You go back, Jack, do it again

Oh wait, they did.

Hope all is well.
Wngsprd, glad you got more hiking in.
Buppies, hope you are getting better.
Top pop, have a good get together.
Mostly, how many miles you got this year?

Youngest son flies in tomorrow night, so gotta hang around late to pick him up at airport.

Having a consignment auction on Black Friday at the local rodeo place. Several tractors, one looks brand new, few skidsteers, 3 campers, other equipment sitting out.

The web page list only 15 Walgreens in Texas that house a Labcorp. Might want to call ahead.

3331 COLORADO BLVD, DENTON, TX 76210
571 W MAIN ST STE 110, LEWISVILLE, TX 75057

Closest Labcorp in Walgreens:

I'm considering the same leaf vac...had any problems, other then the dump thing?

What do you mean by "and it is really big the rest of the year."? Hard to store or park, or takes up too much room?
Very big when not in use. Hard to store and front heavy.
The only problem I've had with it was sucking up a rock or stick and blowing a chunk out of the plastic coupling the hose hooks to. Dinged up the blades a bit also.

Good evening. 42 now, was 53 when I got up this morning. Had wind and rain this morning.

Ken….70% BOL…..wow, that incredibly low. I was at 83% and they were considering drastic measures. You are lucky.

One year ago today, I felt great, bought a new upright freezer from Menards, had date night with my wife, unloaded the freezer and put it in the garage. Friday… not so much. This week is strange with all of the memories…..

And yes, we had date night tonight. We both enjoy it.

Everyone stay safe out there

Put together as much of the Eley as I can for now. Got grease on a good pair of jeans.

Thinking of just bolting it on the foundation. Wife is protesting because of her flowers and plants, which I already have to walk thru to turn faucet on.

It’s really windy out. Friend lost his power already.

35° right now...high about 40°

Made the dump run yesterday. Got an old box spring, so might make another one this morning.
Since it was pretty warm (60°) yesterday, I swept the leaves off the back deck, then mulched them
