Temp has dropped from 85 to 76 and the rain has started. The wind has switched to NW @ 21 mph.

It seems ironic that we spend our lives gathering wealth and collecting stuff. By the time we get a bit comfortable, our health or that of a loved one, or we lose our life partner that we shared with, keeps us from fully enjoying it. A lot of our friends and family that we shared life with are gone. Kind of feels like an empty victory. I don’t think about it much, but occasionally reality knocks.
On a brighter note, most of us still have our sense of humor and enjoy playing with our toys.

Good observation. I’ve thought about that as well at times - mostly at night.

But, what’s the alternative? You have to plan for when you are no longer young, strong and energetic.

The old saying “the joy is in the trip - not the destination” is pretty true, at least for me.

Down from 86 to 66 with just over 1/2” of rain so far.

Couldn’t work outside this afternoon and didn’t want to do the stuff in the garage, so I watched a couple of episodes of the Vikings, who knew they spoke English with a British accent? Come to think of it so did the Romans I watched.

Oh yeah. I am 72 and even though there are health issues I don't intend for them to stop me getting some enjoyment in my final years. I just wish my body would let me be more active. I love flying my RC planes (just bought a 75.2" Stuka) and have several 4 stroke gas models that I fly at a local club with a group of like minded blokes. It is the best club I have ever been in as far as companionship goes. We enjoy each others company as much as flying. Long may I live.

rain has stopped, system has moved through with temp now at 69 and dropping down to 51 tonight as clear cooler air
comes in tomorrow. Should be a nice day.

.41 inches of rain this time, 27 and change year to date. Nice and green out, tomatoes are showing on the vine.
