Yea there are a lot of choices for getting shore power into a vehicle. For a lot of uses, the simple 15A inlet and a power strip with a 15A breaker inside provides all the AC power needed for a simple system in a trailer or van.

In my old trailer, I had a mini fridge powered all the time and a battery charger from time to time to keep the battery charged. Had other AC stuff connected from time to time as well. Worked great.

Sometimes, I am afraid I am over thinking the new trailer build, but a free load center from an RV makes me think I need to upgrade to 30A

Nice Vette Drew. I have one friend with a 65 coupe that has the one year only 396/425 hp, and my best friend has a 65 convertible with a 327/365 hp. I’ve driven the big block car many times since the 1970’s and I’ve driven the convertible half a dozen or so times. I much prefer the small block for driving comfort but the brutality of the big block is amazing. The noise from the side pipes on the BB coupe gets annoying to me now also.

Popgadget, so Vargo was in Perkasie I think on Elephant Road from memory but this was a long time ago. Yes, I think it was my Mother who represented
local dairy farmers getting Vargo shut down. Much of what she did was probono work and this defending the cows sounds like something right up her alley.

Yup that’s the place and the story. It’s actually in Bedminster about 5 minutes from me. My friend bought from the Vargo family at least 30 years ago. He grows Christmas Trees and pumpkins, and started a vineyard a few years ago, this might be the first year for wine.

Good morning. It was 61° this morning with 62° dew point .. so very foggy, near zero visibility. This covers most of SE Texas this morning. Rain is predicted for later today and next few days. I think our high will be mid 70's this afternoon.

Yesterday's trip all the way to Memorial Herman in the TMC, for Patricia's first Covid vaccination, was a sad "joke". We got there a good half hour before her 12:30 appointment time and drove through the hospital drop off / pickup area. There was a huge crowd of people on foot and it looked like disorganized chaos. We drove around Herman Park then I dropped her off about 10 minutes early. She was to call me when she had her shot and starting her 15 minute observation period so .. I could get back to pick her up.

About 12:45 my phone rang and my first thought was WOW! They're right on time. I answered and Patricia told me that she was finally advised that they were 2 1/2 hours behind schedule? They opened at 10 a.m. so .. how do you get 2 1/2 hours behind in 2 1/2 hours?? She said she spoke to a nurse who told her that the hospital had created a very comprehensive plan to manage distribution / vaccinations and .. at the last minute city / county "bureaucrats" showed up to "manage" the program and turned everything the hospital staff planned upside down. As expected, when everything turned to chaos .. the "bureaucracy" .. vanished .. leaving a huge mess in their wake.

Patricia said she would "wait it out" as she really wanted to get the vaccine. So I went on a Saturday driving tour of that part of the city. About 1:15 Patricia called again and said she had gotten a call from Ft. Bend County Health and could she be at the County Fair Ground to get vaccinated at 2:30? Our Richmond Home is in Ft. Bend County. I raced back to MH, picked her up, and we headed to Rosenberg, where the Fair Grounds are located, giving Houston and Harris County the "middle finger" as we left there. I'm calling a good friend .. who is an investigative reporter for a Houston TV Channel .. to let him know about this.

We got to the Fair Grounds, a bit before 2 p.m. They were hosting both testing and vaccinations, with excellent signage to direct you to where you needed to be. Patricia got in a well spread out line that moved quickly. She got signed in, did the questionnaire, and walked to a nearby building for her vaccine. She rang my cell when her 15 minutes started at 2:33 and by 12:50 we were driving away to a late "drive thru" WhataBurger lunch.

Not sure what today will bring .. as usual Sunday routine is "tractor maintenance but did that last Sunday and due to all the recent rains tractors haven't moved.

I'll find something to do in the shop .. I guess.

52 foggy degrees this morning, going for a high of 65. I went to Walmart for a few things, foggy and everything LOOKED wet but never had to use the windshield wipers a single time.

And talking of racing . . . . well, like other dumb kids I did my share of racing, mostly drag racing with a '56 Mercury my last year or so in high school. But I later learned that was not exciting at all compared to some of the high speed pursuits I drove as a police officer with some who thought they could outrun my squad car.

24F and cloudy @ 11:30, headed up tp a high of 31F for the day.

Squirrels were busy cleaning up what was left in the feeder this morning and the two sunflower tube feeders are starting to look low, so refilling on agenda for later. Birdbath cleanup and refill still on the list for today.

Got tv stand assembled early yesterday (with feline "help" ), and that Little Squeak took to it immediately - deciding the the middle and bottom shelves made a great place to lay ... :laughing:

Flatscreen was delivered mid-afternoon and I got it unpacked, feet installed, set on the stand, and hooked up to the terrestrial antenna. Then got it set up and configured - it had to download several firmware updates ... which took a little bit. After that I hooked up the sound bar and configured that. Still need to finish mounting the two rear speakers to their stands and run an ethernet cable to it.

The Woman thought the stand seemed to be decent/acceptable as a piece of furniture, and was impressed with the picture quality. We have also now gone from "There's nothing to watch on tv ..." to "There's so many choices I can't decide ..." ... :laughing:

She actually couldn't decide ... so we ended up watching the Previews channel for about an hour and a half ... :laughing:

Next item on the entertainment agenda will be to get her dialed in on how to use the remote and navigate all the options ...

So other than the items above, will probably do some housecleaning ... still have enough buttermilk left to do at least one more sheet cake, probably tomorrow if not today.

I have to fill the pellet box on the porch. Almost thru my first ton.
I got call late last night to do song leading at worship. Was going to stay home out of precaution, but since I tested negative I went and did it. I did keep my distance from people, and led with my mask on. Some that had COVID are back at worship.

I need to sit down and make a list of all the loads that will be in the van, then come up with a list of components for a solar power system that will handle them. In my spare time...:laughing:

I was surprised that none of those pass throughs were rated for 20A, but I'm hoping that a 30A service won't be required to run a small A/C unit and a microwave.:crossfingers:

Morning. Nice and balmy 35 degrees out and dreary.

Had a busy weekend. Yesterday we spent the day at the Car dealers

My old Sierra 1500 started knocking on start up till it got warm. It's been starting to turn into a money pit, so we made the decision to go truck shopping.

Came home with a late model used Sierra 1500 with low miles, 4wd still, as well as a crew cab this time around. So it will be more comfortable on road trips when we shang-hi the grandkiddos for a vacation

5.3l engine just like the old one, but with a few more lbs towing capacity and integrated trailer brake controller

I am gonna order a set of telescoping tow mirrors for it. But those will be after market. The dealer wants $500 a piece for them. I can get the same mirrors online for $100 each delivered then get my son in law to install them

Made buttermilk pancakes this morning for breakfast with some black label thick cut bacon.

Off to the nieces house this afternoon for a visit. Then to town to run our errands that we didn't get a chance to do yesterday.
