There is a copy Makita one. Gives it away by saying there is an adaptor for Makita battery. LOL
...
Sneaky liars but what can you expect from people like that.
Near as I can tell, Makita tools use either 12, 18/36, or 40/80 volt power supplies. So the 24V spec battery is the first clue that it's a fake.

I haven't been able to find a hand held trimmer like Randy's in the Makita product lineup, either. Just the small chainsaws and the pole saws.

80F with very gusty winds right at the moment, feels like 84F. Was 90F or better earlier, with the HI approaching 100.

We are currently under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 18:45 ... which just became a Dangerous Thunder Storm Alert. Sure hope we get some rain from it.

Refilled hummingbird feeder earlier.

Also fueled Cub and unwrapped cedar fence panel and took it around back to be cut along with a bunch of 5 gallon buckets that need rinsed out.

Filled water buffalo about 3/4, and The Woman and I went up and watered the newly planted hosta. Also watered the lilac bush and the ginkgo tree. The Squeak escaped just prior to that and was being very difficult to catch and put inside. A round from the Ruger .380 had her heading to the garage in very short order though.

Got the risers for the portable bed waterer taped up with teflon and the sprinkler heads put on and the risers themselves screwed into PVC tee's. Also cleaned off the UPC tags off. Now need to start gluing pieces together ... assuming the glue I have is still good.

Had spaghetti for late lunch, which might also have been dinner.

Waiting for heads up from neighbor to backfill his electrical trench to the new building he just put up.

Now raining steady but the worst isn't here yet.

A heavier 2 hand 4 1/2" Makita 18v is about the closest they make, or made - it's unavailable on Amazon.

Sold as a 5" bare tool $99 here:

Condolences, Randy. Tough time for the fuzzy butts in this thread.

Looks nice, Rick, if you can find 'em when you need 'em. The wall hanger thing I have is too big to lose, and there's so much stuff everywhere else on the wall there's no place else for it to go.

Mine are in a large zip lock bag .. in their own drawer.

Good dig, Don. That model is shown as Discontinued on the Makita website, though:

The replacement looks like an 18V version of the 36V saw that Paul and I, and I think Drew, too, have. Not a one handed saw at all (unless you wanna end up one handed after an accident  :ROFLMAO:).

Maybe since Makita discontinued the mini saw, they're working on a handier version. I'd be a buyer only if it used the same 18V battery as the rest of the LXT line.
