Mo, maybe you can leave a tap dripping and the cat will get it right from the source. I have seen cats that will drink straight out of the tap.

Good thought.

However, my wife is going to get one of those cat fountains. They just recycle the water in the bowl but it looks like fresh water with the waterfall noise.

That kitty sure is spoiled! But the fact they make a cat water fountain says a lot about cat owners!!!

My wife is taking the little cat to the vet today for a follow up on it’s thyroid issue. We still give it medicine twice a day. It poops itself every time it travels, to and from the vet, a nasty mess. I was more than glad to go to work today.

Awww. Good luck. Poor kitty. You have a good wife.

Good morning to all! Low of 45, going up to near 70 today, light breezes at 10-15mph. Maybe some isolated showers tomorrow and Friday, just a slim chance...

Did a little clean up in the shop yesterday, a couple short errands done, then did some burgers on the grill. Just took it easy all day.

Today, more shop time.... I need to weld up a "C" bracket, which will then get welded onto the side link cylinder. I am not comfortable having the swivel eye of the cylinder off to one side of the lift arms. The C bracket will have it mount like the factory arm.

A new discussion about moving took place.... with a totally new objective! We both agree to look for a property that will become our "vacation" property. Someplace that we would like to frequently like to return to. We have no clue as to 'where' ..... The plan is to travel around in the RV, find those special places, then decide. Might be on a lake, might be up higher in the mountains. We will just have to make it suitable for the RV. That way, no building, no packing up the house, no big hassles.

Time' a wastin'.... I hope everyone has a great day!

steady rain, no wind, garden is loving the watering

good visit with surgeon, said they did a lot of work on me and expected me to be sore for awhile and not
to worry about pain pills for another week. PT to start one month after surgery so they really want me to just cool it and
let it heal, while doing minor home PT several times a day. So they managed my expectations better, I thought this was a faster process.

I think a nap is in order this afternoon while I listen to the faint noise of cars swishing by on the wet road.

48F, cloudy, and wet @ 11:45, high today of only 52F. Expect some clearing later today. High of 60F tomorrow. Cool temps for highs throughout the Ten Day ... but at least some days with no rain ... (y)

Had intermittent rain throughout the day yesterday, but no thunderstorms ever developed. Accumulation yesterday was 0.31" ... 0.09" so far today ...

Ran down to the hardware yesterday and picked up the spade terminals, grabbed zip ties up at the shop on the way back. Also verified that the light that is mounted on top of the Cub ROPS will easily clear the garage door ... even using the tall brackets.

Also checked mealworm feeder in the upper front on way back in, still had worms in it. Did not check the one in the back, but with phoebes and bluebirds around I'll bet it's empty. Lots of activity out there this morning. Rest of feeders are due to be refilled today (two suet feeders in back are empty ... still hanging and not in the gutters.

Made doctors appointment for next week.

Did kitchen clean up, some dishes, plus some laundry done.

All fish and cats fed.

Fixed whatever salmon I was able to get in the oven (before The Squeak ate it all ... ), plus black-eyed peas for dinner. If it's fish, Squeak will be happy to help with consuming it. (She's also a fan of drinking directly from the tap of you leave it running)

Chapin two-behind spreader has made it to Ohio and is due to be delivered sometime tomorrow by UPS.

Agenda for today: finish up wiring harnesses for Cub and get things all wired up, feed fish and cats, finish kitchen clean up.

Today is The Woman's birthday ... so will have to see what she wants to do about that.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

I have two of them. Once upon a time I had 16 cats, definitely needed two fountains. Down to 6 now.

You do realize driving your RV to Hawaii can be a challenge?

Don, if you do move again, will you still be looking for the same sort of community living ?
Yes. I would most likely just move to a bigger house in this community. We looked at all the surrounding 55+ communities around here and this one had the best of every thing with a small town atmosphere. The neighborhood is 25 years old this year, and still building. It will top out in 4 years at 12,000 houses on 4,100 acres.

61 to 74˚F perfect temp for brush clearing this morning. We open up this area for three picnic tables near the park entrance. Total brush haul out was 14 trailers full (stacked high with grapple pushing it down). We had a lot of good limb haulers this morning so I could continue cutting. The building in the background is the park entrance building, the pay window will be overlooking this picnic area. It was requested that we leave the mustang grape vines for the kids to play on.

MoKelly....
"Kitty is on my lap getting his cheeks rubbed. I just fed him and gave him new water. He won’t drink old water. He needs to see it coming from the tap.

Dogs will drink 4 day old rain from a sidewalk crack but this cat needs fresh tap water every drink. Shake my head! Good thing he is cute.

He got you wrap around his little paw and knows it. ;)

48 and raining, 1.4" the last 24 hrs (y) (y)

Not much been going on this past week just enjoying life, puttering around and watching natures miracle of spring blooms! Roast chicken and a few cold ones for supper. No news on the kitty search, it will happen when its right. This was Gus our mouser supreme, he had the extra toes on all four feet and was always in stealth mode. He was another one who liked drinking from a running faucet and if you ever dared to scratch his belly you paid the price. :D

Enjoy what's left of the day

Good morning, the wind has calmed down nicely, shower clouds passing by slow enough to be able anticipate when to go out for ten minutes without getting too wet.
When deciding what seed to buy for vegetables, my wife goes for best flavour instead of size. She was surprised how large the last few parsnips have grown.

On the subject of moving, I never thought in my younger years that I would ever leave Yorkshire, the county I grew up in and where I lived until 2012. I had no desire to leave, it was just that after years of trying, the realisation that I was running out of time to find the right piece of land to buy. Very few came up for sale and someone with deeper pockets always offered more than I could afford.

One of the best decisions of my life was to be prepared to search wider and eventually move to a different part of the country. Moving away from the place you have lived a long time is a risk, I was lucky that it all worked out. Sometimes you just have to try things without knowing all the answers to how life will unfold.

Don, if you do move again, will you still be looking for the same sort of community living ?
You must have rich soil Eric.
