txdon said, "Bird what did you get as the renewal year for your TDL?"

Don, I know driver's licenses for old folks used to be for shorter periods of time; 2 years instead of 4 or 6. However, I don't find anything on the Internet to tell about any different times for different ages now; just 6 years some places on the Internet and 8 years other places

At age 85 the TDL must be renewed every other year in person, which my mother has to do.

Roy can the water issues be traced back to the gutters? Didn't you have some work done on them lately? If there is anyway you can pull up/back the wet carpet to dry that would be best so it does not get moldy underneath. If the carpet has a pad you need to just cut out the wet part and replace it. It's like a sponge and impossible to dry before it gets moldy.
The recent gutter work was on the front of the house.
The issue we're having is in the rear...
There's a bit of a slope from one end of the house to the other...the rain water just took the path of least resistance...there was enough fall on the line that should have prevented water coming from the tank area

We've lived here since 2013...never a problem like this...maybe we'll just see what happens over the Fall and Winter. Hopefully, any rain coming in won't be as torrential as last Sunday's was...

Just saw that western CONUS and Canada aren't the only ones dealing with wildfires here. Saw a story about a large fire on Hawaii's big island. I presume since David is always posting about all the rain he gets every day that he is not affected.

67°F and I.13 inches rain. Today looking like it could be repeat of yesterday. Would prefer to mow if possible but not promising. Plan B, back in caretaker studio.

Small gathering of Happy Hour folks up at neighbors late afternoon. All fully vaccinated and in open but covered outside lanai. Going to try my hand at air fryer Brussels sprouts.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

77F and sunny @ 12:30, headed up to a high of 79F, HI 77F, DP 51F ... feeling very pleasant currently as a light breeze drifts in the window.

Yesterday ended up being somewhat of an energy conservation day.

Did get hopper, one sunflower tube, and two suet feeders refilled. And fish fed.

Some more pvc glued as well.

Woman had a doctors appointment and hit the grocery store while she was out.

We both managed to sneak in a nap in the afternoon.

We also ran down to Tractor Supply where I picked up the feeder cable for the electric fence and some more wire tensioners and Menards where I ran in and got the rest of the pvc fittings needed for the 4th bed waterer.

At 50' the feeder cable was just barely long enough to reach the fence, even after I remounted the fencer. Did manage to get it hooked and powered up though ... but the cable is just lying on the ground and will have to moved or avoided to mow.

Even tested the fence ... twice ...

The Woman about had a fit the second time I did it ...

Still need to add one more run of wire. TSC no longer carries the particular corner insulators I was using, so probably will cobble something up using some rubber hose.

Not sure what all will be on the agenda today, but she's itching to get started.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day.

Ron, I didn’t fill step. Cut remaining wall remnants as close as I could, the hit with grinder, then finished as smooth as I could with #40 flap wheel down to base. Hit with primer before it could rust.

Seems like you windoze guys are in constant turmoil, Dennis. My MacBook Air is 2013 model. .

I considered going to Mac this time, but too much sw already with windows. Also I need larger hard drive space than they have. Plus it’s more than double price for similar hw.
I did get 5 or 6 updates successfully installed, and now have sound and printing working again.

Funny thing about a garage, if a car is left out for more than 24 hours, the garage starts to swallow its space. My wife and I are pretty diligent about parking our daily drivers in the garage to prevent this.

My handicap ramp still blocking the other side.
Plus I put my trash can, recycle bin, table saw, and folding chairs along side the ramp now. . A larger garage is the solution.

Saw this in the news this morning from 1977:

Radio Shack unveils the TRS-80 computer

Tandy announces one of the first mass-market home computers, the TRS-80, to be sold in its Radio Shack stores. It features 4K of RAM and sells for $399 (or $599 with a monitor and tape recorder for storage). Upgrades will keep various TRS-80 models on the market until 1991.

I had a very small color TV that I used for a monitor and, as mentioned above, a tape recorder for storage.

Remember that well.

Mine has taken to filling the voids along walls and in between. Only a matter of time before I get a strongly voiced hint to clean up. Or maybe not as a number of the items will be relocated to caretaker unit as soon as ready for them. Phew, I can breathe easier now

Speaking of Radio Shack.... remember the 'battery of the month club"? There was a punch card and you could get one free battery: your choice of D, C, A, 9v. I remember going every month for that free battery. Oh, and the free D cell flashlight around the holidays....

Hope everyone has a great day!

Remember that well also.

I saw that story, too, Bird. Never had a TRS-80, but a friend had a Vic-20 with a tape drive. I remember thinking that was the coolest thing ever. We used it to make our fake IDs (I can tell you that since you're retired).

Me either, but I did have a TI100. Actually, still do. In a box on a high shelf in my shop.

Yup, fire is on other side of Mauna Kea from us, so we are safe. Last night they were reporting 40k acres and 2 home destroyed, no loss of life. Fire is on dryside of Waimea. It crossed the road we usually drive on a Costco run. The evacs were cancelled and is thought to be under control. No word on cause, but in past years it was often a cigarette butt tossed out car window.

Good to hear of your favorable circumstances. Keep an eye on it, though. The fire fighting agencies here are famous for crowing about the level of containment, only to have it literally blown away by just a moderate wind. That's already happened on the Dixie Fire here, in several places along the line just last night.

Morning all, back from trip to Key West.
Cloudy here, but got some trimming and other work done outside yesterday afternoon.
Yesterday was my birthday- went to a nice Sushi place in Doylestown.

Still catching up on posts, but need to go back to day job.

Stay safe and be well.
