Lou, make lemonade out of lemons, have some quality granddaughter time. Hope no other positives.

this sounded rather dismal from an economic standpoint. Lot of folks saying Grinch is coming for Christmas.

Dow Jones:
Citing the chip shortage and historically low inventories, General Motors Co. said last week its auto sales in the U.S. fell roughly 33% in the third-quarter.
Transportation-industry representatives say congestion at ports and labor shortages continue to create bottlenecks in cross-border trade.
"We are witnessing unprecedented disruptions and global delays and shortages on essential goods including electronics, food, fuel and medical supplies," the International Chamber of Shipping and other transportation industry groups wrote in a joint letter to the United Nations General Assembly last week. "Consumer demand is rising and the delays look set to worsen ahead of Christmas and continue into 2022."

one of those emails you get and think oh no....
this is my old next door neighbor, the nice young paid fireman and local farmer.
Late night fires in the dark are just bad news all the way around, can't see what is falling down around you due to smoke and darkness.
His partner built several of the new sheds on my farm and was a great carpenter.

I am usually very aware of my surroundings and can tell when something is about to go wrong. But Monday morning at 3:45 I was involved in a freak accident. A brick wall collapsed trapping me and my partner (Robbie Cox) at a store fire on 3rd st. I have multiple lacerations on my head and side of face and a broke right leg. I go for surgery Thursday to repair the fibula metal plate and screws. Robbie has tore ligaments in his neck. Thankfully we were in full gear or it could have been worse. We are in good spirits and thankful to be home with family.

Good Morning!!!! 64F @ 8:00AM. Partly cloudy. High around 85F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph.
Still only a 20% chance of a shower on Friday here, and it drops to single digits at the campsite that afternoon, which is looking like a "go" if it stays that way another day or so.

No, Drew, no PowerBall ticket here. Like I told the Sheriff, I don't have that kind of luck. Now they think the backup at the west coast docks has caused an oil spill when an anchor from one of the ships hit a submerged pipeline off Newport Beach.

My experience with nails came from the concrete forms around the driveway. I was picking them up for months, as they seemed to grow up out of the dirt during the winter rains. That after I told the contractor that I expected his crew to not drop any of them. Guess he never gave them the message.

Welcome home, Bill. Hope you found most everything pretty much as you left it.

Used a drill motor to test the speedo cable on the van yesterday morning, and it was fine. Took the speedo out and tested it with a screwdriver, and it was OK, too. Put it all back together and it worked fine. Must not have had the speedo end of the cable fitted correctly, even though the keeper on it was fully seated.

Pawed through the chip pile left by the wood splitter and came up with another bunch of kindling, dry as a bone after sitting in the sun all summer. It pretty much filled the last of the space in the Knack box, so I'm probably good for the next five or six years. 15'x19' tarp was just big enough to cover the pile of short end wood scraps for the campfire, and that's about it for being ready for the rains. If we get any.

After lunch I finished putting the red bike back together and got the tank filled, and so far at least, it's not leaking. Used most of a can of Gunk to clean the oil off from the leaky seal, and used Rick's two magic wands to wash it off and blow it dry. By then it was too hot to go for a check ride, so that's on the agenda for this morning.

Would have been a perfect day to finish painting the white tank, but I'm still waiting on more clearcoat. Supposed to be here tomorrow, but the wind doesn't look like it wants to cooperate. And after that, the temps will be too cool until maybe Sunday, but I'll be off camping. The weather did the same thing this spring, going from cool and wet to hot and dry in a matter of a week. So much for a lingering Indian Summer.

Nice sunset last night, though.

RNG, I really, really, really hope you were the guy in California that won the $700M powerball last night.
I was wondering this morning why they were talking on the radio about a Powerball winner from last night. I only just discovered that they recently added another drawing.

Low 60 and high to 66°F. Wind W 2 mph. A mix of sun and clouds.

The grass hasn't been cut all summer, but that is okay. It just goes to seed anyway.

Priced out a new Country Clipper "Avenue" z-turn mower with joystick control...$5500.oo tax in. 42" cut. I want the one with the Kawasaki engine.

A quick all day trip yesterday to Englehart, ON netted me a new Lincoln "President II" radio.
On the way back I dropped into Thornloe, ON, (i went right past their front door to get to Englehart), and got a 1/4 wheel of parmigiana cheese and 5 lbs of Mozzarella. $109.oo

Got home and my 8 year old tv/monitor went for a dump and that is where it is going on Thursday. Another trip to North Bay and 400 bux later I brought home two. Juniors' monitor was acting up too.

Have a safe day all

New neighbor is being visited by county tax office this morning. Invited me to come listen in. Maybe I learn something

Need to make a trip to PO

One Happy Hour couple back from Caribbean cruise. Said with the vaxxing, testing, protocols they felt safer than going to grocery store at home in Oregon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

68F, damp, and cloudy @ 12:30, headed up to a high of 78F supposedly with a mix of clouds and sun but not seeing it so far. So the warm weather continues. Calling for a high of 81F tomorrow.

Rain was so localized yesterday (and today) that it isn't showing up on the two nearest stations.

Need to put the pallet forks on and go move a couple of pallets in the pole barn so I can get the Cub Cadet out.

Beyond that, more garage clean up and probably start on the 2400 hour service on the Kubota.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)
