Drinking first cup of hot coffee. 39° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 65° with mostly sunny skies. Did conserve energy yesterday. I will have to get some winter clothes out or stay inside today. No real plans today.
Turtle was in middle of my lawn. Why I do not know. It's 1/4 mile to nearest water.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.
I believe they crawl up to a dry place to lay eggs. I have caught the red eared slider turtles doing such.
1/2 in of rain and counting diarrhea bug here for a visit since Sunday night lots to deal with here.

nice picture Eric
Hope and pray you get over it soon, along with the "lots to deal with".

I finally got my new phone and service this morning. We had a lot to deal with, getting away from the other provider, and getting initiated with the new one. But for the first day, it seems to be working wonderfully.

I finished mowing the post oak forest that I had started the day the Steiner's switch broke. It was almost dark Sunday, but it was cool enough, and a bit of a breeze, so I bucked up and got it done. It took about 1.5 hours more of mowing.....dodging the 50 spider webs.

Drew, that hobby store sounds great. Takes me back a few decades or more. Alien's RC hobby is the new model building hobby, but many are kit RTF. I believe the drone market is taking it's toll on the model RC plane/helicopter market maybe?

RNG, Lake Tahoe sounds funner than digging ditches in the heat.

Friend's 2011 chevy cruse has a/c problems. No cooling whatsoever. I put the gages on it, and high side was about 150ish, but the low side was high and fluctuating from 70-90 psi. The low gage needle was swinging back and forth like a grandfather clock pendulum. Has me stumped. Might need new compressor? I will tell more as I learn of it.

I woke up with a terrible backache today. Just persevered through it all day until an hour ago. Took 3 ibuprofen. Still hurting.

Toppop, we are only on this good earth for a short while.. I'm praying for you to have a better day.

Eric, I almost bought a battery powered Milwaukee tool like this, not sure if it could help you:

55F and clear @ 21:45, headed down to 47F for the low tonight.

Aerated lower front, also applied the last 90 lbs of lime on the lower section.

Then applied 70 lbs of lime, 80 lbs of gypsum, and another 50 lbs of lawn food on area around house.

Fixed squirt bottle sprayer for Woman so she could put some Bonide Deer and Rabbit repellent on the vegetable plants (somebody been chewing on the 'maters ) Also hooked her up with the shaker bottle with Deer Scram. She treated everything.

Filled hopper feeder.

After that I dropped the sprayer and pallet forks off the Kubota and put the box blade and shrub bucket on and dug out more hosta along side of shop. Dumped that in the dump cart and The Woman dug the hosta out of the clumps and picked out all the extraneous roots.

I ran down and grabbed the regular bucket and used it to clean up the area where we had previously dug out hosta and some invasive shrub that was taking over, took that over to compost pile.

Then I hauled a couple of buckets of screened compost over to the hosta bed on the north side of the shop (and the base of the maple tree that may get planted tomorrow - even after planting some today, we still have a crapload of 'em left)

Worked that in with the FS 66 and cultivator head.

As I was doing that neighbor came by on his Gator with his son who was up from Texas visiting. Chewed the fat for a while.

After dinner we got back out there and got some of the hosta in the ground:

Still have some more work to do there on the ends, including figuring out what I'm going to do about the water line.

Previously it came up out of the ground on the outside of the shop and went through the wall about 4' up (right side of picture)

Thinking about drilling the floor inside and busting out a hole in the concrete and bringing it up inside. Might get another month or so out of it ... before the line has be drained for the winter.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Had a good meeting tonight, we picked two beneficiaries for our Cruise For A Cause in September.
You can tell the auto industry is doing well, one dealer donated $1050 To our club. It’s usually harder to get money from a dealer than blood from a turnip.
Both participation and donations are way over 2019.

61 now, headed to about 55 overnight.

Time for a nap, have a good one.

PS; my earlier post wasn’t about me feeling sorry, or whining at all, in enjoy my life, just an observation.

It seems ironic that we spend our lives gathering wealth and collecting stuff. By the time we get a bit comfortable, our health or that of a loved one, or we lose our life partner that we shared with, keeps us from fully enjoying it. A lot of our friends and family that we shared life with are gone. Kind of feels like an empty victory. I don’t think about it much, but occasionally reality knocks.
On a brighter note, most of us still have our sense of humor and enjoy playing with our toys.

Like you I also contemplate such things.

I keep looking around and thinking why am I still working. Health insurance is primary reason, and always wondering did I save enough. I also look at a lot of stuff that has accumulated and think why did I buy that. I don’t consider myself an impulsive shopper, yet my house is too full. I’ve already been trying to downsize, but it’s hard.
I think I’ve recovered about 90% from my GBS, and don’t think it’s going to improve much more. Don’t think I’ll be able to physically do some of the things I’d like to do after retiring.

So I play on my toys.

My oldest brother was able to make the 3.5 hour drive to see our dad last weekend. Dad hasn’t seen him in 5 yrs, which was for our mom’s funeral. My brothers wife suffered from real bad MS for years until she passed last year, then he was diagnosed with cancer.

48° right now...high in the low 70's...

Audit went OK...few minor findings, but nothing too difficult to correct. The job we're running for this customer is almost done...so, once we get the corrective actions squared away, I doubt we ever have to worry about another audit by them.

Wife, stepdaughters and child all in Norfolk VA...apparently not too far from one of the Navy bases since my wife called and told me about the "big" ships.. They'll be enjoying life until Friday and head home on Saturday

Great observation, Randy. Have to admit to having similiar thoughts at times.

Coffee is done brewing. 43° with a few clouds this morning. Heading to 71° with cloudy skies. Got started working on dining table and chairs refinishing. Got first coat of paint on one chair. Each chair will need at least 2 coats. Chair seat and table top will be done with stain and varnish.
Flower from my yard.
